RESUMO

We introduce an information-hiding camera integrated with an electronic decoder that is jointly optimized through deep learning. This system uses a diffractive optical processor, which transforms and hides input images into ordinary-looking patterns that deceive/mislead observers. This information-hiding transformation is valid for infinitely many combinations of secret messages, transformed into ordinary-looking output images through passive light-matter interactions within the diffractive processor. By processing these output patterns, an electronic decoder network accurately reconstructs the original information hidden within the deceptive output. We demonstrated our approach by designing information-hiding diffractive cameras operating under various lighting conditions and noise levels, showing their robustness. We further extended this framework to multispectral operation, allowing the concealment and decoding of multiple images at different wavelengths, performed simultaneously. The feasibility of our framework was also validated experimentally using terahertz radiation. This optical encoder-electronic decoder-based codesign provides a high speed and energy efficient information-hiding camera, offering a powerful solution for visual information security.

RESUMO

A fiber speckle sensor (FSS) based on a tapered multimode fiber (TMMF) has been developed to measure liquid analyte refractive index (RI) in this work. By the lateral and axial offset of input light into TMMF, several high-order modes are excited in TMMF, and the speckle pattern is spatially modulated, which affects an asymmetrical speckle pattern with a random intensity distribution at the output of TMMF. When the TMMF is immersed in the liquid analyte with RI variation, it influences the guided modes, as well as the mode interference, in TMMF. A digital image correlations method with zero-mean normalized cross-correlation coefficient is explored to digitize the speckle image differences, analyzing the RI variation. It is found that the lateral- and axial-offsets-induced speckle sensor can enhance the RI sensitivity from 6.41 to 19.52 RIU-1 compared to the one without offset. The developed TMMF speckle sensor shows an RI resolution of 5.84 × 10-5 over a linear response range of 1.3164 to 1.3588 at 1550 nm. The experimental results indicate the FSS provides a simple, efficient, and economic approach to RI sensing, which exhibits an enormous potential in the image-based ocean-sensing application.

RESUMO

To promote the popularization and development of hydrogen energy, a micro-simulation approach was developed to determine the Mie-Grüneisen EOS of 316 stainless steel for a hydrogen storage tank in the Hugoniot state. Based on the combination of the multi-scale shock technique (MSST) and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, a series of shock waves at the velocity of 6-11 km/s were applied to the single-crystal (SC) and polycrystalline (PC) 316 stainless steel model, and the Hugoniot data were obtained. The accuracy of the EAM potential for Fe-Ni-Cr was verified. Furthermore, Hugoniot curve, cold curve, Grüneisen coefficient (γ), and the Mie-Grüneisen EOS were discussed. In the internal pressure energy-specific volume (P-E-V) three-dimensional surfaces, the Mie-Grüneisen EOSs show concave characteristics. The maximum error of the calculation results of SC and PC is about 10%. The results for the calculation deviations of each physical quantity of the SC and PC 316 stainless steel indicate that the grain effect of 316 stainless steel is weak under intense dynamic loads, and the impact of the grains in the cold state increases with the increase in the volume compression ratio.

RESUMO

Multifunctional batteries have attracted increasing attention, offering additional functionalities beyond the conventional batteries. Herein, we report a fiber-shaped Zn ion battery that not only acts as a high-performance power supply but also provides a sensing function to monitor human motions. Titanium fiber coated with α-MnO2 nanoflowers is exploited as the cathode for the fiber-shaped Zn ion battery, taking full advantage of such unique three-dimensional nanoflower structures of α-MnO2 with a large electrochemically active surface area and fast electrochemical reaction kinetics. Thus, the obtained fiber-shaped Zn ion battery shows a high capacity of 280 mAh g-1 at 0.1 A g-1, resulting in a notable energy density of 396 Wh kg-1, good stability (capacity retention of 80.6% after 300 cycles), and high flexibility. As a demonstration, an electronic watch and five LEDs are successfully driven by two fiber-shaped Zn ion batteries. Furthermore, the fiber-shaped Zn ion battery is integrated with a strain sensor based on a carbon nanotube/polydimethylsiloxane film, offering good sensitivity to monitor motions of different body parts, such as the wrist, finger, elbow, and knee. This work provides insights into multifunctional battery applications for next-generation wearable electronics.
