RESUMO

OBJECTIVE@#To explore the correlation of the electric excitability treated with electroacupuncture (EA) at different acupoints and the prognosis of Bell's palsy, using the Logistic regression analysis.@*METHODS@#A total of 93 patients of Bell's palsy were collected in the retrospective analysis. Acupuncture was applied to Cuanzu (BL 2), Yangbai (GB 14), Yingxiang (LI 20), Dicang (ST 4), Xiaguan (ST 7) and Qianzheng (Extra point) on the affected side. The electric stimulation was added at the three pairs of points, named Cuanzu (BL 2) and Yangbai (GB 14) (A group), Yingxiang (LI 20) and Dicang (ST 4) (B group) and Qianzheng (Extra point) and Xiaguan (ST 7) (C group), continue wave, 1 Hz at current frequency, for 30 min in one treatment. EA was given once every two days. The endpoint outcome evaluation was conducted when the facial nerve function was recovered completely after treatment or in 16 weeks after onset. On the 8th day of onset, the prognosis-related indexes were collected, such as the electric excitability grade in the A, B and C groups, gender, age, the facial nerve lesion segment and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The Logistic regression analysis was conducted on these indexes and the prognosis.@*RESULTS@#The single factor Logistic regression analysis showed that the gender, age and the electric excitability of the C group were negatively correlated with the prognosis statistically (>0.05). T2DM, the facial nerve lesion segment and the electric excitability of the A and B groups were positively correlated with the prognosis statistically (<0.05). The multivariate Logistic regression analysis indicated that the electric excitability in the A and B groups was the independent predictor of Bell's palsy prognosis (<0.05). values were 8.410 (1.176-60.113) and 12.589 (1.355-116.922) respectively.@*CONCLUSION@#The electric excitability of EA at the pairs of Cuanzu (BL 2) and Yangbai (GB 14), and of Yingxiang (LI 20) and Dicang (ST 4) is one of the indexes for the prognosis evaluation of Bell's palsy. It contributes to the early identification of the severity of facial nerve lesion, the regulation of the therapeutic regimen and the improvement of the clinical effects.

RESUMO

Objective:To observe the curative effect of Xi(Cleft) point electro-acupuncture on acute cervical spondylopathy of blood stasis type. Methods: 32 cases of acute spondylopathy of blood stasis type were treated with electroacupuncture on Huizong(TE 7) point, Xi (Cleft) point of Triple Energizer Meridian of Hand Shaoyang and Yanglao(SI 6) point, Xi (Cleft) point of Small Intestin Meridian of Hand Taiyang. 31 cases were randomly selected as the research subjects for control group and treated with routine treatment. At the same time changes of hemorheology were observed in the two groups before and after treatment. VAS was used for pain evaluation. Results and conclusion: The total curative effect in treatment group was 93.8%, the average duration of course 20.2±3.1d, pain accumulation points 3.47±1.45;The total curative effect in contrast group was 83.9%, the average duration of course 26.5±1.8 d, pain accumulation points 5.67±1.52. P<0.01 after t test. Ridit analysis was used for analysis of the therapeutic effect. P<0.05. There were some improvements in hemorheology in the two groups before and after treatment. It showed that there was a significant difference in the two groups in therapeutic results and average duration of course. The therapeutic results were improved and duration of course shortened in the treatment group.

RESUMO

【Objective】To observe the effect of acupuncture mainly on cleft points on chemical radiculitis rats and to explore the therapeutic mechanism of acupuncture on lumbar disc prolapse.【Methods】Twenty-four rats with chemical radiculitis were equally randomized into acupuncture group and model group, and another 12 normal rats were in the blank control group.Acupuncture group received acupuncture on acupoints of Jiaji(EX-B2)and Weizhong(BL40)and cleft points of Foot-Shaoyang Meridian and Foot-Taiyang Meridian for 28 days. After treatment, rat behavioral changes and morphological features of nerve cells were observed, the weight of inflammation filter paper was detected, and hemorheologic parameters, nitric oxide (NO) and interleukin 6(IL-6) were assayed.【Results】Acupuncture improved the motor function of affected limb, recovered the senses of pain and tough, improved hemorheologic parameters, reduced the inflammatory reaction, relieved degeneration of nerve root, and decreased the contents of inflammatory factors(P

RESUMO

[ Objective ] To observe the therapeutic effect of acupuncture on cleft acupoints combined with puerarin intervention for the treatment of prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc with blood stasis. [ Methods ] Sixty cases were divided into two groups by using random number: group A (n = 30) was treated by acupuncturing the Jiaji points from 4th lumbar vertebrae to 1st sacral vertebrae and specific points such as Waiqiu (GB36), Weizhong (BL40) and Xiaxi (GB43), and with intervention of puerarin Injection into the region of affected lumbar intervertebral foramen; group B (n = 30) was treated by acupuncturing the same acupoints as group A and with routine acupoint injection of puerarin Injection. After a 30-day treatment , the therapeutic effect in the two groups was evaluated by symptoms and signs scoring and pain visual stimulation scoring method. Peripheral blood interleukin 6 (IL-6) and blood rheology parameters before and after treatment were also observed to investigate the therapeutic mechanism. [Results] After one treatment course, the therapeutic effect in group A was better than that in group B (Z = 2.525, P = 0.012) and the mean treatment course was shorter (P 0.05). [Conclusion] The synergistic action of acupuncture combined with puerarin intervention for the treatment of prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc with blood stasis is better than that of routine acupoint injection of puerarin Injection. The mechanism may be related to the fact that intervention treatment can introduce the drug to the affected area, which benefits the improvement of peripheral blood IL-6 and blood rheology parameters, and thus relieve radiculitis.

RESUMO

Purpose: To study the function of surrounding acupuncture located by cranial MRI on apoplexy. Method: Forty cases of the patients diagnosed as cerebral infarction were divided into the group of surrounding acupuncture by MRI location and the group of traditional scalp acupuncture, 20 cases in each group, and were treated respectively with surrounding acupunc -ture by MRI location and traditional scalp acupuncture,to determine the indexes of blood rheology before and after treatments. Results: There was significant diffe -fence (P<0.01) in comparison of various indexes in blood rheology between the apoplectic patients and healthy adults of same age. In comparison before and after the treatments in the group of surrounding acupunc -ture by MRI location there was significant difference (P<0.01) in various indexes of blood rheology, except ESR and ESR equation K value. In comparison before and after the treatments in the group of traditional scalp acupuncture, there was significant difference (P<0.05) in various indexes of blood rheology, except ESR, sclerosis index and ESR equation K value. Conclusion: The findings indicate that blood becomes thick and flows slowly and resistance increases in blood flow in the apoplectic patients. The two kinds of the needling techniques have an improving function in various indexes of blood rheology in the apoplectic patients and surrounding acupuncture by MRI location was better than traditional scalp acupuncture in improving blood rheology.
