RESUMO

"Perovskite / Carbon" interface has remained a key bottleneck for the hole-conductor-free perovskite solar cells based on carbon-electrode (CPSCs), due to problems like loose physics contact, defects, energy mismatch, poor chemical coupling, etc. A previous study shows that octylammonium iodide (OAI) blending in carbon paste induced a kind of "in-situ healing" effect for "perovskite / carbon" interface, and improved power conversion efficiency from ≈13% to >19%. Here the beneath mechanism is further explored by careful examination of the interaction between OAI molecule and carbon black (CB) nanoparticles. It comes to show that, the famous "CB adsorption" plays a key role during the "healing" processes. Due to CB adsorption behavior, the mass ratio between OAI and CB influences much on the healing effect. By suitably adjusting the mass ratio between OAI and CB, and increasing the light harvest of perovskite, an efficiency of 19.41% is achieved for the hole-conductor-free CPSCs. Device efficiency and the charge-extraction and recombination process are tracked with the storage period, continuous improvement appears for devices assembled by relatively higher CB mass. A kind of "slow-release effect" is revealed during the OAI-induced "in-situ healing" process, which is caused by the famous "CB adsorption" behavior.

RESUMO

The concept of Federated Learning (FL) is a distributed-based machine learning (ML) approach that trains its model using edge devices. Its focus is on maintaining privacy by transmitting gradient updates along with users' learning parameters to the global server in the process of training as well as preserving the integrity of data on the user-end of internet of medical things (IoMT) devices. Instead of a direct use of user data, the training which is performed on the global server is done on the parameters while the model modification is performed locally on IoMT devices. But the major drawback of this federated learning approach is its inability to preserve user privacy complete thereby resulting in gradients leakage. Thus, this study first presents a summary of the process of learning and further proposes a new approach for federated medical recommender system which employs the use of homomorphic cryptography to ensure a more privacy-preservation of user gradients during recommendations. The experimental results indicate an insignificant decrease with respect to the metrics of accuracy, however, a greater percentage of user-privacy is achieved. Further analysis also shows that performing computations on encrypted gradients at the global server scarcely has any impact on the output of the recommendation while guaranteeing a supplementary secure channel for transmitting user-based gradients back and forth the global server. The result of this analysis indicates that the performance of federated stochastic modification minimized gradient (FSMMG) algorithm is greatly increased at every given increase in the number of users and a good convergence is achieved as well. Also, experiments indicate that when compared against other existing techniques, the proposed FSMMG outperforms at 98.3% encryption accuracy.

RESUMO

"Perovskite/carbon" interface is a bottle-neck for hole-conductor-free, carbon-electrode basing perovskite solar cells due to the energy mismatch and concentrated defects. In this article, in-situ healing strategy is proposed by doping octylammonium iodide into carbon paste that used to prepare carbon-electrode on perovskite layer. This strategy is found to strengthen interfacial contact and reduce interfacial defects on one hand, and slightly elevate the work function of the carbon-electrode on other hand. Due to this effect, charge extraction is accelerated, while recombination is obviously reduced. Accordingly, power conversion efficiency of the hole-conductor-free, planar perovskite solar cells is upgraded by ≈50%, or from 11.65 (± 1.59) % to 17.97 (± 0.32) % (AM1.5G, 100 mW cm-2 ). The optimized device shows efficiency of 19.42% and open-circuit voltage of 1.11 V. Meanwhile, moisture-stability is tested by keeping the unsealed devices in closed chamber with relative humidity of 85%. The "in-situ healing" strategy helps to obtain T80 time of >450 h for the carbon-electrode basing devices, which is four times of the reference ones. Thus, a kind of "internal encapsulation effect" has also been reached. The "in situ healing" strategy facilitates the fabrication of efficient and stable hole-conductor-free devices basing on carbon-electrode.

RESUMO

Polyvinyl pyrrolidone is blended in PbI2 with varied concentration, so as to study the coarsening dynamics of perovskite during the two-step growth method. It is observed that polyvinyl pyrrolidone hinders the crystallization of PbI2 and helps to form a more amorphous PbI2 matrix, which then improves perovskite crystallization. As the blending concentration increases from 0 to 2 mM, average crystallite/grain size of perovskite increases from 40.29 nm/0.79 µm to 84.35 nm/1.02 µm while surface fluctuation decreases slightly from 25.64 to 23.96 nm. The observations are caused by the "confinement effect" brought by polyvinyl pyrrolidone on PbI2 . Elevating blending concentration of polyvinyl pyrrolidone results in smaller PbI2 crystallites and more amorphous PbI2 matrix, thus reducing the diffusion/reaction barrier between PbI2 and organic salt and favoring perovskite crystallization. As blending concentration increases from 0 to 2 mM, the device efficiency rises from 19.76 (± 0.60) % to 20.50 (± 0.89) %, with the optimized value up to 22.05%, which is further improved to 24.48% after n-Octylammonium iodide (OAI)-basing surface modification. The study enlarges the scope of "confinement effect" brought by polymer molecules, which is beneficial for efficient and stable perovskite solar cell fabrication.

RESUMO

Polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) is doped to PbI2 and organic salt during two-step growth of halideperovskite. It is observed that PVP molecules can interact with both PbI2 and organic salt, reduce the aggregation and crystallization of the two, and then slow down the coarsening rate of perovskite. As doping concentration increases from 0 to 1 mM in organic salt, average crystallite size of perovskite decreases monotonously from 90 to 34 nm; Surface fluctuation reduces from 259.9 to 179.8 nm at first, and then increases; Similarly, surface roughness decreases from 45.55 to 26.64 nm at first, and then rises. Accordingly, a kind of "confinement effect" is resolved to crystallite growth and surface fluctuation/roughness, which helps to build compact and uniform perovskite film. Density of trap states (t-DOS) is cut down by ≈60% at moderate doping  (0.2 mM). Due to the "confinement effect", power conversion efficiency of perovskite solar cells is improved from 19.46 (±2.80) % to 21.50 (±0.99) %, and further improved to 24.11% after surface modification. Meanwhile, "confinement effect" strengthens crystallite/grain boundaries and improves thermal stability of both film and device. T80 of device increases to 120 h, compared to 50 h for reference ones.

RESUMO

Fast reaction between organic salt and lead iodide always leads to small perovskite crystallites and concentrated defects. Here, polyacrylic acid is blended with organic salt, so as to regulate the crystallization in a two-step growth method. It is observed that addition of polyacrylic acid retards aggregation and crystallization behavior of the organic salt, and slows down the reaction rate between organic salt and PbI2 , by which "slow-release effect" is defined. Such effect improves crystallization of perovskite. X-ray diffraction study shows that, after addition of 2 mm polyacrylic acid, average crystallite size of perovskite increases from ≈40 to ≈90 nm, meanwhile, grain size increases. Thermal admittance spectroscopy study shows that trap density is reduced by nearly one order (especially for deep energy levels). Due to the improved crystallization and reduced trap density, charge recombination is obviously reduced, while lifetime of charge carriers in perovskite film and devices are prolonged, according to time-resolved photoluminescence and transient photo-voltage decay curve tests, respectively. Accordingly, power conversion efficiency of the device is promoted from 19.96 (±0.41)% to 21.84 (±0.25)% (with a champion efficiency of 22.31%), and further elevated to 24.19% after surface modification by octylammonium iodide.

RESUMO

Blockchain is a recent revolutionary technology primarily associated with cryptocurrencies. It has many unique features including its acting as a decentralized, immutable, shared, and distributed ledger. Blockchain can store all types of data with better security. It avoids third-party intervention to ensure better security of the data. Deep learning is another booming field that is mostly used in computer applications. This work proposes an integrated environment of a blockchain-deep learning environment for analyzing the Electronic Health Records (EHR). The EHR is the medical documentation of a patient which can be shared among hospitals and other public health organizations. The proposed work enables a deep learning algorithm act as an agent to analyze the EHR data which is stored in the blockchain. This proposed integrated environment can alert the patients by means of a reminder for consultation, diet chart, etc. This work utilizes the deep learning approach to analyze the EHR, after which an alert will be sent to the patient's registered mobile number.

RESUMO

Background: Intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP) usually occurs in the third trimester and is associated with increased risks in fetal complications. Currently, the exact mechanism of this disease is unknown. The purpose of this study was to develop potential biomarkers for the diagnosis and prediction of ICP. Methods: We enrolled 40 pregnant women diagnosed with ICP and 40 healthy pregnant controls. The number of placental samples and serum samples between the two groups was 10 and 40 respectively. Ultra-performance liquid chromatography tandem high-resolution mass spectrometry was used to analyze placental metabolomics. Then, we verified the differentially expressed proteins and metabolites, both placental and blood serum, in the first, second, and third trimesters. Results: Metabolomic analysis of placental tissue revealed that fatty acid metabolism and primary bile acid biosynthesis were enriched. In the integrated proteomic and metabolomic analysis of placental tissue, peroxisomal acyl-CoA oxidase 1 (ACOX1), L-palmitoylcarnitine, and glycocholic acid were found to be three potential biomarkers. In a follow-up analysis, expression levels of both placental and serum ACOX1, L-palmitoylcarnitine, and glycocholic acid in both placenta and serum were found to be significantly higher in third-trimester ICP patients; the areas under the ROC curves were 0.823, 0.896, and 0.985, respectively. Expression levels of serum ACOX1, L-palmitoylcarnitine, and glycocholic acid were also significantly higher in first- and second-trimester ICP patients; the areas under the ROC curves were 0.726, 0.657, and 0.686 in the first trimester and 0.718, 0.727, and 0.670 in the second trimester, respectively. Together, levels of the three aforementioned biomarkers increased the value for diagnosing and predicting ICP (AUC: 0.993 for the third, 0.891 for the second, and 0.932 for the first trimesters). Conclusions: L-palmitoylcarnitine, ACOX1, and glycocholic acid levels taken together may serve as a new biomarker set for the diagnosis and prediction of ICP.

RESUMO

Recommender systems offer several advantages to hospital data management units and patients with special needs. These systems are more dependent on the extreme subtle hospital-patient data. Thus, disregarding the confidentiality of patients with special needs is not an option. In recent times, several proposed techniques failed to cryptographically guarantee the data privacy of the patients with special needs in the diet recommender systems (RSs) deployment. In order to tackle this pitfall, this paper incorporates a blockchain privacy system (BPS) into deep learning for a diet recommendation system for patients with special needs. Our proposed technique allows patients to get notifications about recommended treatments and medications based on their personalized data without revealing their confidential information. Additionally, the paper implemented machine and deep learning algorithms such as RNN, Logistic Regression, MLP, etc., on an Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) dataset acquired via the internet and hospitals that comprises the data of 50 patients with 13 features of various diseases and 1,000 products. The product section has a set of eight features. The IoMT data features were analyzed with BPS and further encoded prior to the application of deep and machine learning-based frameworks. The performance of the different machine and deep learning methods were carried out and the results verify that the long short-term memory (LSTM) technique is more effective than other schemes regarding prediction accuracy, precision, F1-measures, and recall in a secured blockchain privacy system. Results showed that 97.74% accuracy utilizing the LSTM deep learning model was attained. The precision of 98%, recall, and F1-measure of 99% each for the allowed class was also attained. For the disallowed class, the scores were 89, 73, and 80% for precision, recall, and F1-measure, respectively. The performance of our proposed BPS is subdivided into two categories: the secured communication channel of the recommendation system and an enhanced deep learning approach using health base medical dataset that spontaneously identifies what food a patient with special needs should have based on their disease and certain features including gender, weight, age, etc. The proposed system is outstanding as none of the earlier revised works of literature described a recommender system of this kind.

RESUMO

Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are a class of important regulators participating in various pathological processes. Until now, the role of lncRNAs in the occurrence and development of intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP) has rarely been investigated. The data from microarray screening revealed 58 upregulated and 85 downregulated lncRNAs and 47 upregulated and 71 downregulated mRNAs in ICP patients compared to healthy controls. Bioinformatics analysis revealed biological processes focused on lipid metabolism, apoptosis, cell cycle, cell differentiation, and oxidative stress. Furthermore, the expressions of three lncRNAs (ENST00000505175.1, ASO3480, and ENST00000449605.1) chosen for verification were significantly decreased and showed the diagnostic and prognostic value for ICP based on ROC analysis. This is the first study to report the specific role of lncRNAs in ICP, which may be helpful for the diagnosis and prognosis of ICP clinically.

RESUMO

We used data-independent acquisition (DIA) proteomics technology followed by ELISAs and automated biochemical analyses to identify and validate protein expression levels in Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy (ICP) and healthy pregnant controls. We employed bioinformatics to identify metabolic processes associated with differentially expressed proteins. The expression levels of two proteins (S100-A9 and the L-lactate dehydrogenase A chain) were significantly higher in ICP patients than in controls; the areas under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves (AUCs) were 0.774 and 0.828, respectively. The expression levels of two other proteins (apolipoprotein A-I and cholinesterase) were significantly lower in patients, with values of 0.900 and 0.842, respectively. Multiple logistic regression showed that a combination of the levels of the four proteins optimized the AUC (0.962), thus more reliably diagnosing ICP. The levels of all four proteins were positively associated with that of total bile acids. Bioinformatics analyses indicated that the four proteins principally affected neutrophil activation involved in the immune response, cell adhesion, lipoprotein metabolism, and the PPAR signaling pathway. SIGNIFICANCE: This preliminary work improves our understanding of changes in serum levels of protein in pregnant women with ICP. The four proteins may serve as novel noninvasive biomarkers for ICP.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: Preliminary screening for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is mainly performed offline in China. This method is time consuming, labor intensive, inefficient and costly. These complications limit its routine implementation in some hospitals and child health institutions, especially community health service centers. Thus, the present study explored the clinical applicability of an online screening system for ASD detection based on telemedicine technology. METHODS: The online screening system designed based on the WeChat platform and section A of the Chinese-validated version of the checklist for autism in toddlers (CHAT-23-A) and combined with an independent Research and Development (R&D) program. The sensitivity and specificity were 0.92 and 0.90, respectively, and the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) values for all 23 items and 7 key items were 0.934 and 0.91, respectively. RESULTS: The online screening system based on telemedicine technology was not limited by time, space, region, or medical resources and showed high sensitivity, specificity, and diagnostic efficiency for ASD. CONCLUSION: The online screening system based on telemedicine technology is suitable for large-scale population ASD screening in childcare institutions.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Schizophrenia is a severe, heritable, and refractory psychiatric disorder. Several studies have shown that the disrupted in schizophrenia 1 (DISC1) gene is closely associated with schizophrenia by its role in neuronal morphology, synaptic function, brain development, and dopamine homeostasis etc. This study intended to investigate the expression levels of DISC1 gene in schizophrenia patients compared with healthy controls, and the expression variation of DISC1 gene before and after antipsychotic treatment in schizophrenia patients. METHODS: In this study, we compared DISC1 expression levels in blood of 48 healthy controls, and 32 schizophrenia patients before and after 12 weeks of antipsychotic treatment using real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) analysis. RESULTS: The expression levels of DISC1 gene in peripheral blood mononuclear cells of schizophrenia patients before antipsychotic treatment were higher than those in healthy controls (P < 0.01); whereas after antipsychotic treatment, the expression levels of DISC1 gene in peripheral blood mononuclear cells of schizophrenia patients still remained increased (P < 0.01). CONCLUSIONS: Our study provided further support for the involvement of DISC1 in the development of schizophrenia.

RESUMO

Dysfunction of trophoblast metastasis into the endometrium is the main cause of pre-eclampsia (PE); however, the factors affecting this process are still unclear. In this study, we found that endoplasmic reticulum protein 29 (ERp29), one molecular chaperone of the endoplasmic reticulum, was aberrantly upregulated in the placenta of pre-eclamptic patients compared with healthy controls. Then, an in vitro study using human extravillous trophoblast HTR-8/SVneo cells showed that ERp29 upregulation could inhibit the migratory and invasive ability of HTR-8/SVneo cells, while ERp29 downregulation had the opposite effect. Mechanical experiments confirmed that ERp29 blocked trophoblast metastasis via inhibiting the process of epithelial-mesenchymal transition and affecting the Wnt/ß-catenin signaling pathway. In conclusion, this study revealed the important role of ERp29 in trophoblast metastasis and improved the mechanical understanding of PE occurrence.

RESUMO

The manipulation of crystal orientation from the thermodynamic equilibrium states is desired in layered hybrid perovskite films to direct charge transport and enhance the perovskite devices performance. Here we report a templated growth mechanism of layered perovskites from 3D-like perovskites which can be a general design rule to align layered perovskites along the out-of-plane direction in films made by both spin-coating and scalable blading process. The method involves suppressing the nucleation of both layered and 3D perovskites inside the perovskite solution using additional ammonium halide salts, which forces the film formation starts from solution surface. The fast drying of solvent at liquid surface leaves 3D-like perovskites which surprisingly templates the growth of layered perovskites, enabled by the periodic corner-sharing octahedra networks on the surface of 3D-like perovskites. This discovery provides deep insights into the nucleation behavior of octahedra-array-based perovskite materials, representing a general strategy to manipulate the orientation of layered perovskites.

RESUMO

Intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP) is a liver disorder occurred in pregnant women, and the mechanism for such disease is still unclear. The bioinformatics analysis of our previous study has revealed the abnormal expression of endoplasmic reticulum protein 29 (ERp29) in placental tissue of ICP patients. In this study, the function of ERp29 was further explored using in vitro model of ICP. The results showed that up-regulation of ERp29 occurred in TCA (taurocholic acid)-treated human trophoblast HTR-8/SVeno cells, and ERp29 inhibition reversed TCA toxicity via attenuating G2/M arrest and cell apoptosis. Mechanical study revealed ERp29 inhibition suppressed phosphorylation and kinase activity of p38, thus subsequently affecting expression and phosphorylation of p53 (ser18) as well as the transcriptional activity of p53. The conduction of this study might confirm the important role of ERp29 in ICP and which would be helpful for the development of target therapeutic method for ICP.

RESUMO

The technique of multiform time derivatives of pulse has been shown necessary to achieve various time-space metrology goals with a precision at or beyond the standard quantum limit. However, the efficient generation of the desired time derivatives remains challenging. In this paper, we report on the efficient realization of multiform time derivatives with a programmable 4-f pulse shaping system. The first-order time derivative of the pulse electric field has been achieved with a generation efficiency of 72.12%, which is more than 20 times higher than that of previous methods. Moreover, the first- and second-order time derivatives of the pulse envelope have been achieved with the generation efficiencies being 11.10% and 3.53%, respectively. In comparison, these efficiencies are three times higher than those for previously reported methods. Meanwhile, the measured fidelities of the three time-derived pulses are reasonably high, with values of 99.53%, 98.37% and 97.32% respectively.

RESUMO

In this paper, a model for simulating the optical response and noise performances of photodetectors with L-C coupling and transimpedance amplification circuit is presented. To verify the simulation, two kinds of photodetectors, which are based on the same printed-circuit-board (PCB) designing and PIN photodiode but different operational amplifiers, are developed and experimentally investigated. Through the comparisons between the numerical simulation results and the experimentally obtained data, excellent agreements are achieved, which show that the model provides a highly efficient guide for the development of a high signal to noise ratio photodetector. Furthermore, the parasite capacitances on the developed PCB, which are always hardly measured but play a non-negligible influence on the photodetectors' performances, are estimated.

RESUMO

Ultrasmall black phosphorus quantum dots (BPQDs) serve as the near-infrared light absorber and charge transfer layer in the photocathode of a bifacial n-type dye sensitized solar cell. Wideband light absorption and ≈20% enhancement in the light-to-electron efficiency are accomplished due to the fast carrier transfer and complementary light absorption by the BPQDs demonstrating that BP has large potential in photovoltaics.

RESUMO

Titanium dioxide sols were synthesized by hydrothermal reactions with addition of poly (ethylene glycol) (Mw=20,000). Using techniques of X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, dynamic light scattering, and scanning electron microscopy, effect of PEG on the crystallographic properties, particle size, aggregating behavior, and the morphological properties of nanoparticles in the sols were studied. It was found that growth of anatase nanocrystallites was retarded by PEG. Average crystallite size of anatase nanocrystallites first decreased from 20.7 nm to 10.5 nm as the polymer concentration increased from 1 g/L to 3 g/L, and then changed little. Meanwhile, small amount of rutile phases like rutile nanowires, twin crystallites, and the "flowers" appeared continuously when the concentration increased from 3 g/L to 5 g/L. Mono-dispersion was obtained with relatively lower PEG concentration. The observed evolvement was discussed based on the interaction between the polymers and the nanocrystallites with assistance of FTIR. The coverage of polymer chains on surface of nanocrystallites leads to isolated reactors, which benefits the uniform coarsening rate of the nanocrystallites. The synthesized TiO(2) sols were utilized in dye sensitized solar cells. Performance parameters of the solar cells were discussed with assistance of dye desorption experiments. The improved dispersion in sols was found to benefit the photovoltaic performance of the cells.
