RESUMO

We explore the FeRh magnetic phase transition (MPT) and magnetic phase domain (MPD) with the introduction of surface acoustic waves (SAWs). The effects of the SAW pulses with different pulse widths and powers on resistance-temperature loops are investigated, revealing that the SAW can reduce the thermal hysteresis. Meanwhile, the SAW-induced comb-like antiferromagnetic (AFM) phase domains are observed. By changing the pulse width and SAW frequency, we further realize a writing-erasing process of the different comb-like AFM phase domains in the mixed-phase regime of the cooling transition branch. Resistance measurements also display the repeated SAW writing-erasing and the nonvolatile characteristic clearly. MPT paths are measured to demonstrate that short SAW pulses induce isothermal MPT and write magnetic phase patterns via the dynamic strain, whereas long SAW pulses erase patterns via the acoustothermal effect. The Preisach model is introduced to model the FeRh MPT under the SAW pulses, and the calculated results correspond well with our experiments, which reveals the SAW-induced energy modulation promotes FeRh MPT. COMSOL simulations of the SAW strain field also support our results. Our study not only can be used to reduce the thermal hysteresis but also extends the application of the SAW as a tool to write and erase AFM patterns for spintronics and magnonics.

RESUMO

The hemorrhagic disease causing by grass carp reovirus (GCRV) infection, is associated with major economic losses and significant impact on aquaculture worldwide. VP4 of GCRV is one of the major outer capsid proteins which can induce an immune response in the host. In this study, pNZ8148-VP4/L. lactis was constructed to express recombinant VP4 protein of GCRV, which was confirmed by the Western-Blot and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Then we performed the oral immunization for rare minnow model and the challenge with GCRV-II. After oral administration, pNZ8148-VP4/L. lactis can continuously reside in the intestinal tract to achieve antigen presentation. The intestinal and spleen samples were collected at different time intervals after immunization, and the expression of immune-related genes was detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR. The results showed that VP4 recombinant L. lactis could induce complete cellular and humoral immune responses in the intestinal mucosal system, and effectively regulate the immunological effect of the spleen. The immunogenicity and the protective efficacy of the oral vaccine was evaluated by determining IgM levels and viral challenge to vaccinated fish, a significant level (P < 0.01) of antigen-specific IgM with GCRV-II neutralizing activity was able to be detected, which provided a effective protection in the challenge experiment. These results indicated that an oral probiotic vaccine with VP4 expression can provide effective protection for grass carp against GCRV-II challenge, suggesting a promising vaccine strategy for fish.

RESUMO

Hemorrhagic disease of grass carp, which is induced by grass carp reovirus II (GCRV-II), leads to mass mortality in grass carp culture and causes enormous economic loss. However, there is currently no quantitative analysis method for the detection of GCRV-II, which is greatly restricted the etiological and epidemiological study of the disease. In this study a reverse transcription TaqMan PCR (RT-qPCR) assay was developed for the quantitative detection of GCRV-II. The probe and primers targeted location is the segment 6 (S6) region of the GCRV-II genome which is highly conserved. Standard curves were drawn and criteria were confirmed after the determination of the optimum reaction conditions. The species-specific assay showed that the method is highly specific and has no cross reactions with other pathogens. The assay was sufficiently sensitive to detect as low as 10 copies of virus RNA. Moreover, the method has a very good repeatability for batches and inter-batches sample detection. Then the method was applied to detect the virus in tissue samples from clinically infected grass carp, compared with conventional RT-seminested PCR, the RT-qPCR represents a specific value for detection rate of positive samples. In summary, the RT-qPCR was applied and achieved high sensitivity and specificity for GCRV-II detection.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to evaluate the association of miR-126 with risk and severity of coronary artery disease (CAD) as well as its correlation with inflammatory cytokines and endothelial related proteins. METHODS: In total, 215 patients suspected of CAD who underwent coronary angiography were enrolled in this case control study and were divided into a CAD group (n = 119) and control group (n = 96). miR-126 relative expression was assessed by real-time polymerase chain reaction. RESULTS: The relative expression of miR-126 decreased in CAD patients compared to controls (p < 0.001), and the receiver operating characteristic curve showed a good diagnostic value of miR-126 for CAD risk with an area under the curve of 0.801 (95% CI 0.740-0.861). Additionally, miR-126 was negatively correlated with high-sensitivity C-reactive protein levels (p < 0.001) and reversely associated with TNF-α (p = 0.008) and IL-6 (p < 0.001) levels, while it was positively correlated with the IL-10 level (p < 0.001). In addition, miR-126 was negatively associated with intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1) levels (p = 0.001), and no association of miR-126 with vascular endothelial growth factor was detected (p = 0.142). Meanwhile, the miR-126 relative level was negatively associated with the Gensini score (p < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: Peripheral blood mononuclear cell miR-126 predicts risk and severity and correlates with inflammatory cytokines as well as ICAM-1 in patients with CAD.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: To evaluate the effects of quality scale for removable partial dentures (RPD)in clinical application. METHODS: Quality scale for removable partial dentures was designed. Twelve items were devised for visual survey and try-in in base, artificial teeth, clasp, rest, connector and adjustment. The assessments were divided into 3 grades A, B and C. Four commercial dental laboratories were divided into experimental group and control group randomly. All RPD made in two groups were given score with the quality scale by single-blind method. In the experimental group, the technicians were familiar with the quality scale. The assessments were periodically feedbacked to administrative staffs and exchanges were carried out between doctors and technicians by telephone. No feedback information was provided in the control group. The assessments were compared between the two groups. The data was analyzed with SPSS17.0 software package. RESULTS: The scores of assessments for base, artificial teeth, clasp, rest, connector and adjustment in the experimental group were greater than that in the control group. The difference was significant between the two groups by analysis of variance (P<0.01). The grade A and C for RPD used acrylic resin, flexible resin and cast framework in the experimental group was 27.2%,39.5%,40.6% and 9.2%, 7.9%,7.2%, respectively. The grade B was in the majority. In the control group, the grade A and C was 9.4%,15.6%,15% and 40.6%,23.6%,25%,respectively. The majority was grade B and the grade C was significantly higher than the experimental group(P<0.05). CONCLUSION: Applying the quality scale of RPD can improve the fabricating quality of prosthesis.
