RESUMO

This research explores the potential of multimodal fusion for the differential diagnosis of early-stage lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) (tumor sizes < 2 cm). It combines liquid biopsy biomarkers, specifically extracellular vesicle long RNA (evlRNA) and the computed tomography (CT) attributes. The fusion model achieves an impressive area under receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) of 91.9% for the four-classification of adenocarcinoma, along with a benign-malignant AUC of 94.8% (sensitivity: 89.1%, specificity: 94.3%). These outcomes outperform the diagnostic capabilities of the single-modal models and human experts. A comprehensive SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) is provided to offer deep insights into model predictions. Our findings reveal the complementary interplay between evlRNA and image-based characteristics, underscoring the significance of integrating diverse modalities in diagnosing early-stage LUAD.

High temperatures accelerate the accumulation of storage material in seeds, often leading to defects in grain filling. However, the mechanisms regulating grain filling at high temperatures remain unknown. Here, we want to explore the quality factors influenced by the environment and have identified a LATE EMBROYGENESIS ABUNDANT gene, OsLEA1b, a heat-stress-responsive gene in rice grain filling. OsLEA1b is highly expressed in the endosperm, and its coding protein localizes to the nucleus and cytoplasm. Knock-out mutants of OsLEA1b had abnormal compound starch granules in endosperm cells and chalky endosperm with significantly decreased grain weight and grain number per panicle. The oslea1b mutants exhibited a lower proportion of short starch chains with degrees of polymerization values from 6 to 13 and a higher proportion of chains with degrees from 14 to 48, as well as significantly lower contents of starch, protein, and lipid compared to the wild type. The difference was exacerbated under high temperature conditions. Moreover, OsLEA1b was induced by drought stress. The survival rate of oslea1b mutants decreased significantly under drought stress treatment, with significant increase in ROS levels. These results indicate that OsLEA1b regulates starch biosynthesis and influences rice grain quality, especially under high temperatures. This provides a valuable resource for genetic improvement in rice grain quality.

Introduction The disease arteriosclerosis obliterans (ASO) affects the lower extremities. ASO's mechanism involves the proliferation and migration of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs). The miR-4284 is involved in several biological processes of the cardiovascular system, including VSMC proliferation, migration, and death. However, it is unknown if the miR-4284 gene is involved in the control of ASO. Furthermore, the molecular processes behind the contribution of human arterial smooth muscle cells (HASMCs), one of the most significant components of the arterial wall, to arteriosclerosis obliterans (ASO) pathogenesis remain unknown. Previously, we explored the alterations of miRNAs in the blood of ASO patients, and now we wanted to test further whether these changes also take place in the HASMCs that are responsible for the pathogenesis of ASO. Methods The expression levels of miR-29a in arterial walls were analyzed via a real-time polymerase chain reaction. An ASO cell model was established to investigate the expression of miR-4284 on HASMCs. The Transwell system and CCK-8 detection were used to assess the migration and proliferation of HASMCs. The proportion of apoptotic cells as well as the concentrations of apoptotic signal protein production were assessed using flow cytometry. A Western blot technique was used to identify B cell lymphoma-2 (Bcl2), Bcl2-associated X protein (BAX), as well as X-linked inhibitors of apoptosis protein (XIAP). Results The results showed that PCR confirmed that the qualified production or expression of miR-4284 was significantly reduced in HASMCs after they were cultured without FBS and in an atmosphere of 1% O2 + 5% CO2 + 94% N2 and that glucose had no effect on its expression. MiR-4284 has no effect on migration and proliferation, but downregulation of miR-4284 can decrease the apoptotic rate of HASMCs, as revealed by flow cytometry. Furthermore, western blot experiments showed that the expression of BAX was low, while the expression of the other two proteins, viz., Bcl2 and XIAP, was over-expressed. Conclusion We found that miR-4284 downregulation enhanced Bcl2, as well as XIAP, and decreased Bax. This shows that downregulated miR-4284 regulates apoptosis-related protein expression in HASMCs. The mechanism is not clear, and we need further study to confirm it.

OBJECTIVE: The present study, CLUS version 2.0, was conducted to evaluate the performance of new techniques in improving the implementation of lung cancer screening and to validate the efficacy of LDCT in reducing lung cancer-specific mortality in a high-risk Chinese population. METHODS: From July 2018 to February 2019, high-risk participants from six screening centers in Shanghai were enrolled in our study. Artificial intelligence, circulating molecular biomarkers and autofluorescencebronchoscopy were applied during screening. RESULTS: A total of 5087 eligible high-risk participants were enrolled in the study; 4490 individuals were invited, and 4395 participants (97.9%) finally underwent LDCT detection. Positive screening results were observed in 857 (19.5%) participants. Solid nodules represented 53.6% of all positive results, while multiple nodules were the most common location type (26.8%). Up to December 2020, 77 participants received lung resection or biopsy, including 70 lung cancers, 2 mediastinal tumors, 1 tracheobronchial tumor, 1 malignant pleural mesothelioma and 3 benign nodules. Lung cancer patients accounted for 1.6% of all the screened participants, and 91.4% were in the early stage (stage 0-1). CONCLUSIONS: LDCT screening can detect a high proportion of early-stage lung cancer patients in a Chinese high-risk population. The utilization of new techniques would be conducive to improving the implementation of LDCT screening.

BACKGROUND: Intrinsic atrioventricular (AV) conduction is used to optimize AV intervals with cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) in most device algorithms. Atrial pacing and heart rate affect conduction times, but little is known regarding differeces among chronotropic incompetent(CI) and competent(CC) patients to guide programming. METHODS: RAVE was a multicenter prospective trial of CRT patients. Heart rate was increased with incremental atrial pacing and with submaximal exercise. According to the maximal heart rate achieved during exercise, patients were classified as either CI or CC. For CI patients, an additional symptom-limited exercise with rate-adaptive pacing activated was performed. Intracardiac intervals were measured from the implantable lead electrograms in multiple postures. RESULTS: There were 12 subjects with CI and 24 with CC. With atrial pacing, AV interval immediately increased and gradually increased with incremental atrial pacing in all patients. However, the changes in the atrial to right ventricular (ARV) and atrial to left ventricular (ALV) intervals with increasing atrial pacing rates were about threefold greater in CI patients compared to CC patients (24.3 ± 28.9 vs. 7.2 ± 5.5 ms/10 bpm for ARV and 22.7 ± 25.6 vs. 7.1 ± 5.7 ms/10 bpm for ALV in the standing position, p < 0.05). In CI pacing with rate-adaptive pacing during exercise, AV interval changes with paced heart rate were variable. CONCLUSIONS: The AV response to overdrive atrial pacing at rest may provide a simple means of identifying chronotropic competence in CRT patients. For patients with CI, who often require rate-adaptive atrial pacing, rate-adaptive AV algorithms should be adjusted individually.

PURPOSE: To investigate the performance of an artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm for assessing the malignancy and invasiveness of pulmonary nodules in a multicenter cohort. METHODS: A previously developed deep learning system based on a 3D convolutional neural network was used to predict tumor malignancy and invasiveness. Dataset of pulmonary nodules no more than 3 cm was integrated with CT images and pathologic information. Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis was used to evaluate the performance of the system. RESULTS: A total of 466 resected pulmonary nodules were included in this study. The areas under the curves (AUCs) of the deep learning system in the prediction of malignancy as compared with pathological reports were 0.80, 0.80, and 0.75 for all, subcentimeter, and solid nodules, respectively. Additionally, the AUC in the AI-assisted prediction of invasive adenocarcinoma (IA) among subsolid lesions (n = 184) was 0.88. Most malignancies that were misdiagnosed by the AI system as benign diseases with a diameter measuring greater than 1 cm (26/250, 10.4%) presented as solid nodules (19/26, 73.1%) on CT. In an exploratory analysis involving nodules underwent intraoperative pathologic examination, the concordance rate in identifying IA between the AI model and frozen section examination was 0.69, with a sensitivity of 0.50 and specificity of 0.97. CONCLUSION: The deep learning system can discriminate malignant diseases for pulmonary nodules measuring no more than 3 cm. The AI model has a high positive predictive value for invasive adenocarcinoma with respect to intraoperative frozen section examination, which might help determine the individualized surgical strategy.

Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is one of the most important species for food production worldwide. Low temperature is a major abiotic factor that affects rice germination and reproduction. Here, the underlying regulatory mechanism in seedlings of a TGMS variety (33S) and a cold-sensitive variety (Nipponbare) was investigated by comparative transcriptome. There were 795 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) identified only in cold-treated 33S, suggesting that 33S had a unique cold-resistance system. Functional and enrichment analysis of these DEGs revealed that, in 33S, several metabolic pathways, such as photosynthesis, amino acid metabolism, secondary metabolite biosynthesis, were significantly repressed. Moreover, pathways related to growth and development, including starch and sucrose metabolism, and DNA biosynthesis and damage response/repair, were significantly enhanced. The expression of genes related to nutrient reserve activity were significantly up-regulated in 33S. Finally, three NAC and several ERF transcription factors were predicted to be important in this transcriptional reprogramming. This present work provides valuable information for future investigations of low-temperature response mechanisms and genetic improvement of cold-tolerant rice seedlings.

Two type II-C Cas9 orthologs (Nm1Cas9 and Nm2Cas9) were recently identified from Neisseria meningitidis and have been extensively used in mammalian cells, but whether these NmCas9 orthologs or other type II-C Cas9 proteins can mediate genome editing in plants remains unclear. In this study, we developed and optimized targeted mutagenesis systems from NmCas9s for plants. Efficient genome editing at the target with N4 GATT and N4 CC protospacer adjacent motifs (PAMs) was achieved with Nm1Cas9 and Nm2Cas9 respectively. These results indicated that a highly active editing system could be developed from type II-C Cas9s with distinct PAM preferences, thus providing a reliable strategy to extend the scope of genome editing in plants. Base editors (BEs) were further developed from the NmCas9s. The editing efficiency of adenine BEs (ABEs) of TadA*-7.10 and cytosine BEs (CBEs) of rat APOBEC1 (rAPO1) or human APOBEC3a (hA3A) were extremely limited, whereas ABEs of TadA-8e and CBEs of Petromyzon marinus cytidine deaminase 1 (PmCDA1) exhibited markedly improved performance on the same targets. In addition, we found that fusion of a single-stranded DNA-binding domain from the human Rad51 protein enhanced the base editing capability of rAPO1-CBEs of NmCas9s. Together, our results suggest that the engineering of NmCas9s or other type II-C Cas9s can provide useful alternatives for crop genome editing.

In this paper, an in situ piezoelectric-fiber hybrid sensor network was developed to monitor the life-cycle of carbon fiber-reinforced plastics (CFRPs), from the manufacturing phase to the life in service. The piezoelectric lead-zirconate titanate (PZT) sensors were inserted inside the composite structures during the manufacturing process to monitor important curing parameters, including the storage modulus of resin and the progress of the reaction (POR). The strain that is related to the storage modulus and the state of resin was measured by embedded fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors, and the gelation moment identified by the FBG sensors was very close to those determined by dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) and POR. After curing, experiments were conducted on the fabricated CFRP specimen to investigate the damage identification capability of the embedded piezoelectric sensor network. Furthermore, a modified probability diagnostic imaging (PDI) algorithm with a dynamically adaptive shape factor and fusion frequency was proposed to indicate the damage location in the tested sample and to greatly improve the position precision. The experimental results demonstrated that the average relative distance error (RDE) of the modified PDI method was 68.48% and 46.97% lower than those of the conventional PDI method and the PDI method, respectively, with an averaged shape factor and fusion frequency, indicating the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed damage imaging method. It is obvious that the whole life-cycle of CFRPs can be effectively monitored by the piezoelectric-fiber hybrid sensor network.

BACKGROUND: A domestic Sabin strain-based inactivated poliovirus vaccine (Sabin IPV) was approved by China Food and Drug Administration in 2017 as a replacement for the Salk strain-based inactivated poliovirus vaccine (Salk IPV) that has been in use in China for over 10 years. The present post-marketing trial was implemented in China to assess the immunogenicity and safety of replacing the Salk IPV with the Sabin IPV in the last two immunizations of the standard three-dose schedule. METHODS: We conducted a randomized, controlled clinical trial with two groups that received three doses of IPVs at the age of 2, 3, and 4 months: the Salk-Sabin-Sabin group and the Salk-Salk-Salk group. Blood samples were collected before vaccination and 30-40 days after the third dose of vaccination. The seroconversion rates and antibody geometric mean titers (GMTs) were calculated and analyzed to evaluate immunogenicity. The safety of both immunization schedules was also monitored and analyzed. RESULTS: Of 360 recruited healthy infants, all three IPV doses were administered and blood collection was completed in 330 infants. All participants (100%) in both groups were seropositive for all three poliovirus types after the last vaccination. There were significant differences between the two groups (P < 0.001) in the GMTs for antibodies against poliovirus types 1 and 2, but no significant difference was observed for antibodies against type 3 (P = 0.009). A non-inferiority t-test showed that the post-immunization GMTs for all three types in the Salk-Sabin-Sabin group were not inferior to those in the Salk-Salk-Salk group (P < 0.001). Safety assessment indicated that there was no significant difference in the incidence of all adverse events between the two groups (P = 0.806). CONCLUSIONS: The Salk-Sabin-Sabin IPV immunization schedule is not inferior to the Salk-Salk-Salk IPV schedule in terms of both immunogenicity and safety. Clinical trial number: NCT04051736.

Impact brings great threat to the composite structures that are extensively used in an aircraft. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an accurate and reliable impact monitoring method. In this paper, fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors are embedded in unidirectional carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRPs) during the manufacturing process to monitor the strain that is related to the elastic modulus and the state of resin. After that, an advanced impact identification model is proposed. Support vector regression (SVR) and a back propagation (BP) neural network are combined appropriately in this stacking-based ensemble learning model. Then, the model is trained and tested through hundreds of impacts, and the corresponding strain responses are recorded by the embedded FBG sensors. Finally, the performances of different models are compared, and the influence of the time of arrival (ToA) on the neural network is also explored. The results show that compared with a single neural network, ensemble learning has a better capability in impact identification.

BACKGROUND: Optimization of atrioventricular (AV) intervals for cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) programming is typically performed in supine patients at rest, which may not reflect AV timing in other conditions. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effects of posture, exercise, and atrial pacing on intrinsic AV intervals in patients with CRT devices. METHODS: Rate-dependent A-V delay by exercise was a multicenter, prospective trial of patients in sinus rhythm following CRT implantation. Intracardiac electrograms were recorded to analyze atrial to right ventricular (ARV), atrial to left ventricular (ALV), and RV to LV (VV) time intervals. Heart rate was increased with incremental atrial pacing in different postures, followed by an exercise treadmill test. RESULTS: This study included 36 patients. At rest, AV intervals changed minimally with posture. With atrial pacing, AV interval immediately increased compared with sinus rhythm, with ARV slopes being 8.1 ± 7.7, 8.8 ± 13.4, and 6.8 ± 6.5 milliseconds per beat per minute (ms/bpm) and ALV slopes being 8.2 ± 7.7, 9.1 ± 12.8, and 7.0 ± 6.5 ms/bpm for supine, standing and sitting positions, respectively. As the paced heart rate increased, ARV and ALV intervals increased more gradually with similar trends. Interventricular conduction times changed less than 0.2 ms/bpm with atrial pacing. During exercise, the direction of change of intrinsic ARV intervals, as heart rate increased, was variable between patients with relatively small overall group changes (0.1 ± 1.4 and 0.2 ± 1.2 ms/bpm for ARV and ALV, respectively). CONCLUSION: Posture and exercise have a smaller effect on AV timing compared with atrial pacing. However, individualized optimization and dynamic rate related changes may be needed to maintain optimal fusion with left ventricular (LV) stimulation.

Rice, being a major staple food crop and sensitive to salinity conditions, bears heavy yield losses due to saline soil. Although some salt responsive genes have been identified in rice, their applications in developing salt tolerant cultivars have resulted in limited achievements. Herein, we used bioinformatic approaches to perform a meta-analysis of three transcriptome datasets from salinity and control conditions in order to reveal novel genes and the molecular pathways underlying rice response to salt. From a total of 28,432 expressed genes, we identify 457 core differentially expressed genes (DEGs) constitutively responding to salt, regardless of the stress duration, genotype, or the tissue. Gene co-expression analysis divided the core DEGs into three different modules, each of them contributing to salt response in a unique metabolic pathway. Gene ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analyses highlighted key biological processes and metabolic pathways involved in the salt response. We identified important novel hub genes encoding proteins of different families including CAM, DUF630/632, DUF581, CHL27, PP2-13, LEA4-5, and transcription factors, which could be functionally characterized using reverse genetic experiments. This novel repertoire of candidate genes related to salt response in rice will be useful for engineering salt tolerant varieties.

BACKGROUND: Routine atrioventricular optimization (AVO) has not been shown to improve outcomes with cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT). However, more recently subgroup analyses of multicenter CRT trials have identified electrocardiographic or lead positions associated with benefit from AVO. Therefore, the purpose of this analysis was to evaluate whether interventricular electrical delay modifies the impact of AVO on reverse remodeling with CRT. METHODS: This substudy of the SMART-AV trial (SMARTDELAY Determined AV Optimization) included 275 subjects who were randomized to either an electrogram-based AVO (SmartDelay) or nominal atrioventricular delay (120 ms). Interventricular delay was defined as the time between the peaks of the right ventricular (RV) and left ventricular (LV) electrograms (RV-LV duration). CRT response was defined prospectively as a >15% reduction in LV end-systolic volume from implant to 6 months. RESULTS: The cohort was 68% men, with a mean age of 65±11 years and LV ejection fraction of 28±8%. Longer RV-LV durations were significantly associated with CRT response ( P<0.01) for the entire cohort. Moreover, the benefit of AVO increased as RV-LV duration prolonged. At the longest quartile, there was a 4.26× greater odds of a remodeling response compared with nominal atrioventricular delays ( P=0.010). CONCLUSIONS: Baseline interventricular delay predicted CRT response. At long RV-LV durations, AVO can increase the likelihood of reverse remodeling with CRT. AVO and LV lead location optimized to maximize interventricular delay may work synergistically to increase CRT response. CLINICAL TRIAL REGISTRATION: URL: https://www.clinicaltrials.gov . BACKGROUND: Controversy remains regarding the use of cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) in patients with heart failure with right bundle branch block (RBBB) and reduced left ventricular (LV) ejection fraction. Moreover, little is known about acute hemodynamic changes with CRT in this subgroup as compared with patients with left bundle branch block (LBBB). OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the acute biventricular hemodynamic response of CRT and other pacing configurations, including the effects of atrioventricular (AV) delay and atrial pacing, to understand the effects of CRT in RBBB. METHODS: Forty patients (9 with RBBB and 31 with LBBB) undergoing CRT implantation underwent temporary pacing with varying configurations and AV delay. The acute hemodynamic response was assessed via invasive measurements of dP/dtmax (maximal rate of change in pressure) in the left ventricle (LV) as well as the right ventricle (RV) in patients with RBBB. RESULTS: Patients with LBBB had a greater LV dP/dtmax response to CRT than did patients with RBBB. In patients with RBBB, single- or dual-site RV pacing configurations resulted in greater increases in RV dP/dtmax than did biventricular pacing. Optimal AV delays that maximized RV dP/dtmax were shorter than optimal AV delays for LV dP/dtmax. Furthermore, AV delays chosen to maximize improvement in RV dP/dtmax frequently resulted in negative effects on LV dP/dtmax. CONCLUSION: These findings demonstrate a complex relationship between pacing configuration, AV delay, and hemodynamic responses. The biventricular hemodynamic response in patients with heart failure with RBBB might be improved by optimizing pacing modalities and AV delays. This may be particularly important in patients with diseases in whom RV failure predominates, such as patients with pulmonary hypertension and LV assist device.

In this paper, two main performance indices of the optical self-interference cancellation (OSIC) system are theoretically analyzed: cancellation bandwidth and depth. Delay deviation is investigated to be the determining factor of cancellation bandwidth, based on which the bandwidth advantage of the OSIC system over electrical schemes is also proven theoretically. Cancellation depth in the narrowband is mostly influenced by attenuation and delay-adjusting deviation, while in the broadband case, the performance is mostly limited by frequency-dependent amplitude and phase mismatch. The cancellation performance analysis is suitable for most linear modulation-demodulation OSIC systems, including the directly modulated laser (DML)-based OSIC system verified experimentally in this paper. The cancellation model is well demonstrated by the agreement between experimental cancellation results and predicted performance. For over-the-air demonstration with the employment of antennas, broadband cancellation within 450 MHz bandwidth of 22 dB and 25 dB is achieved at 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz, respectively. In addition, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing signals are employed to show in-band full-duplex transmission with good performance by the DML-based OSIC system, with successful suppression of self-interference and recovery of the signal of interest.

BACKGROUND: Pacing at sites with late electrical activation or greater interventricular delay is associated with improvement in measures of cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) response, primarily reverse remodeling. However, little is known about whether such lead positions improve heart failure (HF) clinical outcomes. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to assess the association between interventricular electrical delay and HF clinical outcomes. METHODS: The Pacing Evaluation-Atrial SUpport Study was a multicenter randomized trial of patients undergoing CRT-defibrillator implantation. Interventricular delay was measured as the unpaced right ventricle-left ventricle (RV-LV) interval in sinus rhythm. The HF clinical composite score was the primary end point. In addition, the time to first HF hospitalization or death was measured and events were adjudicated by a blinded core laboratory. The cohort was divided at the median RV-LV interval into short (<67 ms) and long (≥67 ms) subgroups. In addition, receiver operating characteristic curves were constructed to identify the optimal cutoff of the RV-LV interval and spline analysis was performed to assess RV-LV interval as a continuous variable. RESULTS: A total of 1342 patients were included in this study. The clinical composite score at 1 year differed between groups, with more patients improving and fewer patients worsening in the long RV-LV group (P = .014). The time to first HF hospitalization or mortality also differed with a lower risk of an event in the long RV-LV group (hazard ratio 0.62; P = .002). Multivariate analysis showed that RV-LV time (hazard ratio 0.71; P = .038) and sex were independent predictors of this outcome. CONCLUSION: Baseline interventricular delay is a strong independent predictor of clinical response to CRT.

BACKGROUND: Mitral regurgitation (MR) is associated with worse survival in those undergoing cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT). Left ventricular (LV) lead position in CRT may ameliorate mechanisms of MR. We examine the association between a longer LV electric delay (QLV) at the LV stimulation site and MR reduction after CRT. METHODS AND RESULTS: QLV was assessed retrospectively in 426 patients enrolled in the SMART-AV study (SmartDelay Determined AV Optimization: A Comparison to Other AV Delay Methods Used in CRT). QLV was defined as the time from QRS onset to the first large peak of the LV electrogram. Linear regression and logistic regression were used to assess the association between baseline QLV and MR reduction at 6 months (absolute change in vena contracta width and odds of ≥1 grade reduction in MR). At baseline, there was no difference in MR grade, LV dyssynchrony, or LV volumes in those with QLV above versus below the median (95 ms). After multivariable adjustment, increasing QLV was an independent predictor of MR reduction at 6 months as reflected by an increased odds of MR response (odds ratio: 1.13 [1.03-1.25]/10 ms increase QLV; P=0.02) and a decrease in vena contracta width (P<0.001). At 3 months, longer QLV (≥median) was associated with significant decrease in LV end-systolic volume (ΔLV end-systolic volume -28.2±38.9 versus -4.9±33.8 mL, P<0.001). Adjustment for 3-month ΔLV end-systolic volume attenuated the association between QLV and 6-month MR reduction. CONCLUSIONS: In patients undergoing CRT, longer QLV was an independent predictor of MR reduction at 6 months and associated with interval 3-month LV reverse remodeling. These findings provide a mechanistic basis for using an electric-targeting LV lead strategy at the time of CRT implant.

In this paper, we experimentally demonstrate and study a wideband in-band full-duplex (IBFD) wireless communication system based on optical self-interference cancellation (SIC). The optical SIC performances based on antennas for broadband IBFD are firstly evaluated within high frequency bands (> 10GHz). In this system, two electro-absorption-modulated lasers (EMLs) and a balanced photo-detector (BPD) are employed to remove the wideband self-interference within received wireless signal. By theoretical derivation and experimental verification, the impact factors of SIC are analyzed, especially for non-flatness wireless channel case. Experimental results show more than 30-dB cancellation depth in 100-MHz bandwidth with employment of horn antennas. Besides, IBFD transmission performance based on OFDM signals for different bandwidth with 11.15-GHz center frequency is also demonstrated, and ~52.2- dB•Hz2/3 spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) is obtained.
