RESUMO

Endpoint detection is an important technology in chemical mechanical polishing (CMP), which is used to capture the material interface and compensate the variations of consumables and incoming wafer thickness. This paper aimed to apply optical detection in metal CMP. An in situ optical measurement system was developed for a 12-inch CMP tool. Kinematic analysis of the scanning trajectory of the laser device indicated the relative position relationship between the device and the wafer. Average optical data within the wafer described the material removal of metal CMP. Furthermore, optical data and location described the non-uniformity of the entire wafer surface. In this research, the polishing condition and the residual of the wafer edge are characterized by optical trace. Pauta Criterion is used to discriminate the inflexion point of the material interface. The results reveal that the interface capture is accurate and effective.

RESUMO

Transparent conductive electrodes (TCEs) are indispensable components of various optoelectronic devices such as displays, touch screen panels, solar cells, and smart windows. To date, the fabrication processes for metal mesh-based TCEs are either costly or having limited resolution and throughput. Here, a two-step surface energy-directed assembly (SEDA) process to efficiently fabricate high resolution silver meshes is introduced. The two-step SEDA process turns from assembly on a functionalized substrate with hydrophilic mesh patterns into assembly on a functionalized substrate with stripe patterns. During the SEDA process, a three-phase contact line pins on the hydrophilic pattern regions while recedes on the hydrophobic non-pattern regions, ensuring that the assembly process can be achieved with excellent selectivity. The necessity of using the two-step SEDA process rather than a one-step SEDA process is demonstrated by both experimental results and theoretical analysis. Utilizing the two-step SEDA process, silver meshes with a line width down to 2 µm are assembled on both rigid and flexible substrates. The thickness of the silver meshes can be tuned by varying the withdraw speed and the assembly times. The assembled silver meshes exhibit excellent optoelectronic properties (sheet resistance of 1.79 Ω/□, optical transmittance of ≈92%, and a FoM value of 2465) as well as excellent mechanical stability. The applications of the assembled silver meshes in touch screen panels and thermal heaters are demonstrated, implying the potential of using the two-step SEDA process for the fabrication of TCEs for optoelectronic applications.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Bladder cancer is a prevalent malignancy of the urinary system, in which long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are highly associated. We aimed to elucidate the role of LINC00958 in bladder cancer. METHODS: LINC00958 expression levels were measured using qRT-PCR. The interaction of LINC00958-miR-490-3p-AURKA was analyzed by luciferase, RIP, and RNA pull-down assays. The biological roles of LINC00958, miR-490-3p, and AURKA in bladder cancer cells were analyzed using CCK8, BrdU, and transwell assays. RESULTS: Increased expression of LINC00958 and AURKA was observed in bladder cancer tissues and cell lines. Decreased LINC00958 expression repressed bladder cancer progression and downregulation of miR-490-3p accelerated bladder cancer cell progression. Moreover, LINC00958 sponges miR-490-3p to upregulate AURKA expression, thereby promoting carcinogenesis in bladder cancer cells. CONCLUSIONS: Our study revealed that LINC00958 facilitated cell proliferation and invasion, and suppressed cell apoptosis by sponging miR-490-3p and upregulating AURKA, thus inspiring a new treatment method for bladder cancer.

RESUMO

Expression of interleukin-23 receptor (IL-23R) and IL-17 in urinary bladder carcinoma (UBC) was investigated to explore the correlations with prognosis. IL-23/IL-17 axis significantly inhibited the development of inflammatory bowel disease. Thirty patients with UBC were enrolled in Zhengzhou Central Hospital Affiliated to Zhengzhou University from September 2013 to September 2014. Tumor tissue and adjacent healthy tissue were collected, and the levels of IL-23R and IL-17 mRNA were detected by RT-PCR. Thirty healthy people were also selected to serve as normal control group. Serum levels of IL-23R and IL-17 in serum of UBC patients and normal controls were detected by ELISA, and the correlations with clinical features of UBC were analyzed. Pearson's correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between IL-23R and IL-17 protein expression. Follow-up study was performed by phone or during patient's visit to out-patient department. Overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) curves were plotted by Kaplan-Meier method to analyze the correlation between expression of IL-23R and IL-17 and survival time. ROC curve was used to detect the diagnostic values of IL-23R and IL-17 protein for UBC. Levels of IL-23R and IL-17 mRNA in UBC tissue were 3.26 and 2.65 times higher than those in adjacent tissue (P<0.05), and serum levels of IL-23R and IL-17 protein in UBC patients were significantly higher than those in normal control group. Protein expression levels of IL-23R and IL-17 were correlated with clinical stage and lymph node metastasis in UBC patients (P<0.05), and Cox hazard model showed that L-23R and IL-17 expression may be independent factors for UBC (P<0.05), and high expression levels of IL-23R and IL-17 significantly shortened the OS and DFS (P<0.05). Serum levels of IL-23R and IL-17 can be used to effectively diagnose clinical stage and lymph node metastasis of UBC patients, and the combined diagnosis has a higher sensitivity and specificity than the diagnosis using a single factor. These findings indicated that expression levels of IL-23R and IL-17 were increased in tumor tissue and serum of UBC patients, and the increased expression levels of IL-23R and IL-17 were correlated with poor prognosis. Detection of IL-23R and IL-17 levels has certain clinical significance in the diagnosis and prognosis of UBC.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: We aimed to investigate the prevalence of erectile dysfunction (ED) in patients with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) and to explore the correlation of ED with LUTS and its clinical features. METHODS: Overall, 400 outpatients and inpatients with LUTS diagnosed in Zhengzhou Central Hospital, Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou, Henan Province, China from June 2015 to June 2017 were collected. LUTS degree was assessed by the International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS), and ED degree was assessed by the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-5). The correlation of ED with LUTS degree, age, blood lipids, homocysteine (Hcy) and other factors was analyzed. RESULTS: The prevalence of ED in patients with LUTS was 82.25%. With the increase in age, the prevalence of ED was significantly elevated, and ED degree gradually became higher (P<0.01). The higher the degree of LUTS was, the higher the prevalence of ED would be. The degree of ED was highly correlated with the combination with hypertension, diabetes mellitus and coronary heart disease (P<0.05). The prevalence of ED was positively correlated with LUTS degree and the levels of total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and Hcy (P<0.05 or P<0.01). CONCLUSION: ED prevalence of patients with LUTS is high, and ED is significantly related to LUTS degree, age and the levels of TC, LDL-C and Hcy in patients with LUTS.

RESUMO

Metallothioneins (MTs) are a family of ubiquitous, low-molecular-mass, cysteine-rich proteins that play a significant role in maintaining intracellular metal homeostasis, eliminating metal toxification, and protecting cells against oxidative damages. Research activity on plant MTs, although known for 30 years, has only moderately increased in the past few years. In this study, a type 1 MT from maize (Zea mays) (ZmMT1) was successfully expressed in Escherichia coli strain BL21 (DE3). The UV absorption spectra recorded after the reconstitution of apo-ZmMT1 with different metals demonstrated that ZmMT1 can coordinate up to six Zn(II) ions, six Cd(II) ions, and even higher amounts of Pb(II). In addition, the general metal ion coordination abilities of ZmMT1 characterized by pH-dependent zinc-, lead- and cadmium-binding stability and by the competitive reaction with 5,5'-dithiobis-(2-nitrobenzoic acid) (DTNB) were evaluated. Results showed that the affinity of metal ions for the recombinant form of ZmMT1 can be arranged as follows: Cd(II) > Pb(II) > Zn(II). The observation revealed that chelating agents, such as ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA) and ATP, accelerate the oxidation of ZmMT1 in the following order: EDTA ≫ L-histidine > ATP ≈ citrate. Meanwhile, commonly used buffers increase the reactivity of ZmMT1 with DTNB in the following order: PBS > Tris-HCl > HEPES.

RESUMO

The purpose of the present study was to compare the effectiveness of two common α1-receptor blockers, alfuzosin and tamsulosin, on lower urinary tract symptoms, sexual function, and quality of life in young and middle-aged people with benign prostatic hyperplasia. We recruited 80 young and middle-aged patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia and divided them into two groups that received either the non-selective α1-receptor blocker alfuzosin or the selective α1A-receptor blocker tamsulosin for 18 consecutive days. After intervention, maximum urinary flow, bladder compliance, maximum detrusor pressure, maximum urethral pressure, 72 h urination frequency and urination frequency at night, average urinary volume, residual urinary volume, urinary symptom distress score were significantly better in the tamsulosin group than in the alfuzosin group. Also, sperm density, sperm motility, sperm activity, and sperm DNA fragmentation index were significantly better in the tamsulosin group compared to the alfuzosin group. Finally, international index of erectile function-5 scores, increased libido and erection, retrograde ejaculation, and the quality of life were significantly better in the tamsulosin group compared to the alfuzosin group. Overall, tamsulosin effectively relieved the lower urinary tract symptoms, improved semen quality, and increased sexual life and quality of life in young and middle-aged patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia.

RESUMO

Chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) is the most widely used planarization technique in semiconductor manufacturing presently. With the aid of in situ measurement technology, CMP tools can achieve good performance and stable productivity. However, the in situ measurement has remained unexplored from a kinematic standpoint. The available related resources for the kinematic analysis are very limited due to the complexity and technical secret. In this paper, a comprehensive kinematic analysis of in situ measurement is provided, including the analysis model, the measurement trajectory, and the measurement time of each zone of wafer surface during the practical CMP process. In addition, a lot of numerical calculations are performed to study the influences of main parameters on the measurement trajectory and the measurement velocity variation of the probe during the measurement process. All the efforts are expected to improve the in situ measurement system and promote the advancement in CMP control system.

RESUMO

Monastrol, a cell-permeable inhibitor, considered to specifically inhibit kinesin Eg5, can cause mitotic arrest and monopolar spindle formation, thus exhibiting antitumor properties. Centrin, a ubiquitous protein associated with centrosome, plays a critical role in centrosome duplication. Moreover, a correlation between centrosome amplification and cancer has been reported. In this study, it is proposed for the first time that centrin may be another target of the anticancer drug monastrol since monastrol can effectively inhibit not only the growth of the transformed Escherichia coli cells in vivo, but also the Lu(3+)-dependent self-assembly of EoCen in vitro. The two closely related compounds (Compounds 1 and 2) could not take the same effect. Fluorescence titration experiments suggest that four monastrols per protein is the optimum binding pattern, and the binding constants at different temperatures were obtained. Detailed thermodynamic analysis indicates that hydrophobic force is the main acting force between monastrol and centrin, and the extent of monastrol inhibition of centrin self-assembly is highly dependent upon the hydrophobic region of the protein, which is largely exposed by the binding of metal ions.

RESUMO

Cytotoxic T-lymphocyte antigen 4 (CTLA-4) is a potent immunoregulatory molecule that suppresses antitumor response by downregulating T cell activation. The most studied CTLA-4 +49A/G polymorphism has been associated with various cancers risks. However, little is known about the association between CTLA-4 +49A/G polymorphism and bladder cancer risk. A hospital-based case-control study was conducted in 300 patients with bladder cancer and 300 healthy controls matched with age and sex. The CTLA-4 +49A/G polymorphism was genotyped using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism. Patients with bladder cancer had a significantly lower frequency of CTLA-4 +49GG genotype [odds ratio (OR) = 0.44, 95 % confidence interval (CI) = 0.23, 0.85; P = 0.01] and G allele (OR = 0.73, 95 % CI = 0.56, 0.96; P = 0.02) than healthy controls. When stratifying by the stage, grade, and histological type of bladder cancer, we found no statistical association. This is the first study to highlight the significant association between CTLA-4 +49A/G polymorphism and bladder cancer risk. Additional studies are needed to confirm this finding.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To study the clinical effects of the modified formula of Bazhengsan on the urination symptoms of chronic prostatis with damp-heat accumulated in the lower jiao. METHODS: A total of 72 chronic prostatitis patients with damp-heat accumulated in the lower jiao were equally randomized to receive the modified formula of Bazhengsan (the trial group) and the primal Bazhengsan (the control group), both for a course of 28 days. Then we observed the changes in the NIH-CPSI scores, scores on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) syndrome, maximum flow rate of urine (MFR) and results of the expressed prostatic secretion test (EPS). RESULTS: Among the 31 patients of the trial group, 6 were cured, 10 achieved excellent results, 9 got improved, and 6 failed to respond, with a total efficacy rate of 80.6%. While in the control group, 4 were cured, 10 achieved excellent results, 11 got improved, and 7 failed to respond, with a total efficacy rate of 78.1%. Significant improvement was observed in NIH-CPSI scores, TCM syndrome and EPS results in both of the groups (P < 0.05), and the trial group showed significant difference from the control in the improvement of urination symptoms (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Modified Bazhengsan is effective in the treatment of chronic prostatis with damp-heat in the lower jiao. It can significantly improve its clinical symptoms, especially urination symptoms.
