RESUMO
A través del tiempo, se han definido conceptos de lo que se considera estético o bello. Estas definiciones han marcado ciertos parámetros de belleza, los cuales son la base para tratamientos de Cirugía plástica, tratamientos de Ortodoncia, y estudios de antropología. Dentro de las diferentes ramas que tiene la práctica odontológica siempre se busca además de la correcta función; la estética, porque, se sabe que esta tiene una gran demanda en la actualidad. Autores como Rufenac y Chiche entre otros mencionan en sus literaturas ciertos parámetros, como: parámetros faciales, parámetros dentales; y parámetros dentofaciales, los cuales nos han ayudado a realizar el presente estudio, cuyo objetivo fue que a través de los parámetros descritos en la literatura se siguiere la transformación de estos en medidas en centímetros a fin de establecer un método complementario más objetivo para el análisis estético facial. Al mismo tiempo, evaluar de forma convencional los aspectos estéticos dental y dentofacial, esto se realizó a través de tres fotografías: frontal seria, frontal sonriente, y tercio inferior sonriente. Esta investigación nos permitió concluir: Que en cuanto al análisis dental y dento-facial no se pueden obtener objetivamente valores numéricos, ya que no hay un punto de referencia fija de donde se puede medir. Se determinó que el tipo de configuración facial más prevalente en mujeres de 18 a 30 años fue el mesofacial, siguiéndole dolicofacial y en menos cantidad braquiofacial. La medida de los tercios en su totalidad de las unidades analizadas fueron asimétricas y a pesar de este resultado, los rostros se mostraban armónicos.
Through time, concepts of what is considered aesthetic or beautiful have been defined. These definitions have set certain parameters of beauty, which are the basis for plastic surgery treatments, orthodontic treatments, and anthropology studies. Within the different branches of dental practice, the correct function is always sought; aesthetics, because, it is known that this is in great demand today. Authors such as Rufenac and Chiche, among others, mention certain parameters in their literature, such as: facial parameters, dental parameters; and dentofacial parameters, which have helped us to carry out the present study, whose objective was that through the parameters described in the literature, the transformation of these into measurements in centimeters is followed in order to establish a more objective complementary method for the analysis facial aesthetics. At the same time, to conventionally evaluate the dental and dentofacial aesthetic aspects, this was done through three photographs: serious frontal, smiling frontal, and smiling lower third. This research allowed us to conclude: That in terms of dental and dento-facial analysis, numerical values ââcannot be obtained objectively, since there is no fixed reference point from which it can be measured. It was determined that the most prevalent type of facial configuration in women between 18 and 30 years of age was the mesofacial, followed by dolichofacial and in less amount brachiofacial. The measurement of thirds in all of the units analyzed were asymmetric and despite this result, the faces were harmonious.
