RESUMO

Introduction: The lack of osteoinductive, angiogenic and antimicrobial properties of hydroxyapatite coatings (HA) on titanium surfaces severely limits their use in orthopedic and dental implants. Therefore, we doped SiO2, Gd2O3 and CeO2 nanoparticles into HA to fabricate a HASiGdCe coating with a combination of decent antibacterial, angiogenic and osteogenic properties by the plasma spraying technique. Methods: The HASiGdCe coating was analyzed by SEM (EDS), surface roughness tests, contact angle tests, XRD, FTIR spectroscopy, tensile tests and electrochemical dynamic polarization tests. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (PAO-1) were used as representative bacteria to verify the antibacterial properties of the HASiGdCe coating. We evaluated the cytocompatibility and in vitro osteoinductivity of the HASiGdCe coating by investigating its effect on the cell viability and osteogenic differentiation of MC3T3-E1 cells. We assessed the in vitro angiogenic activity of the HASiGdCe coating by migration assay, tube formation assay, and RT‒PCR analysis of angiogenic genes in HUVECs. Finally, we used infected animal femur models to investigate the biosafety, antimicrobial and osteointegration properties of the HASiGdCe coating in vivo. Results: Through various characterization experiments, we demonstrated that the HASiGdCe coating has suitable microscopic morphology, physical phase characteristics, bonding strength and bioactivity to meet the coating criteria for orthopedic implants. The HASiGdCe coating can release Gd3+ and Ce4+, showing strong antibacterial properties against MRSA and PAO-1. The HASiGdCe coating has been shown to have superior osteogenic and angiogenic properties compared to the HA coating in in vitro cellular experiments. Animal implantation experiments have shown that the HASiGdCe coating also has excellent biosafety, antimicrobial and osteogenic properties in vivo. Conclusion: The HASiGdCe coating confers excellent antibacterial, angiogenic and osteogenic properties on titanium implants, which can effectively enhance implant osseointegration and prevent bacterial infections, and it accordingly has promising applications in the treatment of bone defects related to orthopedic and dental sciences.

RESUMO

Most clothing recommendation methods have problems such as high resource consumption and inconsistent subjectively labeled clothing labels. Based on this, a multilabel classification algorithm based on deep learning (DL) theory is introduced, based on which the clothing style recognition model is constructed. Next, the concept of the decision tree algorithm is given, and the clothing recommendation model is built based on this algorithm. Moreover, the clothing style recognition model based on a multilabel classification algorithm and the clothing recommendation system based on a decision tree algorithm are tested by building simulation experiments and combining neural network technology. Finally, the application of the decision tree algorithm and DL theory in clothing recommendation design is studied through the literature collection method. The research focus is to realize the recognition of clothing through decision tree algorithm and DL method to achieve the intelligent recommendation of clothing style. The results show that: (1) the neural network technology in DL theory can realize efficient recognition and classification of clothing style by automatically extracting image features and combining with a multilabel classification algorithm. (2) The decision tree algorithm can make an initial recommendation according to users' style preferences, then make implicit recommendations through user retrieval, browsing, and other operations, and make dynamic clothing style recommendations to users. (3) When the neural network based on a multilabel classification algorithm is trained, the precision, recall rate, and F1 values are 0.73, 0.43, and 0.55, respectively. (4) After using the clothing recommendation system based on the decision tree algorithm, the subjects' average satisfaction is 86.25%, indicating that this system can give users a better clothing recommendation experience. This exploration aims to provide a crucial reference for further improving the quality of clothing recommendation services. It has important theoretical significance and practical value for the development of artificial intelligence in the field of fashion design, and is expected to provide a reference for the development of bionics.

RESUMO

Designing in-plane supercapacitors with high electrode materials selectivity is an indispensable approach to improve electrochemical performance. In this work, a facile template method was employed to fabricate in-plane supercapacitors. This template method could select any electrochemical active materials as electrode materials of in-plane supercapacitors. Hence, a high electrochemical performance material Mn-Co LDO-2S with optimized metal-sulfur bonds proportion and abundant sulfur vacancies was employed as electrode material of symmetrical in-plane supercapacitor (SPS). SPS exhibits excellent electrochemical performance finally, and has considerable area energy density 55.0µWh cm-2with an area power density of 0.7 mW cm-2. As a result, introducing sulfur atoms and sulfur vacancies are efficient approaches to improve electrode materials' electrochemical performance, and template method that proposed in this work is a promising approach to widen selectivity of in-plane supercapacitors' electrode materials.

RESUMO

Moiré superlattices (MSLs) of two-dimensional (2D) van der Waals materials have attracted considerable attention in recent years; however, studies of bottom-up growth of twisted MSL structures via solution-processed crystallization are rarely reported. Through facile one-pot solvothermal synthesis, here we demonstrate a nonclassical surfactant/nanosheet-co-mediated crystallization pathway for formation of MSL structures with two models of SnS2 and SnSe2. Our experimental results reveal that attractive interactions between 2D inorganic building blocks and surfactant organic molecules during the initial stage of crystallization are crucial to drive surfactant-covered nanosheets to crystallize into molecule-intercalated nanosheet aggregates. Under the high-pressure condition, further crystallograpic fusion can occur if the reaction time is prolonged, which alters the interactions of adjacent layers during the coalescence of small-grain-size 2D domains due to insertion of foreign molecules, leading to interlayer rotations. This work uncovers an interesting organic-inorganic cocrystallization growth mode and provides a novel pathway for large-scale fabrication of MSLs.

RESUMO

Integrating the battery behavior and supercapacitor behavior in a single electrode to obtain better electrochemical performance has been widely researched. However, there is still a lack of research studies on an integrated battery-capacitor supercapacitor electrode (BatCap electrode). In this work, an integrated BatCap electrode porous carbon-coated Mn-Ni-layered double oxide (Mn-Ni LDO-C) was fabricated successfully using controllable heat treatment of polypyrrole-precoated Mn-Ni-layered double hydroxide (Mn-Ni LDH@PPy). This Mn-Ni LDO-C electrode was grown on Ni foam directly and possessed a hierarchical structure that consisted of a pyridinic N (N-6)-doped porous carbon shell and a Mn-Ni LDO core within abundant oxygen vacancies. Benefiting from the synergistic effect of N-6-doped porous carbon and increased oxygen vacancies, Mn-Ni LDO-C exhibited excellent electrochemical performance. The capacity of Mn-Ni LDO-C reached 2.36 C cm-2 (1478.1 C g-1) at 1 mA cm-2 and remained at 92.1% of the initial capacity after 5000 cycles at a current density of 20 mA cm-2. The aqueous battery-supercapacitor hybrid device Mn-Ni LDO-C//active carbon (Mn-Ni LDO-C//AC) also presented superior cycle stability: it retained 85.3% of the original capacity after 5000 cycles at 2 A g-1. Meanwhile, Mn-Ni LDO-C//AC could work normally under a wider potential window (2.0 V), so that the device held the highest energy density of 78.2 Wh kg-1 at a power density of 499.7 W kg-1 and retained 39.1 Wh kg-1 at the highest power density of 31.3 kW kg-1. Two Mn-Ni LDO-C//AC devices connected in series could light a light-emitting diode (LED) bulb easily and keep the LED brightly illuminated for more than 10 min. In general, this work synthesized an integrated BatCap electrode Mn-Ni LDO-C; the integrated electrode exhibited high electrochemical performance, thus has a promising application prospect in the field of energy storage.

RESUMO

We have created a new, fast-growing strain of common carp with higher unsaturated fatty acid content in muscle. To better understand the impacts of gene regulation in intestinal tissue on growth and unsaturated fatty acid content, we conducted a comparative RNA-Seq transcriptome analysis between intestine samples of Selected and Control groups (and corroborated selected results by PCR). After eight weeks of cage culture, weight gain of the Selected group was 20.84% higher. In muscles of the control group, monounsaturated fatty acids (FAs) were more abundant, whereas polyunsaturated FAs were more abundant in muscles of the Selected group. In total, we found 106 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between the two groups. Only the endocytosis pathway was significantly enriched in DEGs, with two upregulated genes: il2rb and ehd1. The latter is involved in the growth hormone/insulin-like growth factor (Gh/Igf) axis, which plays a key role in the regulation of growth in animals. tll2, which is known to be associated with intestinal regeneration, was extremely highly upregulated in both transcriptomic (infinite) and qPCR (610.70) analyses. Two of the upregulated genes are associated with the fatty acid metabolism, several genes are likely to be indicators of heightened transcription levels, several are associated with metabolic and developmental roles, several with neuronal functions (including two with vision), several with the immune system, and two downregulated genes with the development of vasculature. The higher growth rate of the Selected group is likely to be at least partially attributed to increased endocytosis efficiency and genetically-driven behavioural differences (higher aggression levels). There are some indications that this new strain might have slightly impaired immune responses, and a higher propensity for inherited diseases leading to sight impairment, as well for neurodegenerative diseases in general, but these indications still need to be confirmed.

RESUMO

Parabreviscolexniepini is a recently described caryophyllidean monozoic tapeworm from schizothoracine fish on the Tibetan Plateau. In the present study, the complete mitochondrial genome of P.niepini is determined for the first time. The mitogenome is 15,034 bp in length with an A+T content of 59.6%, and consists of 12 protein-encoding genes, 22 tRNA genes, two rRNA genes, and two non-coding regions. The secondary structure of tRNAs exhibit the conventional cloverleaf structure, except for trnS1 (AGN) and trnR, which lack DHU arms. The anti-codon of trnS1 (AGN) in the mitogenome of P.niepini is TCT. The two major non-coding regions, 567 bp and 1428 bp in size, are located between trnL2 and cox2, trnG and cox3, respectively. The gene order of P.niepini shows a consistent pattern with other caryophyllideans. Phylogenetic analysis based on mitogenomic data indicates that P.niepini has a close evolutionary relationship with tapeworms Breviscolexorientalis and Atractolytocestushuronensis.

RESUMO

The complete mitochondrial genome sequence of the Aetobatus flagellum is 20,201 bp long and consists of 13 protein-coding genes, 22 tRNA genes, 2 rRNA genes and 1 control region (CR). The base composition of the genome is 30.9% A, 28.2% T, 27.1% C and 13.8% G. Comparing mtDNA of elasmobranchs submitted in NCBI, our study not only identified the longest mitochondrial genome with 4490 bp CR in A. flagellum, but also strongly revealed that records in the northwest Pacific may belong to a separate species from those distributed in Indonesia.

RESUMO

The intestinal microbiota has received increasing attention, as it influences growth, feed conversion, epithelial development, immunity as well as the intrusion of pathogenic microorganisms in the intestinal tract. In this study, pyrosequencing was used to explore the bacterial community of the intestine in gibel carp (Carassius auratus gibelio), and the origin of these microorganisms. The results disclosed great bacterial diversities in the carp intestines and cultured environments. The gibel carp harbored characteristic intestinal microbiota, where Proteobacteria were predominant, followed by Firmicutes. The analysis on the 10 most abundant bacterial operational taxonomic units (OTUs) revealed a majority of Firmicutes in the intestinal content (by decreasing order: Veilonella sp., Lachnospiraceae, Lactobacillales, Streptococcus sp., and Lactobacillus sp.). The second most abundant OTU was Rothia sp. (Actinobacteria). The most likely potential probiotics (Lactobacillus sp., and Bacillus sp.) and opportunists (Aeromonas sp., and Acinetobacter sp.) were not much abundant. Bacterial community comparisons showed that the intestinal community was closely related to that of the sediment, indicating the importance of sediment as source of gut bacteria in gibel carp. However, 37.95 % of the OTUs detected in feed were retrieved in the intestine, suggesting that food may influence markedly the microbiota of gibel carp, and therefore may be exploited for oral administration of probiotics.

RESUMO

Dasyatis bennettii is a bottom-dweller that inhabits in the coastal waters of the Indian and Pacific Oceans as well as the freshwaters of Southern China. In this study, we determined the complete mitochondrial genome of this species of stingrays. The results showed that the total length of the mitogenome was 17,668 bp as a circular DNA and contained 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNA genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes, and 1 control region. The base composition of the complete mitochondrial DNA was 31.1% A, 28.7% T, 26.7% C, and 13.5% G. All the genes in D. bennettii were distributed on the H-strand, except for the ND6 subunit gene and eight tRNA genes which were encoded on the L-strand.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: To quantitatively evaluate the safety and related-toxicities of intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) dose-volume histograms (DVHs), as compared to the conventional three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3D-CRT), in gynecologic malignancy patients by systematic review of the related publications and meta-analysis. METHODS: Relevant articles were retrieved from the PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases up to August 2011. Two independent reviewers assessed the included studies and extracted data. Pooled average percent irradiated volumes of adjacent non-cancerous tissues were calculated and compared between IMRT and 3D-CRT for a range of common radiation doses (5-45 Gy). RESULTS: In total, 13 articles comprised of 222 IMRT-treated and 233 3D-CRT-treated patients were included. For rectum receiving doses ≥30 Gy, the IMRT pooled average irradiated volumes were less than those from 3D-CRT by 26.40% (30 Gy, p = 0.004), 27.00% (35 Gy, p = 0.040), 37.30% (40 Gy, p = 0.006), and 39.50% (45 Gy, p = 0.002). Reduction in irradiated small bowel was also observed for IMRT-delivered 40 Gy and 45 Gy (by 17.80% (p = 0.043) and 17.30% (p = 0.012), respectively), as compared with 3D-CRT. However, there were no significant differences in the IMRT and 3D-CRT pooled average percent volumes of irradiated small bowel or rectum from lower doses, or in the bladder or bone marrow from any of the doses. IMRT-treated patients did not experience more severe acute or chronic toxicities than 3D-CRT-treated patients. CONCLUSIONS: IMRT-delivered high radiation dose produced significantly less average percent volumes of irradiated rectum and small bowel than 3D-CRT, but did not differentially affect the average percent volumes in the bladder and bone marrow.
