RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the distribution of helicobacter pylori-related genotypes of oipA, babA2, and babB in patients with gastrointestinal diseases. Methods: The retrospective study was conducted at the Jiamusi College, Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Harbin, China, and comprised data from February 2017 to May 2020 of patients of either gender 20-80 years who underwent gastroscopy. An instrument based on polymerase chain reaction was used to amplify oipA, babA2 and babB genes, and their distribution in terms of gender, age and pathological types was analysed. RESULTS: Among the 116 patients, 52(44.8%) had oipA genotype, 48(41.2%) babA2, and 72 (62.1%) babB, respectively, and the size of amplified products of 486bp, 219bp and 362bp, respectively. The infection rate of oipA and babB genotypes was highest [26(50.0%) and 31(43.1%)]in those aged 61-80 years, and lowest [9(17.3%) and 15(20.8%)]in those aged 20-40 years. The infection rate of babA2 genotype was highest [23(47.9%)] in those aged 41-60 years, and lowest [12(25.0%)] in those aged 61-80 years. Male patients were under a higher [28(53.9%) and 26(54.2%)] rate of infection with oipA and babA2, and female patients has a higher [40(55.6%)] rate of infection with babB. Among Hp-infected patients with digestive diseases, babB genotype was mainly found in patients with chronic superficial gastritis[17(58.6%)], duodenal ulcer[17(85.0%)], chronic atrophic gastritis[19(59.4%)] and gastric ulcer[16(72.7%)], while oipA genotype was mainly found in patients with gastric cancer[8(61.5%)]. CONCLUSIONS: Chronic superficial gastritis, duodenal ulcer, chronic atrophic gastritis, and gastric ulcer may have a close bearing on babB genotype infection, while oipA genotype infection may be associated with gastric cancer.

RESUMO

BackgroundChronic superficial gastritis (CSG) is a common clinical disease in children. The emotional behavior of CSG children is susceptible due to them suffering from such disease at young age. ObjectiveTo explore the impact of coping strategies on emotional behavior and the effect of family function in children with CSG, and to provide references for clinical intervention in CSG children with emotional behavior problems. MethodsA total of 177 children with CSG admitted to Anhui Children's Hospital from June 2019 to January 2023 were selected as the research subjects. Investigation on family function, emotional and behavioral problems and coping strategies of children was conducted by employing the Family APGAR index (APGAR), the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) and Coping Strategies Questionnaire (CSQ). The structural equation model was used to test the mediating effect of family function between coping strategies and emotional behaviors. ResultsThe APGAR score was negatively correlated with both SDQ score and negative coping strategies score (r=-0.507, -0.551, P<0.01), but was positively correlated with positive coping strategy score (r=0.579, P<0.01). The positive coping strategy score was negatively correlated with SDQ score (r=-0.539, P<0.01), while the negative coping strategy score was positively correlated with SDQ score (r=0.543, P<0.01). The result showed that family function played a partial mediating role between positive coping strategies and emotional behavior [indirect effect was -0.133 (95% CI: -0.256~-0.079, P<0.01), accounting for 29.40% of the total effect]. The same mediating effect happened between negative coping strategies and emotional behavior [indirect effect was 0.093 (95% CI: 0.198~0.045, P<0.01), accounting for 28.50% of the total effect]. ConclusionCoping strategies of CSG children can affect emotional behavior directly and indirectly with family function playing a partial intermediary effect.

RESUMO

Chronic superficial gastritis (CSG) and intestinal metaplasia (IM) can further develop into gastric cancer, which seriously endangers the health of people all over the world. In this study, the differences in gastric microbiota between CSG patients and IM patients were detected by 16S rRNA gene sequencing. As the expression levels of mucin and CDX2 are closely related to IM, the expression differences of mucin (MUC2 and MUC5AC) and CDX2 in the gastric mucosa of CSG patients and IM patients were detected by Western blot and qRT-PCR. The results showed that both Faith_pd and Observed_species indexes of microbiota in the gastric juice of CSG patients were significantly higher than those of IM patients. At the genus level, Thermus and Anoxybacillus were dominant in the gastric juice of IM patients, and Helicobacter was dominant in the gastric juice of CSG patients. Non-metric multidimensional scaling (NMDS) demonstrated that the dispersion of samples in the CSG group is greater than that in the IM group, and some samples in the CSG group are clustered with samples in the IM group. The KEGG metabolic pathway difference analysis of gastric juice microbiota in CSG and IM patients revealed that the gastric juice microbiota in the CSG and IM patients were significantly enriched in the amino acid metabolism, carbohydrate metabolism, and metabolism of cofactors and vitamins, and the functional differences between the two groups were mainly concentrated in the bacterial secretion system (VirB1, VirB2, VirB3, VirD2, and VirD4). In conclusion, there are significant differences in gastric microbiota and mucosal function between the CSG and IM patients. Moreover, the results of this study may provide a new means for the detection of CSG and IM and a new direction for the prevention and treatment of CSG and IM.

RESUMO

Chronic superficial gastritis (CSG) is a common disease of the digestive system that possesses a serious pathogenesis. Jinhong tablet (JHT), a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) prescription, exerts therapeutic effects against CSG. However, the molecular basis of its therapeutic effect has not been clarified. Herein, we employed ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-Q/TOF-MS) based chemical profile identification to determine the chemical components in JHT. Further, we applied network pharmacology to illustrate its molecular mechanisms. A total of 96 chemical constituents were identified in JHT, 31 of which were confirmed using reference standards. Based on the bioinformatics analysis using the symptom-guided pharmacological networks of "chi," "blood," "pain," and "inflammation," and target screening through the interaction probabilities between compounds and targets, matrix metalloproteinase 2 (MMP2), dopamine d2 receptor (DRD2), and Aldo-keto reductase family 1 member B1 (AKR1B1) were identified as key targets in the therapeutic effect exhibited by JHT against CSG. Moreover, according to the inhibitory activities presented in the literature and binding mode analysis, the structural types of alkaloids, flavonoids, organic acids, including chlorogenic acid (10), caffeic acid (13), (-)-corydalmine (33), (-)-isocorypalmine (36), isochlorogenic acid C (38), isochlorogenic acid A (41), quercetin-3-O-α-l-rhamnoside (42), isochlorogenic acid B (47), quercetin (63), and kaempferol (70) tended to show remarkable activities against CSG. Owing to the above findings, we systematically identified the chemical components of JHT and revealed its molecular mechanisms based on the symptoms associated with CSG.

RESUMO

Objective To evaluate the gastric microbiome in patients with chronic superficial gastritis (CSG) and intestinal metaplasia (IM) and investigate the influence of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) on the gastric microbiome. Methods Gastric mucosa tissue samples were collected from 54 patients with CSG and IM, and the patients were classified into the following four groups based on the state of H. pylori infection and histology: H. pylori-negative CSG (n=24), H. pylori-positive CSG (n=14), H. pylori-negative IM (n=11), and H. pylori-positive IM (n=5). The gastric microbiome was analyzed by 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Results H. pylori strongly influenced the bacterial abundance and diversity regardless of CSG and IM. In H. pylori-positive subjects, the bacterial abundance and diversity were significantly lower than in H. pylori-negative subjects. The H. pylori-negative groups had similar bacterial composition and bacterial abundance. The H. pylori-positive groups also had similar bacterial composition but different bacterial relative abundance. The relative abundance of Neisseria, Streptococcus, Rothia, and Veillonella were richer in the I-HP group than in G-HP group, especially Neisseria (t=175.1, P<0.001). Conclusions The gastric microbial abundance and diversity are lower in H. pylori- infected patients regardless of CSG and IM. Compared to H. pylori-positive CSG group and H. pylori-positive IM, the relative abundance of Neisseria, Streptococcus, Rothia, and Veillonella is higher in H. pylori-positive patients with IM than in H. pylori-positive patients with CSG, especially Neisseria.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: Chronic gastritis is observed in almost half world population. Traditional medications against chronic gastritis might produce adverse effects, so alternative nutritional strategies are needed to prevent the aggravation of gastric mucosal damage. The aim of this study is to evaluate the protective effect of the combination of wheat peptides and fucoidan (WPF) on adults diagnosed with chronic superficial gastritis in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial. METHODS: Participants were randomized to receive WPF (N = 53) or placebo (N = 53) once daily for 45 days. Pathological grading of gastric mucosal damage was scored using gastroscopy. Fecal samples were collected for the determination of calprotectin, short chain fatty acids (SCFA) levels and metagenomics analysis. Questionnaires for self-reported gastrointestinal discomforts, life quality and food frequency were collected throughout the study. RESULTS: WPF intervention reduced gastric mucosal damage in 70% subjects (P < 0.001). Significantly less stomach pain (P < 0.001), belching (P = 0.028), bloating (P < 0.001), acid reflux (P < 0.001), loss of appetite (P = 0.021), increased food intake (P = 0.020), and promoted life quality (P = 0.014) were reported in the WPF group. WPF intervention significantly decreased fecal calprotectin level (P = 0.003) while slightly increased fecal SCFAs level (P = 0.092). In addition, we found altered microbiota composition post-intervention with increased Bifidobacterium pseudocatenulatum (P = 0.032), Eubacterium siraeum (P = 0.036), Bacteroides intestinalis (P = 0.024) and decreased Prevotella copri (P = 0.055). CONCLUSIONS: WPF intervention could be utilized as a nutritional alternative to mitigate the progression of chronic gastritis. Furthermore, WPF played an important role in altering gut microbial profile and SCFA production, which might benefit the lower gastrointestinal tract.

RESUMO

Objective To discuss of the therapeutic effects of treating three TCM types of Chronic superficial gastritis (CSG)disharmony of liver and stomach, weakness of the spleen and the stomach, and damp heat in the spleen and the stomach with chinese medicine, and to discuss its impact on the changes of three gastrointestinal hormones-- motilin (MTL), gastrin (GAS), and somatostatin (SS). Methods The data of 150 CSG patients in Shenzhen Bao’an Hospital from Feb, 2011 to Mar, 2013 were selected. These patients belonged to three kinds of syndrome, which was disharmony of liver and stomach, weakness of the spleen and the stomach, and damp heat in the spleen and the stomach, each syndrome had 50 cases. Different Chinese medicines were applied to different syndrome of patients. After one month treatment, the therapeutic effects and the changes of MTL, GAS, SS in these patients were detected by radioimmunoassay. Results After treatment, the total effective rate of the damp heat in the spleen and the stomach syndrome was 94%, the weakness of the spleen and the stomach type was 88%, disharmony of liver and stomach type was 90%, the difference was not statistically significant among the three types(χ2=3.84, P>0.05);after treatment, the serum MTL, SS level of disharmony of liver and stomach, weakness of the spleen and the stomach, and damp heat in the spleen and the stomach type were [damp heat in the spleen and the stomach type were (240.25±7.29)pg/ml, (68.23± 5.97)pg/ml;the weakness of the spleen and the stomach type were (260.16±8.84)pg/ml, (75.35±4.65)pg/ml;disharmony of liver and stomach type were(258.32±15.23)pg/ml, (80.12±7.88)pg/ml] higher than before treatment [damp heat in the spleen and the stomach type were (87.26±7.58)pg/ml, (49.34±4.93)pg/ml;the weakness of the spleen and the stomach type were (67.11±7.81)pg/ml, (57.15±5.11)pg/ml; disharmony of liver and stomach type were (89.26±7.60)pg/ml, (40.63±7.26)pg/ml], and the levels of serum GAS [(156.38±17.36)pg/ml, (146.15±15.56)pg/ml, (140.26±13.37)pg/ml] was lower than before treatment [(274.59 ± 17.82)pg/ml, (320.83 ± 15.02)pg/ml, (216.15 ± 13.77)pg/ml], the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05 or 0.01). Conclusions The changes of three hormones-MTL, GAS, SS can be used as an objective basis for the diagnosis and the judgment of healing efficacy of CSG treated by traditional Chinese medicine.

RESUMO

[Objective] To evaluate the clinical curative effect of a combined protocol using Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture for chronic gastritis.[Methods] 23 patients used the Chinese medicine only(group 1)and 65 patients received the combined protocol(2).Clinical symptoms and gastroscopic findings before and after treatment were recorded and analyzed.[Results] The clinical symptoms improved greatly in 15 of the group 1,with an overall curative rate 65%,and in 62 of the group 2 with an overall curative rate 95%.The difference between the 2 groups was significant.[Conclusion] The combined use of Chinese medicine and the needle medicine is preferable to single use of Chinese medicine for chronic gastritis.

RESUMO

【Objective】 To establish the quantified standard of spleen-stomach damp-heat syndrome(SSDHS) in chronic superficial gastritis(CSG).【Methods】Based on the epidemiological survey, the factors related to SSDHS and non-SSDHS were quantified and scored, and then the quantified standard was set up and used for the degree grading of SSDHS.【Results】The diagnostic threshold value of SSDHS in chronic superficial gastritis was 49 points. The results of retrospective examination showed that the sensitivity, specificity, accuracy and likelihood ratio of qualified SSDHS standard are 90.91%,90.57%,90.72% and 9.64 respectively. The graded criteria of SSDHS were as follows:49~57 points for the mild syndrome,58~65 points for the moderate syndrome, and over 65 points for the severe syndrome.【Conclusion】It is indicated that the qualified SSDHS standard in chronic superficial gastritis is practical for its preciseness and rationality, and is worth of further study.

RESUMO

Objective To study the bile reflux in patients with different kind of chronic gastritis. Methods The changes of intragastric bile reflux during 24 h were assessed by using ambulatory bilirubin monitoring techniques in 45 patients(including 17 patients with chronic superficial gastritis, 21 with chronic erosive gastritis and 7 with chronic atrophic gastritis). Results The total time of intragastric bile reflux(%) was significantly greater in patients with chronic atrophic gastritis(16.2?18.0) and chronic erosive gastritis(14.2?12.1) than that in patients with chronic superficial gastritis(5.3?14.1, P
