RESUMO

To explores the effect and mechanism of quiet eye training on the accuracy of golfers´ putts in pressure situations and provides methods and basis for targeted attention training and control. 22 young golfers in China golf team aged from 13 to 18 were randomly assigned to the experimental group (quiet eye training group) and the control group (technical guidance group) according to gender. Both groups of participants underwent two consecutive weeks of push training (3 sets per day, 20 golf putts per set, rest for 3 min between sets) separately in accordance with the guidance of a professional psychological research group and an expert coach. Eye tracking technology, biofeedback technology, and subjective evaluation methods were used to test and analyze the push process of the two groups of participants before and after training under pressure situations (Eye movement behaviors and the heart rate were recorded by ASL Mobile Eye-XG and NeXus-2 biofeedback, pressure and state anxiety were evaluated by self-rating pressure scale and S-AI. Golf putting performance was recorded by a research graduate assistant). A higher hit ratio as well as lower pressure and SAI level was founded in quiet eye training group in the pressure situation, the quiet eye movement time and total fixation time was longer than technical group. The quiet eye training group has a better putting performance. Quiet eye training can improve the golf putting performance in pressure situations. After quiet eye training, the state anxiety decreased, the quiet eye movement time and the total fixation time increased in pressure situations.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), exhibiting high morbidity and malignancy, is the most common type of oral cancer. The abnormal expression of RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) plays important roles in the occurrence and progression of cancer. The objective of the present study was to establish a prognostic assessment model of RBPs and to evaluate the prognosis of OSCC patients. METHODS: Gene expression data in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) were analyzed by univariate Cox regression analysis model that established a novel nine RBPs, which were used to build a prognostic risk model. A multivariate Cox proportional regression model and the survival analysis were used to evaluate the prognostic risk model. Moreover, the receive operator curve (ROC) analysis was tested further the efficiency of prognostic risk model based on data from TCGA database and Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO). RESULTS: Nine RBPs' signatures (ACO1, G3BP1, NMD3, RNGTT, ZNF385A, SARS, CARS2, YARS and SMAD6) with prognostic value were identified in OSCC patients. Subsequently, the patients were further categorized into high-risk group and low-risk in the overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS), and external validation dataset. ROC analysis was significant for both the TCGA and GEO. Moreover, GSEA revealed that patients in the high-risk group significantly enriched in many critical pathways correlated with tumorigenesis than the low, including cell cycle, adheres junctions, oocyte meiosis, spliceosome, ERBB signaling pathway and ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis. CONCLUSIONS: Collectively, we developed and validated a novel robust nine RBPs for OSCC prognosis prediction. The nine RBPs could serve as an independent and reliable prognostic biomarker and guiding clinical therapy for OSCC patients.

RESUMO

The emergence of the wide-band-gap semiconductor Ga2O3 has propelled it to the forefront of solar blind detection activity owing to its key features. Although various architectures and designs of Ga2O3-based solar blind photodetectors have been proposed, their performance still falls short of commercial standards. In this study, we demonstrate a method to enhance the performance of a simple metal-semiconductor-metal-structured Ga2O3-based solar blind photodetector by exciting acoustic surface waves. Specifically, we demonstrate that under a bias voltage of 100 mV and a radio frequency signal of 20 dBm, the responsivity and detectivity can increase from 2.78 to 1.65 × 104 A/W and from 8.35 × 1014 to 2.66 × 1016 jones, respectively, rivaling a commercial photomultiplier tube. The over 5 × 103-fold enhancement in responsivity could be attributed to the acousto-photoelectric coupling mechanism. Furthermore, since surface acoustic waves can also serve as signal receivers, such photodetectors offer the prospect of dual-mode detection. Our findings reveal a promising pathway for achieving high-performance Ga2O3-based electronics and optoelectronics.

RESUMO

Internal carotid artery congenital absence with acute embolism of the middle cerebral artery trunk is very rare. A 65-year-old female with a history of hypertension and atrial fibrillation was admitted to the neurology department of our hospital. Computed tomography of the head and neck showed no carotid canal of the petrous portion of the temporal bone; digital subtraction angiography (DSA) showed no left internal carotid artery and the right middle cerebral artery trunk occlusion. These results suggested acute embolism of the middle cerebral artery trunk with contralateral internal carotid artery congenital absence. Mechanical thrombectomy was performed, which had a good outcome. This case showed the vascular anatomy features of ICA congenital absence with contralateral large vessel acute occlusion, and it is essential to promptly identify the vascular variation during the interventional procedure.

RESUMO

Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is a common malignant tumor of the digestive tract. The most effective method of reducing the disease burden in areas with a high incidence of esophageal cancer is to prevent the disease from developing into invasive cancer through screening. Endoscopic screening is key for the early diagnosis and treatment of ESCC. However, due to the uneven professional level of endoscopists, there are still many missed cases because of failure to recognize lesions. In recent years, along with remarkable progress in medical imaging and video evaluation technology based on deep machine learning, the development of artificial intelligence (AI) is expected to provide new auxiliary methods of endoscopic diagnosis and the treatment of early ESCC. The convolution neural network (CNN) in the deep learning model extracts the key features of the input image data using continuous convolution layers and then classifies images through full-layer connections. The CNN is widely used in medical image classification, and greatly improves the accuracy of endoscopic image classification. This review focuses on the AI-assisted diagnosis of early ESCC and prediction of early ESCC invasion depth under multiple imaging modalities. The excellent image recognition ability of AI is suitable for the detection and diagnosis of ESCC and can reduce missed diagnoses and help endoscopists better complete endoscopic examinations. However, the selective bias used in the training dataset of the AI system affects its general utility.

RESUMO

Ga2O3-based solar blind avalanche photodetectors exhibit low voltage operation, optical filter-free and monolithic integration of photodetector arrays, and therefore they are promising to be an alternative to the bulky and fragile photomultiplier tubes for weak signal detection in deep-ultraviolet region. Here, by deliberate lattice and band engineering, we construct an n-Barrier-n unipolar barrier avalanche photodetector consisting of ß-Ga2O3/MgO/Nb:SrTiO3 heterostructure, in which the enlarged conduction band offsets fortify the reverse breakdown and suppress the dark current while the negligible valance band offsets faciliate minority carrier flow across the heterojunction. The developed devices exhibit record-high avalanche gain up to 5.9 × 105 and detectivity of 2.33 × 1016 Jones among the reported wafer-scale grown Ga2O3-based photodetectors, which are even comparable to the commercial photomultiplier tubes. These findings provide insights into precise manipulation of band alignment in avalanche photodetectors, and also offer exciting opportunities for further developing high-performance Ga2O3-based electronics and optoelectronics.

RESUMO

To investigate correlations between environmental and meteorological factors and frequency of presentation for coronary heart disease (CHD) in Beijing. Daily measurements of levels of six atmospheric pollutants were made, data relating to meteorological conditions collected, and CHD-related outpatient visits recorded from January 2015 to December 2019 in Beijing. A time-series analysis was made, using a generalized additive model with Poisson distribution, and R 3.6.3 software was used to estimate relationships among levels of atmospheric pollutants, ambient temperature, and visits occasioned by CHD. Results were controlled for time-dependent trend, other weather variables, day of the week, and holiday effects. Lag-response curves were plotted for specific and incremental cumulative effects of relative risk (RR). The aim was to correlate meteorological-environmental factors and the daily number of CHD-related hospital visits and to quantify the degree of correlation to identify any pathological associations. Response diagrams and three-dimensional diagrams of predicted exposure lag effects were constructed in order to evaluate relationships among the parameters of air pollution, temperature, and daily CHD visits. The fitted model was employed to predict the lag RR and 95% confidence interval (95% CI) for specific and incremental cumulative effects of random air pollutants at random concentrations. This model may then be used to predict effects on the outcome variable at any concentration of any defined pollutant, giving flexibility for public health purposes. The overall lag-response RR curves for the specific cumulative effects of the pollutants, particulate matter (PM)2.5, PM10, SO2, CO, and NO2, were statistically significant and for PM2.5, PM10, CO, and NO2, the overall lag-response RR curves for the incremental cumulative effect were statistically significant. When PM2.5, PM10, SO2, CO, and NO2 concentrations were above threshold values and the temperature was below 45 °F (reference value 70 °F), the number of CHD-related hospital visits increased with a time lag effect. The outpatient volume of CHD was predicted by the model to guide the flexible distribution of medical resources. Elevated PM2.5, PM10, SO2, CO, and NO2 concentrations in the atmosphere combined and low ambient temperature increased the risk of CHD with a time lag effect.

RESUMO

This research aims to develop a prognostic glioma marker based on m6A/m5C/m1A genes and investigate the potential role in the tumor immune microenvironment. Data for patients with glioma were downloaded from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Chinese Glioma Genome Atlas (CGGA). The expression of genes related to m6A/m5C/m1A was compared for normal and glioma groups. Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Gene enrichment analysis of differentially expressed genes were conducted. Consistent clustering analysis was performed to obtain glioma subtypes and complete the survival analysis and immune analysis. Based on TCGA, Lasso regression analysis was used to obtain a prognostic model, and the CGGA database was used to validate the model. The model-based risk scores and the hub genes with the immune microenvironment, clinical features, and antitumor drug susceptibility were investigated. The clinical glioma tissues were collected to verify the expression of hub genes via immunohistochemistry. Twenty genes were differentially expressed, Consensus cluster analysis identified two molecular clusters. Overall survival was significantly higher in cluster 2 than in cluster 1. Immunological analysis revealed statistically significant differences in 26 immune cells and 17 immune functions between the two clusters. Enrichment analysis detected multiple meaningful pathways. We constructed a prognostic model that consists of WTAP, TRMT6, DNMT1, and DNMT3B. The high-risk and low-risk groups affected the survival prognosis and immune infiltration, which were related to grade, gender, age, and survival status. The prognostic value of the model was validated using another independent cohort CGGA. Clinical correlation and immune analysis revealed that four hub genes were associated with tumor grade, immune cells, and antitumor drug sensitivity, and WTAP was significantly associated with microsatellite instability(MSI). Immunohistochemistry confirmed the high expression of WTAP, DNMT1, and DNMT3B in tumor tissue, but the low expression of TRMT6. This study established a strong prognostic marker based on m6A/m5C/m1A methylation regulators, which can accurately predict the prognosis of patients with gliomas. m6A/m5C/m1A modification mode plays an important role in the tumor microenvironment, can provide valuable information for anti-tumor immunotherapy, and have a profound impact on the clinical characteristics.

RESUMO

The role of miRNAs as crucial components in carcinogenesis has been well documented. However, whether and how miR-214 influences oral cancer cells' drug resistance remains to be elucidated, and its downstream targets are still under investigation. Hence, this research is aimed at determining miR-214 and ULK1 expression in oral cancer before and after chemotherapy and their correlations with cancer cell growth. Human oral normal epithelial cells and human tongue squamous cell carcinoma CAL-27 cells were cultured to detect miR-214 and ULK1 levels. It was found that before chemotherapy, miR-214 was higher, while ULK1 was underexpressed in CAL-27 cells, versus normal epithelial cells. After chemotherapy, miR-214 decreased obviously in CAL-27 cells, while ULK1 level increased significantly. In addition, autophagy-related genes (Beclin 1, mTOR, and P53) in CAL-27 cells were found to be significantly inhibited before chemotherapy and were obviously increased after chemotherapy. Moreover, to further determine the impacts of miR-214 and ULK1 on oral cancer cell growth after chemotherapy, the two were overexpressed or silenced in CAL-27 cells after transfection. We found that ULK1 could effectively decrease the activity and invasion of CAL-27 cells and increase their apoptosis level, while miR-214 could antagonize its antitumor effect. Therefore, miR-214 can be used as an early prognostic biomarker for oral cancer, and ULK1 is a new candidate therapeutic target.

RESUMO

We report experimental studies of the bending strain impact on the upconversion processes in Yb3+, Er3+, and Mn2+ co-doped BaTiO3 (BTO) thin films with mica as the flexible substrate. Bending strain induces strong enhancement and modulation of the upconversion emission in doped BTO thin films. Because the unshielded 3d5 configuration of Mn2+ is more susceptible to crystal field changes, the introduction of an Mn2+ ion further promotes the strain-induced modulation effect. The upconversion intensity is amplified by six times at bending strain ε = 1.83% in BTO:Yb3+/Er3+/Mn2+ thin films. These results demonstrate the opportunity of rendering an upconversion emission through integrating lanthanide-doped ferroelectric films with flexible mica, especially by incorporating an Mn2+ ion.

RESUMO

Numb regulates cell proliferation and differentiation through endocytosis and ubiquitination of signaling molecules. Besides, Numb controls the migration of epithelial cells by regulating intercellular junctions. Studies have shown that Numb promotes or inhibits tumor progression in different tumors. However, its role and mechanism in colorectal cancer remain unclear. We found that the expression level of Numb in colon tumor tissues has a great variety in different patients. Numb expression was negatively correlated with TNM stage and lymph node metastasis but positively correlated with tumor size. Elevated expression of Numb was associated with a good prognosis. Inhibiting Numb expression promoted the migration and invasion of colon cancer cells induced by TGF-ß, up-regulated the expression of EMT-related molecule Snail, and prevented the expression of E-cadherin. We also found that Numb promoted the proliferation and clones formation while inhibiting colon cancer cells' late apoptosis. In addition, Numb inhibited the RhoA activation and ROCK inhibitor Y-27632 or interfered with ROCK expression, partially inhibiting Numb-regulated cell proliferation and migration. In vivo tumorigenesis assay in nude mice also found that Numb promoted the proliferation of colon cancer cells, inhibited the expression of E-cadherin, and strengthened the expression of Snail. In conclusion, our study found that Numb plays multiple roles in the occurrence and progression of colon cancer by regulating the RhoA/ROCK signaling pathway, which provides a new theoretical molecular basis for the pathogenesis of colon cancer.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common degenerative disease in older adults and its treatment remains unsatisfactory. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and explore the therapeutic mechanisms of the combination of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and ozone (O3) for knee OA. METHODS: Thirty male rabbits were randomly divided into five groups (Control group, OA group, PRP group, O3 group, and PRP + O3 group). Rabbit model of OA were induced by improved Hulth surgery. Gross articular observation, histopathological examination and cartilage scoring system were used to assess the articular cartilage destruction. The bone morphogenetic protein-2 (BMP-2) mRNA expression in joint fluid was determined by quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). The expression of type II collagen, matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) of cartilage was detected via Immunohistochemistry. Pain behavior was observed by percent ipsilateral weight-bearing (PIW) asymmetry. RESULTS: The content of platelet in PRP was increased by 6.2-times that in whole blood. Among induced OA groups (the OA, PRP, O3 and PRP + O3 group), PRP + O3 significantly inhibited the surgically induced increase in gross articular alterations, histopathological damage of cartilage and Mankin score when compared to the OA, PRP and O3 groups (P<0.05). Observed pain behavior by weight-bearing asymmetry, in the PRP + O3 group was reversed at 3 and 6 weeks after the administration of PRP + O3 (PIW asymmetry: -10.66%±1.172%). In addition, surgery-induced BMP-2 mRNA expression was significantly downregulated after the treatment of PRP, O3 and PRP + O3 (P<0.01). PRP + O3 group significantly increased the expression of type II collagen but decreased MMP-1 of cartilage in comparison to OA, PRP and O3 groups (P<0.05) by immunohistochemical analysis. CONCLUSIONS: PRP combined with O3 may prevent cartilage destruction and improve weight-bearing asymmetry by restoring homeostasis between anabolism and catabolism of extracellular matrix in progressive OA. Furthermore, a combination of PRP and O3 might achieve even better results than the two agents alone.

RESUMO

Ischemic stroke accounts for 70-80% of all stroke cases. Immunity plays an important role in the pathophysiology of ischemic stroke. Microglia are the first line of defense in the central nervous system. Microglial functions are largely dependent on their pro-inflammatory (M1-like) or anti-inflammatory (M2-like) phenotype. Modulating neuroinflammation via targeting microglia polarization toward anti-inflammatory phenotype might be a novel treatment for ischemic stroke. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) and MSC-derived extracellular vesicles (MSC-EVs) have been demonstrated to modulate microglia activation and phenotype polarization. In this review, we summarize the physiological characteristics and functions of microglia in the healthy brain, the activation and polarization of microglia in stroke brain, the effects of MSC/MSC-EVs on the activation of MSC in vitro and in vivo, and possible underlying mechanisms, providing evidence for a possible novel therapeutics for the treatment of ischemic stroke.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Iatrogenic aortic dissection (IAD) is a rare but fatal complication of interventional treatment for the proximal supra-aortic large vessels. Several cases of IAD after endovascular treatment of subclavian artery have been reported. Nevertheless, the pathogenesis of IAD is still unclear. Here we report a patient with IAD following a balloon expandable stent implanted into the left subclavian artery (LSA). CASE SUMMARY: An 84-year-old man with a history of hypertension was admitted to the Neurology Department of our hospital complaining of dizziness and gait disturbance for more than 1 mo. Computed tomography angiography of the head and neck showed severe stenosis at the proximal LSA and the origin of the left vertebral artery. Magnetic resonance diffusion-weighted imaging of the brain revealed subacute infarctions in cerebellum, occipital lobe and medulla oblongata. He suffered a Stanford type B aortic dissection after the proximal LSA angioplasty with a balloon expandable stent. Thoracic endovascular aortic repair was performed immediately with the chimney technique and he was discharged 20 d later. After exploring the pathogenesis with multimodal imaging analysis, an easily neglected focal intramural hematoma (IMH) in the aorta near the junction of the LSA was found to be the main cause of the IAD. The risk of IAD should be sufficiently evaluated according to the characteristics of aortic arch lesions before the proximal LSA angioplasty. CONCLUSION: Focal aortic IMH is a potential risk factor for IAD during a seemingly simple stenting of the proximal LSA.

RESUMO

Solar blind ultraviolet (SBUV) self-powered photodetectors (PDs) have a great number of applications in civil and military exploration. Ga2O3 is a prospective candidate for SBUV detection owing to its reasonable bandgap corresponding to the SBUV waveband. Nevertheless, the previously reported Ga2O3 photovoltaic devices had low photoresponse performance and were still far from the demands of practical application. Herein, we propose an idea of using spiro-MeOTAD (spiro) as the SBUV transparent conductive layer to construct p-i-n PDs (p-spiro/Ga2O3/n-Si). With the aid of double built-in electric fields, the designed p-i-n PDs could operate without any external power source. Furtherly, the influence of spiro thickness on improving the photoelectric performance of devices is investigated in detail and the optimum device is achieved, translating to a peak responsivity of 192 mA/W upon a weak 254 nm light illumination of 2 µW/cm2 at zero bias. In addition, the I-t curve of our PD shows binary response characteristics and a four-stage current response behavior under a small forward bias, and also, its underlying working mechanism is analyzed. In sum, this newly developed device presents great potential for booming the high energy-efficient optoelectronic devices in the short run.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the correlation between intestinal flora and serum inflammatory factors IL-1, IL-2, IL-6 and hs-CRP in post-stroke depression (PSD) in ischemic stroke patients. STUDY DESIGN: Observational study. Study Place and Duration of Study: Jiulongpo District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chongqing City, China, from October 2018 to May 2020. METHODOLOGY: One hundred and sixty-three patients with ischemic stroke were divided into Group A (PSD) and Group B (no PSD), according to whether they had PSD. Intestinal flora indexes (Enterococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli and Bifidobacterium) and serum IL-1, IL-2, IL-6 and hs-CRP were detected. RESULTS: Among 163 patients with ischemic stroke, 67 (41.10%) had PSD (Group A) and 96 (58.90%) had no PSD (Group B). Contents of Enterococcus faecalis and Escherichia coli in Group A were higher than those in Group B (both p <0.001), and content of Bifidobacterium in Group A was lower than that in Group B (p <0.001). Serum IL-1, IL-2, IL-6 and hs-CRP levels in Group A were higher than those in Group B (all p <0.001). Pearson correlation test showed that contents of Enterococcus faecalis and Escherichia coli in Group A were positively correlated with IL-1, IL-2, IL-6 and hs-CRP, and content of Bifidobacterium was negatively correlated with IL-1, IL-2, IL-6 and hs-CRP. CONCLUSION: There are intestinal flora imbalance and Bifidobacterium undergrowth in patients with PSD, which can lead to overexpression of serum inflammatory factors. Both may be involved in occurrence and progress of PSD in patients with ischemic stroke. Key Words: Ischemic stroke, Post-stroke depression (PSD), Intestinal flora, Inflammatory factors.

RESUMO

Solar blind photodetectors with a cutoff wavelength within the 200-280 nm region is attracting much attention due to their potential civilian and military applications. The avalanche photodetectors (APDs) formed based on wide-bandgap semiconductor Ga2O3 are expected to meet emerging technological demands. These devices, however, suffer from limitations associated with the quality of as-grown Ga2O3 or the difficulty in alleviating the defects and dislocations. Herein, high-performance APDs incorporating amorphous Ga2O3 (a-Ga2O3)/ITO heterojunction as the central element have been reliably fabricated at room temperature. The a-Ga2O3-based APDs exhibits an ultrahigh responsivity of 5.9 × 104 A/W, specific detectivity of 1.8 × 1014 Jones, and an external quantum efficiency up to 2.9 × 107% under 254 nm light irradiation at 40 V reverse bias. Notably, the gain could reach 6.8 × 104, indicating the outstanding capability for ultraweak signals detection. The comprehensive superior capabilities of the a-Ga2O3-based APDs can be ascribed to the intrinsic carrier transport manners in a-Ga2O3 as well as the modified band alignment at the heterojunctions. The trade-off between low processing temperature and superior characteristics of a-Ga2O3 promises greater design freedom for realization of wide applications of emerging semiconductor Ga2O3 with even better performance since relieving the burden on the integration progress.

RESUMO

This study explored the correlation between mental toughness (MT) and physical activity (PA), and the moderation role between PA intention and subsequent behavior among college students and wage earners. Five hundred ninety-one college students (251 male, 340 female) aged from 19 to 24 and 285 (157 male, 127 female) wage earners aged from 27 to 58 recruited from seven colleges and five cities in China. A Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) questionnaire, MT Inventory, and the International PA Questionnaire was completed online. Results showed that attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control explained 46.5 and 38.3% variance in PA intention among college students and wage earners separately. Intention predicted PA behavior significantly among college students and wage earners. Structural equation modeling indicated that the TPB model and the moderation model have an adequate to good fit except the TPB model among wage earners. MT was positively correlated with PA among college students and wage earners and had a significant moderation role in intention-behavior gap among college students and partially affected the transfer of PA intention to behavior among college students. Individuals with high MT had high levels of PA regardless of intention, while PA of those with low MT was low and unstable. Future research should further explore the correlation between intention and PA and the moderation role of MT in different populations using a longitudinal study in order to better understand the correlation between intention and PA, and the transition from intention to PA and better guidance PA intervention to promote PA.

RESUMO

This study evaluates the effects of potassium sulfate (K2SO4) on the swelling, gelatinization, and pasting properties of indica rice starch (IRS), japonica rice starch (JRS), and waxy rice starch (WRS). As a result, the gelatinization temperatures (Tp), swelling capacities, and pasting viscosities of rice starches in water followed the order of WRS > JRS > IRS, showing positive correlations to amylopectin content and molecular weight. At K2SO4 concentration of 0.05-0.6 M, Tp increased by 10-13 ℃ due to a more compact structure of starch granules resulting from increased interactions of starch chains with K+. However, the swelling capacity decreased with increasing K2SO4 concentration and followed the order of WRS < JRS < IRS, which decreased sharply from 27.3 to 2.5 g/g for WRS. K2SO4 dramatically reduced the pasting viscosity of starch pastes due to the decreased swelling capacity. This study provides the scientific basis for rice starch processing with K2SO4.

RESUMO

Cervical artery dissection (CAD) is an important causal factor for stroke in young and middle-aged individuals and presents a great burden to the individual stroke victim. However, the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying CAD remain unknown. Here, an iTRAQ (isobaric tagging for relative and absolute quantitation)-based quantitative proteomic approach was performed, to identify differentially expressed proteins in serum samples obtained from spontaneous CAD and non-CAD ischemic stroke subjects. Differential protein expression was analyzed for Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway overrepresentation, and six differential proteins were selected for enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay validation. Through KEGG analysis, the significantly differentiated proteins were primarily involved in immunoregulation, blood coagulation, and lipid metabolism. For the first time, differential expressions of apolipoprotein B, apolipoprotein C-I, lipopolysaccharide-binding protein, vascular cell adhesion molecule 1, fibulin-1, and ficolin-2 were confirmed as being significantly upregulated in CAD as compared to non-CAD ischemic stroke subjects. In conclusion, proteomic analysis reveals that early perturbation of immunoregulation and lipid metabolism may be involved in the pathophysiology of CAD. Specifically, the panel of six proteins identified is promising as serum-based biomarkers for the detection of increased CAD risk in stroke subjects.
