RESUMO

Objective The functional relation between the correction angle and orthopedic force of scoliosis can be derived based on the force principle of scoliosis correction. The position and size of the orthopedic force with the best effect of spinal correction can be calculated to provide a theoretical calculation method for the application of orthopedic forces on scoliosis. Methods The coordinates of the scoliosis central axis were collected based on the computed tomography (CT) data of scoliosis. The spline curve of scoliosis was fitted using the MATLAB software. The scoliosis constitutive polynomial was obtained, and then, the scoliosis Cobb angle was calculated by programming. Based on the clinical medicine and experimental data of spinal biomechanics, a curved beam model was used for the correction calculation and analysis of scoliosis. Results The function relation between the orthopedic force and angle at any positions was derived at different orthopedic forces. The comprehensive elastic modulus of the spine was 0.29 MPa, as calculated by the function relation. Conclusions The calculation and analysis provided a reliable theoretical basis for the relationship between the loading position, size, and restoration angle of the orthopedic forces during scoliosis correction. For patients with different types of scoliosis, the function relation between the orthopedic angle and orthopedic force could be optimized to obtain the optimal orthopedic force and loading position.

RESUMO

Telmisartan is expected to ameliorate not only hypertension, but also metabolic syndrome as a metabosartan. We examined the effects of telmisartan on metabolic syndrome-related molecules such as insulin receptor (IR), peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPAR-γ), and angiotensin 2 type 1 receptor (AT1R) in stroke-resistant spontaneously hypertensive rat (SHR-SR) after transient middle cerebral artery occlusion (tMCAO), by administering telmisartan at either 0 (vehicle), .3 mg/kg/day (low dose), or 3 mg/kg/day (high dose), postoperatively, from 3 months of age and performed immunohistologic analysis at 6, 12, and 18 months of age. Compared with the vehicle group, the 2 telmisartan groups dose dependently decreased the number of IR- and AT1R-positive neurons in the cerebral cortex in the ipsilateral cerebral cortex from 6 to 18 months after tMCAO. On the other hand, the number of PPAR-γ-positive neurons increased in a dose-dependent manner in the 2 telmisartan groups from 6 to 18 months. The present study suggests that telmisartan dose-dependently ameliorated metabolic syndrome-related changes in the poststroke brain of SHR-SR with a direct protective effect (low dose) and an additive benefit, an antihypertensive effect at a high dose, for long-term protection after tMCAO.

RESUMO

To detect the expression of p16 protein and Ki-67 antigen in gastric mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma(MALTL)and normal gastric mucosa and to investigate the clinical significance of their expression in the occurrence and development of gastric MALTL.Methods 47 samples of gastric MALTL diagnosed pathologically in the department of pathology of the PLA General Hospital from March 1993 to June 2005 were collected.By using immunohistochemial methods, the expression of p16 protein and Ki-67 antigen was detected in 20 samples of normal gastric tissue and the 47 samples of gastric MALTL.Results The positive rate of p16 protein Was 21.3%(10/47)and 90.0% in gastric MALTL and normal gastric tissue respectively. The positive rate of p16 protein in gastric MALTL was lower than that in normal gastric tissue(P<0.05).The expression of p16 was related to the degree of lymph node metastasis. The positive rate of Ki-67 labelling index(LI)in gnstric MALTL was hiigher than that in normal gastric tissue.A negative correlation was found between the expression of p16 protein and Ki-67 LI(P<0.05). Conclusions Detection p16 and Ki-67 may help to predict the possibility of lymph node metastasis and prognosis in gastric MALTL.

RESUMO

Review of papers about acupuncture treatment on anxiety disorders since 1996 showed that many papers were mainly concerned with the treatment of anxiety disorders and obsession with electroacupuncture therapy. Baihui, Yintang, Shenmen, Dazhui, Taiyang, etc, were the most commonly involved acupoints. This paper argues that more emphasis should be transferred from "heart" to "brain", and correspondingly, should be put on acupoints at the head, the DU meridian and acupoints nearby in terms of the position of treatment, on scalp acupuncture and acupoint injection in terms of the methods of treatment, on the combination of diagnosis by western medicine and syndrome differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine in terms of treating strategy. As to the research method, evidence-based medicine, and multicenter, large sample randomized controlled trial study on anxiety disorders should be made.
