RESUMO

Effects of a factor extracted from the epiphysis on the ultrastructure of adenohypophyseal cells of immature female rats have been stuided. This factor exerted it effects mainly on lactotropocytes on stimulating their differentiation and proliferation. In the lactotropocyte cytoplasm, ultrastructural changes were noticed in elements of the protein-synthesizing system suggesting a sharp enhancing of the synthesis and release of prolactin. The study supported the earlier supposion that the epiphyse may contain a factor similar in its effect to hypothalamic prolactoliberin.

RESUMO

The prolaction content in the adenohypophysis decreased more than two-fold, and its biosynthesis and release were significantly intensified in deficiency of thyroid hormones. The study of the hypothalamus and epiphysis links controlling the lactotropic function of the hypophysis demonstrated that the biosynthesis and release of prolactin were not inhibited after thyroidectomy. On the 13th--14th postoperative day no irreversible changes were revealed in the hypothalamic links of the control of this function, since it responded to prolactin administration to the experimental animals.

RESUMO

Injection of testosterone-propionate to female Wistar rats on the 2nd--4th days of birth failed to alter the serotonin level, but produced a sharp fall of the noradrenaline and dopamine levels in the hypothalamus of 3 1/2-month-old animals. This was accompanied by an increase in the prolactin content in the adenohypophysis with the retention of the normal somatotropic activity. The results of these studied indicated the participation of catecholamines in the pathogenesis of the anovular sterility, and elucidated current views on the control of the hypophysial gonadotropic function.

RESUMO

The content of serotonin in hypothalamus of thyroidectomized rats is twice as low on the 5th day and twice as high on the 14th day after the operation as in the intact animals. Specific radioactivity of serotonin after subarachnoid administration of tryptophan-14C an hour before killing is twice as high on the 5th day and twice as low on the 14th day. Exogenous somatotropin prevents from the mentioned changes on the 5th day. A conclusion is drawn that the changes in serotonin metabolism in the hypothalamus of rats after thyroidectomy is mainly determined by the changes in the level of somatotropin in the organism.

RESUMO

A method is developed for a simultaneous determination of the content of biogenic phenyl- and indolalkylamines and their predecessors. The method includes preparation of a homogenate by cutting the animal tissue and its extraction in acidic butanol, purification of butanol from tissue by centrifugation, subsequent conversion of the substances from the alcohol phase to the aqueous one and lyophilization of the latter. Then thin layer chromatography is performed. For obtaining the neutral separating layer the mixture of the microcyrstalline cellulose JIT and silicagel is used. The mixture ethyl acetate--acetic acid--water (5:1.5:1.5) is used as a solvent. The thin layers of cellulose JIT or ecteolo-cellulose with the solvent 0.01-n HC1 and cellulose JIT with the solvent ethyl acetate--acetic acid-water (5:1.5:1.5) may be used, respectively, for determining the content of the reactions final products, when measuring the enzymic activities of DOPA-decarboxylase and 5-oxytryptophan-decarboxylase.
