RESUMO

Plasma fibrinogen was measured by kinetic photometry with two Soviet analogs of the foreign agent batroxobin: ancistron-N and agichal, obtained from Central Asian Aspidelaps lubricus venom by different techniques. Both the preparations of thrombin-like enzyme from the venom have proved to be adequate substituents of batroxobin; the optimal concentration of ancistron-N for this test was found to be 20 micrograms/ml or 0.04 U/ml, that of agichal 0.5 micrograms/ml.

RESUMO

The effect of X-radiation (0.21 C/kg) on a lipid component of aminoacyl-tRNA-synthetase complexes from rat liver (for instance, phospholipids, neutral lipids, and prostaglandins) has been studied. The content of prostaglandins and lysophosphatidyl choline increases and that of phospholipids and neutral lipids decreases 60 min after irradiation. In 24 h, the content of prostaglandins, fatty acids, cholesterol, and phosphatidyl ethanolamine approaches the control level.

RESUMO

A method is suggested for quantitative fluorimetric analysis of natural prostaglandins (PGs). It is based on preparation of the fluorescent methylbenzocoumarine PG esters after their reaction with 4-bromomethyl-7.8-benzocoumarine (Br-MBC). Conditions for the reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography were evaluated, which permitted separating PGs into groups and according to the degree of unsaturation. Sensitivity and linear dependence of the ester fluorescence on the PG concentration make this method suitable for the quantitative analysis of PGs in different biological objects.

RESUMO

The effect of cholera enterotoxin on biosynthesis and metabolism of prostaglandins in the rat small intestine was studied. It was shown that in the course of action of cholera enterotoxin maximal synthesis and metabolism of prostaglandins (PG) was observed within the first 30 minutes after enterotoxin administration into the isolated intestinal loop. It was found that cholera enterotoxin induced, on the one hand, the shift in the correlation of different types of prostaglandins synthetized in vitro and, on the other, differentially activated PG synthesis and metabolism after pretreatment with the PG-synthetase inhibitor indomethacin.
