RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: Resting heart rate (RHR) independently predicts cardiovascular death. Increased RHR is related to chronic diseases, but community-based studies are rare. We investigated this population and factors related to RHR. METHODS: In total, 374 participants underwent medical examinations from March 2019 to December 2019. Participants were divided into groups with low RHR (LRHR; <65 beats/minute) and high RHR (HRHR; ≥65 beats/minute). RHR was judged using resting electrocardiogram at physical examination. We conducted laboratory examinations, including glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), fasting plasma glucose (FPG), and blood lipids, among participants with chronic diseases. We used Cox proportional risk regression and multivariate analyses for the following covariates: previous chronic diseases, body mass index (BMI), smoking, blood lipids, and FPG. RESULTS: The incidence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and HbA1c values were both significantly higher in the HRHR group than in the LRHR group. Spearman correlation analysis showed RHR had a positive correlation with low-density lipoprotein, BMI, FPG, and HbA1c (r = 0.104574, 0.117266, 0.116041, and 0.311761, respectively). Multiple linear regression analysis showed age, hypertension, T2DM, and HbA1c were factors influencing RHR. CONCLUSION: RHR showed strong correlation with T2DM and HbA1c in our community population, suggesting that RHR may be a risk factor for cardiovascular disease.

RESUMO

High cholesterol is one of the important factors inducing cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Drug therapy is the main method for reducing cholesterol, but has the disadvantages such as high cost and side effects. Studies have shown that intestinal bacteria play important roles in cholesterol metabolism. However, there are few reports on the screening and functional evaluation of cholesterol-lowering intestinal bacteria. In this study, 36 bile-tolerant bacteria were screened from healthy people stool through culturomics using bovine bile acid or artificial mixed bile acids as substrates. Taking Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG) as a positive control, three bile acid concentration groups (0 g/L, 0.3 g/L, 3 g/L) were set up to evaluate the cholesterol-lowering ability of bile-tolerant bacteria in vitro. Ten bacteria (including Proteus mirabilis, Providencia stuartii, Proteus vulgaris et al) were identified as the dominant cholesterol-lowering bacteria. Six of the above bacteria, Proteus mirabilis, Providencia stuartii, Proteus vulgaris, Proteus penneri, Wohlfahrtiimonas chitiniclastica, Providencia rettger, were evaluated for their ability to reduce triglycerides in vitro and tolerance to artificial gastric juice. Comparing with strain LGG, the six bacteria showed better triglyceride-lowering ability in vitro. With the decrease of pH value of artificial gastric juice and the increase of treatment time, the survival rate of six bacteria decreased. The above screening experiments and functional evaluation provide a basis for further development of potential cholesterol-lowering bacterial products.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the impact of triptolide (TP) on proliferation and apoptosis of imatanib resistant CML cell (K562/G01) and its regulating effect on Wnt/β3-catenin signal pathway. Methods A series of 10,20,40,and 80 nmol/L of triptolide were used in CML cells K562/G01 for 12,24,and 48 hours. The cell proliferation was detected with methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) test. The apoptosis was assessed with flow cytometry (FCM).The mRNA expressions of breakpoint cluster region-c-abl (BCR-ABL),β-catenin and its down-stream targets Lef-1,and cyclinD1 were analyzed with real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR),respectively.Results Triptolide significantly inhibited K562/G01 cell growth ability and induced apoptosis in a dose-dependent manner.Mter being treated with 20,40 nmol/L TP for 24 hours, the cell growth inhibition rates were (22.62 ± 1.33) %,and (51.41 ±1.39) %,respectively. The late apuptosis rates were (6.91 ± 0.14) %,and (7.64 ± 0.47) %,respectively.Meanwhile,PCR data showed that the mRNA levels of BCR-ABL were decreased, compared to the control group, the mRNA levels of β-catenin,Lef-1,and cyclinD1 were also decreased obviously after treatment. Conclusions Our data indicated that the triptolide could inhibit the proliferation and induce the apoptosis of K562/G01,and the mechanism might be related to the blockade of Wnt/β-catenin signal pathway.

RESUMO

Scapulohumeral periarthritis, alternate name‘lujianfeng’or‘jianlingzheng’,is a common disease among the old.Balance acupuncture is a science of modern acupuncture based on the traditional theory of Chinese medicine. In order to sum up the references regarding the clinical treatment features and experimental study of balance acupuncture on scapulohumeral periarthritis in the past few decades. The review shows that as a new modern acupuncture method, balance acupuncture treating scapulohumeral periarthritis is worth to master, popularize to develop and innovate.
