Preoperative CA125 as a risk factor for symptom recurrence of adenomyosis after ultrasound-guided high-intensity focused ultrasound ablation surgery.

OBJECTIVES: To investigate the relationship between preoperative CA125 and symptom recurrence in adenomyosis after ultrasound-guided high-intensity focused ultrasound ablation surgery (FUAS). METHODS: A total of 502 adenomyosis patients after FUAS in Affiliated Nanchong Central Hospital of North Sichuan Medical College from June 2017 to March 2021 were reviewed. Factors associated with symptom recurrence of adenomyosis were analyzed by binary logistic regression model. ROC was used to determine the optimal cutpoint. Magnitude of preoperative CA125 relating to timing of symptom recurrence was measured by cox regression and Kaplan-Meier (K-M) curves. Besides, multiple liner regression model was used to identify the impacting factors for preoperative CA125. RESULTS: Multiple binary logistic analysis showed preoperative CA125 was related to symptom recurrence (OR = 1.002, 95%: 1.000～1.004, p = 0.043). The ROC of preoperative CA125 for recurrence validated 35 U/ml had a high sensitivity (82.5%). Preoperative CA125 was related to timing of symptom recurrence (HR = 2.255, 95%: 1.387-3.667, p = 0.001). K-M curves showed medium recurrence time in preoperative CA125 level >35 U/ml group (38.5 months) was shorter than that in CA125 level ≤35 U/ml group (44.5 months) (p = 0.001). Multiple liner regression analyses showed uterus volume and adenomyotic lesions volume positively correlated to preoperative CA125 level, while age negatively correlated to preoperative CA125 level. CONCLUSION: The higher level of preoperative CA125 was related to an earlier onset of symptom recurrence after FUAS.

Dicarboxylate Modulating Molecular-Ionic Platinum Compounds with Variable Stacking and Photoluminescence.

Under solvothermal conditions, 10 molecular-ionic platinum compounds [Pt(NIA)2]·(L)·nH2O (L = dicarboxylate) were synthesized. In the reaction, acetonitrile undergoes trimerization in situ to generate N-(1-iminoethyl)acetamidine (NIA), which coordinates to PtII ions in forming the N-(1-iminoethyl)acetamidine platinum cation, while the organic carboxylates act as anions. Structural analysis shows that carboxylate ligands regulate the mode of packing of [Pt(NIA)2] in those compounds. Photoluminescence studies show that the photoluminescence behaviors of those compounds also depended on the carboxylate ligands. 1-4, 6, and 7 show blue light emission with fluorescence emission wavelengths of 437-440 nm despite the different carboxylate ligands used. 5 and 8 show green emissions with maximum intensity peak positions of 522 nm. Compared with that of 5 and 8, the emission of 9 and 10 has the same red shifts with peak positions of 567 and 528 nm. The variable-temperature photoluminescence studies reveal that 8 and 10 show two different thermal quenching (TQ) zones in the range of 80-420 K, while the emission intensity of 9 shows negative thermal quenching at low temperatures of 80-220 K and TQ in the range of 220-420 K.

Metal-Free Oxidative Radical Alkynylation/Ring Expansion Rearrangement of Alkenyl Cyclobutanols with Ethynylbenziodoxolones.

The first metal-free alkynylation/ring expansion cascade process of alkenyl cyclobutanols with ethynylbenziodoxolones has been developed. A variety of synthetically valuable ß-alkynylated cyclopentanones were prepared in moderate to good yields. Alkynyl cyclobutanols could also undergo this transformation, providing a new approach to substituted ene-yne-carbonyl compounds.

Iodine-mediated synthesis of 3-acylbenzothiadiazine 1,1-dioxides.

An iodine-mediated synthesis of 3-acylbenzothiadizine 1,1-dioxides is described. A range of electronically diverse acetophenones reacted well with several 2-aminobenzenesulfonamides, affording 3-acylbenzothiadiazine 1,1-dioxides in good yields.

An efficient synthesis of quinolines via copper-catalyzed C-N cleavage.

An efficient method to synthesize substituted quinolines from ketones and 2-amino benzylamines is described. Copper-catalyzed C-N cleavage of amines followed by condensation with ketones deliver quinolines in moderate to high yields. The broad scope of substrates and the use of air as the sole oxidant make this transformation very attractive.

Copper-catalyzed aerobic synthesis of 2-arylpyridines from acetophenones and 1,3-diaminopropane.

A copper-catalyzed reaction providing direct access to 2-arylpyridines from acetophenones and 1,3-diaminopropane is described. A range of electronically diverse acetophenones undergo this transformation, affording 2-arylpyridines in good yields.

Sulfonylation of five-membered heterocycles via an S(N)Ar reaction.

An efficient, concise, and transition metal-free synthesis of functionalized sulfonylated five-membered heterocyclic compounds via an S(N)Ar reaction has been developed. Using commercially available sodium sulfinates as sulfonylation reagents, various five-membered heterocyclic sulfones were obtained in good yields.

Direct arylation of arene and N-heteroarenes with diaryliodonium salts without the use of transition metal catalyst.

A novel and simple transition metal-free direct arylation of arene and N-heteroarenes with diaryliodonium salts has been developed. This cross-coupling reaction is promoted only by base and gives the desired products in moderate to good yields.
