In 1698 female workers aged 18-45 a relationship was sought between subjective symptoms of fatigue and factors which directly or indirectly could affect them: age, Hb level, relative body weight, health status, abundance of menstrual bleedings. In 199 women the number of sleep hours and stress in occupational work was taken into account. A strong relation was found between fatigue and age of women. The role of the remaining factors was evaluated after standardisation for age. The occurrence of fatigue was highly statistically dependent on the health status and abundance of menstrual bleedings. The other relations were less pronounced.

Minimal physical activity was used as a preliminary procedure before measuring some physiological parameters at rest. Minimal activity preceding the analyzed rest period causes a decrease in the mean heart rate (by 5.4%), respiratory rate (by 3.5%), O2 uptake (by 2.5%) and respiratory quotient in parallel determinations in the same individuals reducing particularly the standard deviations of mean values. These changes are similar to those found after prolonged training.
