RESUMO

A hyphenated liquid electrode glow discharge (LEGD)-dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) molecular emission spectrometer was constructed and used as a novel liquid chromatography (LC) detector for dithiocarbamates (DTC) determination. The LEGD was used as an acidolysis reactor for the in-situ transformation of DTCs into CS2 with high efficiencies of 74.11-97.98%. The DBD was used to excite CS2 gas to generate a specific molecular emission at 257.94 nm. The linear correlation coefficient of the method was > 0.99 from 1 to 200 µg mL-1. The detection limits ranged from 0.1 to 0.3 µg mL-1 with 76-119% recovery and relative standard deviations of 0.2-8.5%. Moreover, the hyphenated microplasma spectrometer achieved low power consumption, low temperature, immediate acidolysis, and high transformational efficiency, and can detect each DTC when combined with LC.

Exploring the behavior of pesticide residues in fruits is important for effectively applying pesticides and minimizing the risk of pesticide exposure to humans. However, most studies do not consider in situ visual analysis of residues and migration patterns in fresh fruit samples. We investigated the migration patterns of thiram, propamocarb, imidacloprid and pyraclostrobin in fresh bananas based on ambient mass spectrometry imaging, metabolome and transcriptome analysis. The systemic pesticides entered via lateral penetration and vertical migration over time, which began to internally migrate to the inner core after 6 h. The non-systemic pesticide thiram did not enter the interior of the bananas, and remained only in the peel. The transportation rate of the pesticides increased with the decrease of water-octanol partition coefficient and the relative molecular mass. Moreover, the pesticide migrated fast with the increase of banana ripeness. The pesticides significantly enhanced pyruvate kinase, NADP-dependent malic enzyme, and malate synthase activities in the banana peels through carbohydrate metabolism. The banana pulp was also protected against the external toxicity of pesticides by the ascorbate-glutathione cycle. These results can provide guidelines for the appropriate application of pesticides and their safety evaluation.

Triflumezopyrim, a novel mesoionic insecticide used to control planthoppers, is a potential substitute for imidacloprid. In this study, triflumezopyrim and imidacloprid residues in rice were determined using a quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged, and safe procedure combined with ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. The limit of quantification of both triflumezopyrim and imidacloprid was 0.01 mg kg-1, and the average recovery values were 94-104% and 91-106%, with relative standard deviations (RSDs) of 1.1-1.4% and 2.1-3.4% (n = 5), respectively. The consumer protection level was assessed by calculating the theoretical maximum daily intake using the reported maximum residue limits of triflumezopyrim and imidacloprid. The established method was successfully applied to 200 commercial rice samples collected from four provinces in China, and their potential public health risks were assessed using triflumezopyrim and imidacloprid residues. The risk associated with triflumezopyrim and imidacloprid dietary intake was assessed by calculating the national estimated short-term intake and the acute reference dose percentage (%ARfD). The results show that the theoretical maximum daily intake (NEDI) values of triflumezopyrim and imidacloprid in different age and gender groups were 0.219-0.543 and 0.377-0.935 µg kg-1 d-1 bw, and the risk quotient (RQ) values were 0.188-0.467% and 0.365-0.906%, respectively. The acute reference dose (%ARfD) of triflumezopyrim and imidaclopridin ranged from 0.615 to 0.998% and from 0.481 to 0.780%, respectively.
