RESUMO

PURPOSE: To observe the effect of non-bracket invisible appliance and self-locking bracket appliance on periodontal health and subgingival flora in patients with periodontitis. METHODS: One hundred and ten patients with periodontitis who received orthodontic treatment were divided into invisible group and self-locking bracket group. The periodontal index including probing depth (PD), gingival index (GI), sulcular bleeding index (SBI) and plaque index (PLI) ,and the levels of inflammatory factors in the gingival crevicular fluid were examined. Visual analogue scale (VAS) was used to evaluate periodontal pain before and after correction, and the curative effect was evaluated. The status of common pathogenic bacteria in the subgingival plaque of patients after correction was detected by PCR. The data were analyzed with SPSS19.0 software package. RESULTS: Twelve months after treatment and at the end of treatment, PLI of the self-locking bracket group was significantly higher than the invisible group(P<0.05), but PD, GI and SBI between the two groups had no significant difference. After correction, the inflammatory factors in the invisible group were significantly lower than those in the self-locking bracket group(P<0.05). At 1d after treatment, pain index in the invisible group was significantly lower than the self-locking group(P<0.05). The clinical total effective rate of the invisible group was significantly higher than the self-locking group (89.10% vs 76.36%). After treatment, the detection rate and the content of subgingival pathogenic bacteria in the self-locking bracket group were significantly higher than the invisible group(P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: During orthodontic treatment of periodontitis, wearing non-bracket invisible appliance can effectively inhibit inflammatory response and proliferation of subgingival pathogens, which is more conducive to the maintenance of periodontal health and oral hygiene.

RESUMO

Icariin (ICA) is one of the main bioactive monomer belonging to the flavonoid glycosides that has been widely studied in multiple diseases, including lung cancer. Although ICA has shown anticancer effects, its specific molecular mechanism of action remains to be elucidated. In the present study, the expression of microRNA (miR)2055p and Phosphatase and tensin homolog deleted on chromosome ten (PTEN) in human lung cancer and bronchial cells were analyzed. Cell viability, colony formation, migration, invasion, apoptosis and cell cycle distribution were investigated in vitro. In addition, the function of ICA on tumor growth was determined using a xenotransplantation model. The results showed that ICA decreased the viability of lung cancer cells. In addition, miR2055p was upregulated in lung cancer tissues but downregulated following ICA treatment, while PTEN showed a significantly lower expression in lung cancer cells. miR2055p could increase cancer cell proliferation, migration, invasion and cell cycle progression while suppressing cell apoptosis. Importantly, rescue experiment results showed that ICA could target the miR2055p/PTEN axis to affect the PI3K/Akt signaling, thereby suppressing the malignant cell phenotype of lung cancer. Finally, animal experiments confirmed that ICA could inhibit lung cancer growth in vivo. Taken together, our findings suggest that miR2055p is a key gene targeted by ICA to inhibit lung cancer progression.

RESUMO

In this paper, a terahertz (THz) biosensor based on all-metal metamaterial is theoretically investigated and experimentally verified. This THz metamaterial biosensor uses stainless steel materials that are manufactured via laser-drilling technology. The simulation results show that the maximum refractive index sensitivity and the figure of merit of this metamaterial sensor are 294.95 GHz/RIU and 4.03, respectively. Then, bovine serum albumin was chosen as the detection substance to assess this biosensor's effectiveness. The experiment results show that the detection sensitivity is 72.81 GHz/(ng/mm2) and the limit of detection is 0.035 mg/mL. This THz metamaterial biosensor is simple, cost-effective, easy to fabricate, and has great potential in various biosensing applications.

RESUMO

Objective: Neck management in cT1-2N0 tongue squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) remains controversial. Our goal was to compare the survival difference between PET-CT-guided neck dissection and elective neck dissection (END) for the treatment of cT1-2 tongue SCC. Methods: Patients with surgically treated cT1-2N0 tongue SCC were retrospectively enrolled. These patients were divided into two groups. Group A: The decision of whether to perform neck dissection was mainly based on the results of preoperative PET-CT examinations. Group B: Patients received END treatment without preoperative PET-CT examinations. The study endpoints were regional control (RC) and disease-specific survival (DSS). The Kaplan-Meier method was used to calculate the survival rates. Results: Group A consisted of 66 patients, and 16 patients underwent neck dissection owing to positive PET-CT results. Group B consisted of 169 patients. The 5-year RC rates in group A and group B were 86 and 87%, respectively, and the difference was not significant (p = 0.731). The 5-year DSS rates in group A and group B were 93 and 90%, respectively, and the difference was not significant (p = 0.583). Conclusions: Neck dissection can be safely avoided when the PET-CT scan reveals no neck lymph node involvement.

RESUMO

LC-MS was used to detect 41 population of Lonicera japonica from different areas. LC-MS chemical chromatographic profile has been established. There were 23 common peaks, seventeen of which were identified according to reference standard and reference; SPSS software was applied to calculate the similarity of chemical fingerprints of 41 batches and the range was from 0.99 to 0.12. On this basis, the L. japonica's metabolites consistency was classified. Combined with comprehensive analysis of genetic identity, we can provide a theoretical basis for the authenticity research of Dao-di herbs and reference information for the breeding of excellent L. japonica.

RESUMO

A total of 58 varieties in Lonicera japonica from 20 producing areas were amplified by 22 pairs of SSR primers. Seven pairs of polymorphic primers were screened and their primers were used to establish DNA identity card and analyze genetic similarity. All the 58 varieties could be distinguished each other by the DNA identity card constituted by 7 pairs of core SSR primers. The genetic similarity coefficients of 58 varieties ranged from 0.366 7 to 0.916 7 by using PopGene32(vesion1.32). Furthermore, all the varieties consistency were classified into 4 groups and constructed an evaluation table according to cluster analysis by an un-weighted pair-group average method with arithmetic mean. As expected, the results of cluster and evaluation table reflected 58 varieties relatives, which provide reference information for the selection of fine germplasm of L. japonica and the theoretical basis for the study of Dao-di herbs.
