RESUMO
Mycomystes nigriventris sp. nov. (Erotylidae: Tritomini) is described from South and Southeast Brazil. Mycomystes was described by Gorham to include a single species, Mycomystes ferrugineus Gorham, from Mexico. Since Gorham's description, no other species was included in Mycomystes and its morphological limits to Mycotretus remain unclear. The new species described here is placed in Mycomystes due its oval body, conspicuously dilated tibiae, mentum plate subpentagonal, with a rounded outline, and terminal maxillary palpomeres more greatly widened than the terminal labial palpomeres. Mycomystes nigriventris sp. nov. differs from M. ferrugineus in the black ventral coloration, elytral punctation with rows of punctures uniform longitudinally and not confluent, outer side of protibia lacking conspicuous angle, and distributed in Southeast and South Brazil, with M. ferrugineus restricted to the northern and M. nigriventris sp. nov. to the southern Neotropics. Similarities in body shape, morphology of mouthparts, and male and female terminalia between M. nigriventris sp. nov. and four species of Mycotretus, which may belong in Mycomystes, are discussed. The detailed description provided here, including potential characters for a phylogenetic approach, will help in subsequent studies on Mycomystes and Mycotretus.

Bacis nigropictus Crotch, 1876 and Phricobacis flavomaculatus Mader, 1943 are redescribed. Redescriptions are provided with illustrations of diagnostic characters. Based upon the study of type material, Zonarius limbatus Kuhnt, 1910 is considered a new synonym of B. nigropictus. A lectotype is designated for Zonarius limbatus Kuhnt, 1910. Based on character analyses, Phricobacis flavomaculatus is here transferred to the genus Oligocorynus Dejean, 1836, becoming Oligocorynus flavomaculatus (Mader), new combination. Bacis nigropictus is newly listed for Colombia and O. flavomaculatus is considered new country record from Colombia.

A new genus of Languriinae, Tomolanguria Huang, gen. nov. is erected for a single species, Languria aculeata Gorham, 1887 from Mexico. It is similar to the Neotropical genus Languria Latreille, 1802. The differential diagnosis of this new genus is based on the structural features of the elytral apices and slight impressions present on each elytron. Languria aculeata is designated as the type species of the new genus. This species is redescribed and illustrated (all the three specimens examined are shown in the dorsal, ventral, and lateral views). Finally, a mimic relationship between this new genus and genus Paederus Fabricius, 1775 (Staphylinidae) is discussed.
RESUMO
The Australian species Austroporus doctus (Blackburn) is reported from New Zealand for the first time. Adults are illustrated and diagnosed, and late-instar larvae are fully described and illustrated. In addition, a summary of prior larval descriptions of Phalacridae is provided. This represents the first description of the morphology and habitat of the larvae within the genus Austroporus Gimmel and the Olibroporus-group of genera. Austroporus doctus is native to eastern Australia, where adults are distinguished from similar species by characters of the male genitalia and by a suite of external morphological features. There are no native members of Phalacridae known from New Zealand, but A. doctus represents the second introduced and established species there. A key is given to differentiate adult and larval A. doctus from the other introduced New Zealand species, Phalacrus uniformis (Blackburn).(AU)

RESUMO
Pharaxonotha cerradensis, new species (Coleoptera: Erotylidae), is described from Bolivia and Brazil. It belongs in a complex of species from Mexico and Central America that radiated on host cycads of the genus Zamia L. (Cycadales: Zamiaceae) and is associated with Zamia boliviana (Brongniart) A. DC. (Cycadales: Zamiaceae). Pharaxonotha cerradensis is compared with other species of Pharaxonotha Reitter.

Notaepytus quisqueya sp. nov. (Erotylidae: Erotylinae: Tritomini), is described here from Dominican amber and is the second amber fossil description for the family from the West Indies (Hispaniola). An emended key and a checklist to all known species of Notaepytus are presented.

Xalpirta mauryi sp. nov. (Erotylidae: Tritomini) is described from Parque Nacional do Itatiaia (in the state of Rio de Janeiro) and Campos do Jordão (in the state of São Paulo), Southeast Brazil. Xalpirta mauryi differs from other described Xalpirta in the uniformly green dorsal coloration, with a metallic sheen, and pronotum without spots or black marks. The pore on the posterior 1/3 of each pronotal edge (present in the other Xalpirta) is apparently absent in X. mauryi. We provide a detailed description of adults, including morphology of mouthparts, and male and female terminalia. Additionally, we discuss the morphological affinities of X. mauryi with other species in the genus and with species of other closely related genera within Tritomini, and provide a new geographical record for X. maderi in Southeast Brazil.
