RESUMO

The article is devoted to the analysis of features of natural history of hepatitis C in Donetsk region, with the purpose to determine the number of patients in need of treatment in the first place, forecast on their cure, determination of the number of patients needing the retreatment. Namely, it is showed the age distribution of acute viral hepatitis B and C among the patients of Donetsk region, the percentage of patients with different severity of fibrosis inthe population of patients with chronic hepatitis C in Donetsk region. The stage of liver fibrosis and the degree of disease activity were compared. Furthermore, it is showed the distribution of genotypes of hepatitis C virus in a population of patients of Donetsk region.

RESUMO

Th present study was designed to examine 409 practically healthy men at the age of 50 to 79 years differing in terms of daily locomotor activities. They were divided into 4 groups each comprising subjects whose age differed within 10 years. Group 1 included former high-class athletes continuing physical exercises. Group 2 consisted of former high-class athletes practicing sedentary lifestyle. Group 3 contained subjects regularly doing health-improving physical exercises and group 4 those who had never been engaged in sports activities. The main parameters measured in all the subjects included the heart rate, arterial pressure, stroke volume, pulse pressure, minute blood volume, cardiac index, total peripheral vascular resistance, and mean dynamic arterial pressure. It was shown that both the routine regime of motor activity and its history in the preceding period have significant influence on hemodynamic characteristics in late ontogenesis. The high level of routine motor activity in the former high-class athletes enabled them to maintain for a long time good functional state of the cadiovascular system compared with the former athletes practicing sedentary lifestyle and the subjects who had never been engaged in sports activities. The former athletes practicing sedentary lifestyle developed the hypokinetic type of hemodynamics by the age of 60-69 years.

RESUMO

We develop a model for estimation of the parameters of dynamic tensiometry of biological fluids based on equations of formal chemical kinetics. The model considers diffusion of low- and high-molecular compounds and conformational restructuring of these compounds in the surface layer. This model was tested on cerebrospinal fluid from patients with meningitis. Some correlations between the parameters of tensiometric curves and protein, chloride, neutrophil, and lymphocyte content in the liquor are detected.

RESUMO

We studied the validity and effectiveness of interrupted local negative pressure (ILNP) in rehabilitation of patients who had had acute meningitis. ILNP on the lower part of the body was applied in 28 meningitis convalescents having residual manifestations detected at tetrapolar rheography and psychovegetative testing. As the result of the treatment the patients felt better, their psychovegetative status improved, pulse blood filling of cerebral vessels increased while tonicity of microcirculation vessels diminished. Side effects of ILNP were not registered. Thus, ILNP is effective in convalescents after meningitis.

RESUMO

Analysis of a clinical case of secondary purulent meningitis due to the spread of inflammation from back cells of the ethmoid bone is the focus of this review. Attention is concentrated on difficulties of diagnosing this variant of ethmoiditis and high risk of development of cerebral complications. It is advisable that clinical methods of examination be combined with instrumental ones in order that to avoid gross blunders in diagnosis might be avoided.

RESUMO

Measurements of red cell osmotic resistance in urea test have shown the stabilizing effect of hydrocortisone and ascorbic acid on red cell membrane permeability. This permitted a conclusion on the fitness of the test for assessment of the drug effects on red cell membrane permeability and on the possibility of the use of this test in choosing an individual dose of UV irradiation.

RESUMO

The cerebral blood flow was studied rheoencephalographically in patients with a grave clinical course of purulent meningitides. The main rheographic parameters showed changes in the dynamics of the disease. It is concluded that there is a lack of coordination between the clinical and morphofunctional cure by the time of discharge from the hospital and, thus, rehabilitative treatment should be continued in out-patient conditions.
