RESUMO

The integrated process of design and fabrication is invariably of particular interest and important to improve the quality and reduce the production cycle for structural joints, which are key components for connecting members and transferring loads in structural systems. In this work, using the generative design method, a pioneering idea was successfully realized to attain a reasonable configuration of the cross joints, which was then consecutively manufactured using 3D printing technology. Firstly, the initial model and generation conditions of a cross joint were constructed by the machine learning-based generative design algorithm, and hundreds of models were automatically generated. Then, based on the design objective and cost index of the cross joint, three representative joints were selected for further numerical analysis to verify the advantages of generative design. Finally, 3D printing was utilized to produce generative joints; the influences of printing parameters on the quality of 3D printing are further discussed in this paper. The results show that the cross joints from the generative design method have varied and innovative configurations and the best static behaviors. 3D printing technology can enhance the accuracy of cross joint fabrication. It is viable to utilize the integrated process of generative design and 3D printing to design and manufacture cross joints.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVETo study the mental developments in high risk children and the impact of the high risk factors on neurologic abnormalities, mental defect and long-term outcome.

METHODSThe mental development of 122 children who had been exposed to high-risk factors and treated between March 1994 to May 1995 during their newborn periods was evaluated. Gesell development scales were performed when they were at 6 and 12 months old. And Wechsler intelligence scales for children (Chinese version) were performed at 6 approximately 7 years old.

RESULTSThe children exposed to hypoglycemia during their newborn period and preterm labor had significantly lower IQ, VIQ and PIQ scores (P <0.05). The other risk factors in order were low birth weight, severe anoxia, asphyxia at birth, erythrocythemia, hyperbilirubinemia. There was significant difference between the children exposed to one risk factor and those exposed to two or more risk factors (P <0.05). And there was significant correlation between developmental assessment at 6 and 12 months and mental development at 6 approximately 7 years old (P<0.01).

CONCLUSIONThe impact of the high risk factors at birth on children's mental development is not negligible. And the risk of development abnormalities will increase if the children were exposed to multiple risk factors. The evaluation of development at 6 approximately 12 months is of predictive value for long-term outcome.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVETo prepare and characterize the heavy metal reference material of radix salvia planted in Zhongjiang, Sichuan province under the good agricultural procedure (GAP).

METHODAfter being prepared, the reference material was digested with 65% HNO3 and H2O2 by microwave-assisted oven systems, and the heavy metals in Radix salvia reference material were accurately determined by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS).

RESULTThe measuring method was validated by running certificated reference materials, including bush twigs and leaves (GBW07602) and tea twigs and leaves (GBW07605) under the same conditions. The recoveries of the elements mostly ranged from 90% to 110%, and the RSD was within 5%. The measurement of radix salvia reference material was carried out by different laboratories with ICP-MS and by several time intervals in one year for the stability. The results showed that the concentration of the heavy metals provided were accurate and the reference material was stable.

CONCLUSIONThe reference material is suitable to be the criterions of heavy metals for radix salvia in the qualities controlling, and is also suitable to be the criterion of poisonous heavy metals of other herbs in the administration of GAP.
