RESUMO

The widespread use of chemical herbicides has jeopardized concerns about food safety and ecological consequences. To address these issues and reduce reliance on chemical herbicides, a physical weed control device was developed for the tillering stage in paddy fields. This device features a biomimetic duckbill-like vibration chain that effectively controls weed outbreaks. The chain penetrates the soft surface soil of the paddy field under gravity and rapidly stirs the soil through vibration, leading to the detachment of the weed roots anchored in the surface layer. Simultaneously, the device avoids mechanical damage to rice seedlings rooted in deeper soil. This study aimed to investigate the effects of chain structural parameters (the number of chain rows, vibration amplitude, and length of chains) and operational parameters (vibration frequency and working velocity) on weed control efficiency and rice seedling damage. Through a central composite regression field test, the optimal device structure and operational parameters were determined. The optimization results demonstrated that a vibration amplitude of 78.8 mm, a chain length of 93.47 cm, and 3.4 rows of chains, along with a vibration frequency and working velocity ranging from 0.5 to 1.25 m/s, achieved an optimal weeding effect. Under the optimal parameter combination, field test results demonstrated that approximately 80% of the weeds in the field were effectively cleared. This indicates that the design of the biomimetic duckbill-like vibration chain weeding device exhibits a relatively superior weeding performance, offering a practical solution for the management of weeds in rice fields.

LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 (LNCMO) cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) were prepared by the hydrothermal synthesis of precursors and high-temperature calcination. The effect of precursor hydrothermal synthesis temperature on the microstructures and electrochemical cycling performances of the Ni-rich LNCMO cathode materials were investigated by SEM, XRD, XPS and electrochemical tests. The results showed that the cathode material prepared using the precursor synthesized at a hydrothermal temperature of 220 °C exhibited the best charge/discharge cycle stability, whose specific capacity retention rate reached 81.94% after 50 cycles. Such enhanced cyclic stability of LNCMO was directly related to the small grain size, high crystallinity and structural stability inherited from the precursor obtained at 220 °C.

In the last decade, the phylogenetic relationships within the genus Triplophysa have become controversial, due to a lack of molecular data. The mitochondrial genome plays a vital role in the reconstruction of phylogenetic relationships and in revealing the molecular evolution of bony fishes. Herein, we obtained the complete mitogenome of Triplophysa bombifrons via HiFi reads of the Pacbio Sequel II system and DNBSEQ short-reads. We compared all available mitogenomes of the Triplophysa genus and reconstructed the phylogeny of Nemacheilidae, based on the mitogenomes, using maximum likelihood (ML) methods. The results show that the complete mitogenome sequence of T. bombifrons was circular and 16,568 bp in length, including 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA (tRNA), 2 ribosomal RNA (rRNA), and a typical control region (D-loop). The most common start codons were ATG, except for cox1, and TAA/TAG were the stop codons for all PCGs. In total, 677 SNPs and 9 INDELs have been found by comparing the sequence divergence between this study and previous reports. Purity selection was found in all PCGs. Phylogeny was inferred by analyzing the 13 PCGs and the concatenated nucleotide sequences of 30 mitogenomes. The phylogenetic analyses based on the nucleotides of the 13 PCGs supported the assumption that the Triplophysa genus can be divided into 4 main clades and demonstrated that T. bombifrons and T. tenuis are closely related species for the first time. This study laid the foundation for further study on the mitogenome and phylogeny of Nemacheilidae fishes.

The COVID-19 epidemic has damaged developing as well as developed economies and reduced the profitability of several companies. Technological advancement plays a vital role in the company's performance in this current situation. All activities carry on virtually. In this study, the financial performance of enterprises in the South Asian banking industry will be compared before and after the COVID-19 epidemic. Furthermore, the full influence of the pandemic will take place in the long run. This study also explains the technological effect on improving performance, especially during the period of the COVID-19 pandemic. It has an impact on people's social lives as well as the economic world. This study examined a sample of 34 banks from the South Asian region from 2016 to 2021. A Wilcox rank test was used to determine whether there was a significant difference before and after the epidemic era. The overall conclusion of this study is that the COVID-19 pandemic had a significant influence on the bank's financial performance, particularly in terms of profitability. But technological advancement has a positive effect on organizational performance, ultimately increasing the financial performance of South Asian banks. And there is a big difference between pre-pandemic and post-pandemic organizational performance. The findings of this study have significant policy implications since it is clear that cooperation among governments, banks, regulatory agencies, and central banks is necessary to address the financial and economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
