RESUMO

The shape of the salt cavern is very important for the safe operation of gas storage facilities in rock salt. A physical simulation test is an effective means to study the shape control of salt caverns. To accurately simulate the process and parameters of single-well solution mining in rock salt, we developed simulation technologies and a testing system for cavern shape control. Based on the flow similarity principle, we established a sealing technology for dynamic-static disturbance and successfully replicated the solution mining process for forward and reverse circulations. Based on the requirement of protective fluid in the field, we developed a protection liquid unit to control the oil pad height to avoid overdissolution or uneven dissolution at the top of the salt cavern. From the principle of distance determination by laser and video, we developed a salt cavern shape visualization and micro-distance detection system that can realize the size measurement and real-time visualization of the salt cavern in pressurized corrosive environment. We put forward the control technology of the testing system that can achieve the integrated and collaborative control of inner and outer pipe spacing, water flow during injection-production circulations, and the height of protection fluid. Finally, we carried out a physical simulation test of solution mining for cavern shape control. The shape and size of the salt cavern from the test are in good agreement with the design. This study can provide an important basis for determining the optimal solution in mining technology and the parameters for cavern shape control.

RESUMO

Underground gas storages (UGSs) are important large-scale industrial facilities used to bridge the gap between natural gas consumption and supply. The cyclic operation of the UGS may alter the subsurface stresses and local seismicity. We examined seismicity around the Hutubi UGS from 2011 to 2019 using the matched filter technique (MFT) and double-difference location methods. More than 1300 earthquakes were detected with seismicity around the UGS showing a remarkable increase since the start of its operation and showing a clear correlation to seasonal gas production. About 684 detected earthquakes were located, most of them occurred within 6 km of the reservoir. The events can be grouped into two clusters. Both clusters initiated around the gas pressure boundary. The first cluster extinct after the first injection period. While the second cluster diffused upward along a pre-existing fault. We speculate that strain localization caused by non-uniform gas injection contributes to the initiation of seismicity clusters around the UGS, and the trapped crude oil/gas played an important role in the migration of the second surge. The revealed seismicity pattern contributes to a better understanding of the mechanism of induced seismic events and emphasizes the importance of seismic monitoring in the UGS region.

RESUMO

The issue of monitoring and early warning of rock instability has received increasing critical attention in the study of rock engineering. To investigate the damage evolution process of granite under triaxial compression tests, acoustic emission (AE) tests were performed simultaneously. This study firstly introduced two novel parameters, i.e., the coefficient of variation (CoV) of the information entropy and correlation dimension of the amplitude data from the AE tests, to identify the precursor of the failure of granite. Then the relationship between the changes in these parameters and the stress-time curve was compared and analyzed. The results of this study show that: (1) There is a strong correlation between the CoV of the information entropy and the failure process of granite. The granite failed when the CoV curve raised to a plateau, which could be used as an indicator of rock instability. (2) The fluctuation of the correlation dimension indicates the different stages during the loading process, i.e., the initial compaction stage, the linear elastic stage, the yield stage, and the failure stage. Each stage contains a descending and a rising process in the correlation dimension curve, and the exhibited starting point or the bottom point at the correlation dimension curve could be selected as the indicator point for the rock instability. (3) The combined analysis of the Information entropy and Correlation dimension can improve the accuracy of rock instability prediction. This study provides new insights into the prediction of rock instability, which has theoretical implications for the stability of subsurface engineering rock masses.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Crocin, an active constituent of saffron, has anticancer activity. In this study, we investigated the relationship of Crocin with human gastric epithelial cells induced by 1-methyl-3-nitroso-1-nitroguanidine (MNNG), and explored the underlying mechanism. METHODS: In vivo, the animal growth and atypical hyperplasia were observed in Sprague-Dawley rats. A cell model was established by treating the human gastric mucosa epithelial cell line GES-1 with MNNG. The effects of Crocin on proliferation, cell cycle, apoptosis, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in GES-1 cells were analyzed using Cell Counting Kit-8, colony formation, flow cytometry, and Transwell assay, respectively. Western blot was used to explore the potential mechanism.. RESULTS: The gastric mucosa of animal model deteriorated obviously, the weight growth rate slowed down, and the atypical hyperplasia of gastric mucosa increased. The GES-1 cells had characteristics of malignant cells such as proliferation, apoptosis, and metastasis ability. It was found that Crocin suppressed the cell proliferation, increased apoptosis, and blocked the cycle arrest in G0/G1 phase simultaneously. Furthermore, Crocin negatively regulated the invasion ability of MNNG-treated GES-1 cells and EMT process. Crocin also increased the expression of nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) and heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1), decreased TAZ in MNNG-treated GES-1 cells. Interestingly, Crocin regulated the expression of TAZ and yes-associated protein (YAP) by increasing Nrf2 level, as well as their upstream targets, mercaptopyruvate sulfurtransferase (MST) and large tumor suppressor (LATS). CONCLUSIONS: Crocin protected against MNNG-induced malignant transformation through the Nrf2/Hippo signaling pathway, which might be a drug candidate for clinical gastric cancer management.
