RESUMEN El objetivo del siguiente artículo de reflexion es ofrecer una lectura del concepto de amor en el pensamiento de Alain Badiou que medie y armonice el trasfondo abstracto y formal de su metaontología con sus conocidas intervenciones sobre este concepto dirigidas al gran público. Se llena con ello un vacío en la literatura que analiza esta region de su pensamiento. El artículo acomete esta tarea en tres momentos: primero se explica la conexión, que se asume que hay entre la teorïa del ser como multiplicidad y la teona lacaniana de la sexuación a fin de senalar la continuidad y limite entre las mismas. Tras ello, situamos el amor en las coordenadas de la teoría del acontecimiento, el sujeto y la verdad. Finalmente, interpretamos la propuesta de Badiou a la luz de algunos elementos que proceden de la teoría del amor de Platon y de lo que llamamos un comunismo de la diferencia o mínimo.

AВSTRAСT The aim of the current reflection article is to offer a reading of the concept of love in Alain Badiou's thought that mediates and harmonizes the abstract and formal background of his metaontology with his well-known interventions on this concept aimed at the general public. This fills a gap in the literature that analyzes this region of his thinking. The article undertakes this task in three moments: First the connection, which is assumed to exist, between the theory of being as multiplicity and the Lacanian theory of sexuation is explained in order to indicate the continuity and limit between them. After that, we place love in the coordinates of the theory of the event, the subject and the truth. Finally we interpret Badiou's proposal in the light of some elements that come from Plato's theory of love and what we call a communism of difference or minimum.

RESUMО O objetivo do artigo de reflexão a seguir é oferecer uma leitura do conceito de amor no pensamento de Alain Badiou que medeia e harmoniza o fundo abstrato e formal de sua metaontologia com suas conhecidas intervenções sobre este conceito dirigidas ao público em geral. Isto preenche uma lacuna na literatura que analisa esta região de seu pensamento. O artigo empreende esta tarefa em três etapas: primeiro, a suposta conexão entre a teoria do eu como multiplicidade e a teoria lacaniana da sexuação é explicada a fim de apontar a continuidade e os limites entre elas. Em seguida, situamos o amor nas coordenadas da teoria do evento, do assunto e da verdade. Finalmente, interpretamos a proposta de Badiou á luz de alguns elementos que provêm da teoria do amor de Platão e do que chamamos um comunismo de diferença ou minimalismo.

On Revelations and Revolutions: Drinking Ayahuasca Among Palestinians Under Israeli Occupation.

The ritualistic use of ayahuasca can induce a feeling of unity and harmony among group members. However, such depoliticized feelings can come in the service of a destructive political status quo in which Palestinians are marginalized. Through 31 in-depth interviews of Israelis and Palestinians who drink ayahuasca together, and through participatory observations, such rituals were examined. In this setting marginalization was structurally rooted by the group's inability to recognize Palestinian national identity or admit the ongoing Israeli injustice toward Palestinians. Although the groups avoided politics, they still find their way into these rituals. This happened through occasional ayahuasca-induced revelatory events, in which individuals were confronted with a pressing truth related to the oppressive relations between Jewish Israelis and Palestinians. Three case studies of such revelatory events are described in this paper. Affected by emotions of pain, anger, and guilt, these participants developed resistance toward the hegemonic Israeli ritual structure. This was followed by an urge to deliver an emancipatory message to the rest of the group, usually through a song. Moreover, affected subjects developed a long-lasting fidelity to the truth attained at these events. In time, this fidelity led to the expansion of ayahuasca practices to other Palestinians and the politicization of the practice. The article draws on Badiou's theory in Being and Event (1988) to analyze the relations between the Israeli ritual structure, the Palestinian revelatory event, and the emancipatory fidelity that followed. Badiou's theory elucidates the egalitarian revolutionary potential, which is part of the sociopsychopharmacology of psychedelics.

O artigo tem como objetivo analisar a utilização que Jaques Lacan faz de um ponto específico da obra de Blaise Pascal, relacionado à aposta em um Deus-infinito. Lacan complementa o estudo da aposta pascaliana com uma referência à graça religiosa como momento inaugural de abertura ao infinito. A partir dessas considerações, sustenta-se a hipótese de que a aposta de Pascal pode ser aproximada à operação necessária para o início de uma análise. A aposta de Pascal coloca em jogo o infinito. Com a ajuda do filósofo Alain Badiou, tentaremos demonstrar que Lacan parte da mesma ideia ao considerar que não há abertura ao inconsciente - correlativa ao início de uma análise - sem alguma dimensão de infinitude

The article aims to analyze the use of a certain point in the work of Blaise Pascal, according to Jacques Lacan's, specifically about the wager on a God-infinite. Lacan complements the study of the Pascal's wager referring to the concept of the religious grace as the inaugural moment of opening to the infinite. From these considerations, the supported hypothesis is that Pascal's wager approaches the course necessary to the beginning of the psychoanalysis treatment. Pascal's wager puts infinite at stake. With the help of the philosopher Alain Badiou, we will try to demonstrate that Lacan shares the same idea when he considers that there is no opening to the unconscious - correlative to the beginning of an analysis - without some dimension of infinity

El artículo tiene como objetivo analizar la utilización que Jaques Lacan hace de un punto específico de la obra de Blaise Pascal, relacionada con apostar en un Dios-infinito. Lacan complementa el estudio de la apuesta de Pascal con una referencia a la gracia religiosa como momento inaugural de apertura al infinito. A partir de estas consideraciones se apoya la hipótesis de que la apuesta de Pascal se aproxima a la operación requerida para iniciar un análisis. La apuesta de Pascal pone en juego el infinito. Con la ayuda del filósofo Alain Badiou, trataremos de demostrar que Lacan parte de la misma idea al considerar que no hay apertura al inconsciente - correlativo al comienzo de un análisis- sin alguna dimensión de infinidad
