Determination of genotoxic impurities of alkyl methanesulfonates in methanesulfonic acid by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry / 中国药科大学学报

@#An analytical liquid-liquid extraction-gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (LLE-GC-MS) method was established for the determination of genotoxic impurities including methyl methanesulfonate (MMS), ethyl methanesulfonate (EMS) and isopropyl methanesulfonate (IMS) in methanesulfonic acid. An Agilent HP-1MS capillary column (30 m × 0.32 m, 1 μm) was used for separating the analytes by programmed heating with the inlet temperature of 220 °C. Mass spectrometry was operated in positive ion mode, and selective ion monitors were set at m/z 80 for MMS, m/z 79 for EMS, m/z 123 for IMS and m/z 56 for internal standard butyl methanesulfonate (BMS). Results showed that the baseline separation of MMS, EMS and IMS was achieved, and the blank extraction solution had no interference; good linearity was achieved in the range of 37-1 480 ng/mL for three alkyl methanesulfonates; The mean recoveries of MMS, EMS, IMS were 104.99%, 107.26%,108.85%, respectively, with RSD ≤ 4.54%. The established method has the characteristics of specific, sensitive, accurate, stable and good versatility, and has been used for the detection and control of alkyl methanesulfonate impurities in methanesulfonic acid from a variety of manufacturers.

The impact of anxiety and depression on quality of life in patients with uveitis / 中国实用护理杂志

Objective To describe the status of anxiety and depression in patients with uveitis, and to explore the related factors of quality of life. Methods A total of 126 uveitis patients from September 2015 to March 2016 were investigated with the General Social Population Questionnaire, Life Quality for Diseases with Visual Impairment Scale, Self-rating Anxiety Scale and Beck Depression Inventory. Results There were 126 valid questionnaires, and the effective recovery rate was 96.9％(126/130). The score of Self-rating Anxiety Scale in uveitis patients was (43.49±7.20) points which lower than the standard mark standardized score, and 14.3％ (18/126)of patients were diagnosed with anxiety. The score of Beck Depression Inventory in uveitis patients was (7.50 ± 6.60) points which lower than the standard mark standardized score, 28.6％ (36/126)of patients were diagnosed with depression. The Self-rating Anxiety Scale scores and psychological dimensions of quality of life was negatively correlated (r=-0.310, P<0.01), and the Beck Depression Inventory scores and the average score of the quality of life, the 4 dimensions and total score of quality of life was negatively correlated(r=-0.534--0.240, all P<0.01). The multiple linear regression analysis showed that the related factors of quality of life were score of depression, vision loss, education and gender(P<0.05). Conclusions The incidence of depression and anxiety are both lower in patients with uveitis than general population. The status of quality of life is related to the score of depression, vision loss, education and gender.

Profesor LI Rongzhen's Academic Idea and Experience about Treating the Diseases of the Ocular Fundus / 浙江中医药大学学报

[Objective] To sum up the clinical experience of famous veteran doctor LI Rongzhen in treating the fundus oculi disease. [Methods] By learning from Professor LI Rongzhen, recording the relevant cases and analyzing the typical cases, to summarize the academic idea and the clinical experience according to the viscera syndrome differentiation and treatment characteristics, as well as list two proved cases. [Results] Professor LI Rongzhen holds that this disease is closely related with the viscera, origins from heart, involving liver, lung and kidney. In the clinical treatment, Professor LI is good at using the classical prescriptions and the therapy with syndrome differentiation with the permit addition and subtraction, according to the pattern of the fundus oculi disease, which has received the remarkable effect: patients with the deficiency of both heart and spleen of sudden blind, using the principle of nourishing qi to stop bleeding with Guipi Decoction, patients with hyper-action of liver yang, using Zhengan Xifeng Decoction to nourish yin for suppressing hyperactive yang, patients with qi stagnation and blood stasis are treated by Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction to remove stasis and stopp blood;patients with deficiency of kidney-yin of vitreous opacity, using the treatment of tonifying kidney for improving eyesight, with Six Ingredient Rehmannia Pill to nourish the liver and kidney, syndrome with the disharmony of liver and spleen, using Xiaoyao Powder to replenish vital energy ,deficiency of qi and blood, applying Bazhen Decoction to invigorate qi and blood. All of the cases verify her clinical experience. [Conclusion] While treating the fundus oculi disease, Professor LI pays attention to the relation between the eyes and the viscera, using the therapy with syndrome differentiation, with the flexible application of the ancient prescriptions and the traditional Chinese medicine, her experience in treating the fundus oculi disease is well worth learning and using.

miR-491-5p functions as a tumor suppressor by targeting JMJD2B in ERα-positive breast cancer.

The involvement of miR-491-5p in breast cancer development is unclear. This study showed that miR-491-5p is significantly downregulated in ERα-positive breast cancer tissues and cell lines and is generally hypermethylated in ERα-positive breast cancer. MiR-491-5p overexpression significantly suppressed estrogen signaling and estrogen-stimulated proliferation of breast cancer cells. Furthermore, the histone demethylase JMJD2B was identified as a direct target of miR-491-5p. The ectopic expression of JMJD2B abrogated the phenotypic changes induced by miR-491-5p in breast cancer cells. Collectively, our data indicate that miR-491-5p plays a tumor suppressor role in the development and progression of breast caner and may be a novel therapeutic target against ERα-positive breast cancer.

Changes of angiogenic factors in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus / 中华内分泌代谢杂志

Serum levels of human CXC-chemokine ligand 16,basic fibroblast growth factor,plateletderived endothelial cell growth factor,and number of endothelial progenitor cells were determined in 80 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and 40 normal control subjects.It was found that there were some disturbances of angiogenesis in diabetic patients.These abnormalities were more pronounced in these patients with old age,hyperglycemia,raised HbA1c,and presence of vascular diseases.
