Purpose: To investigate the risk factors for patients with focal choroidal excavation (FCE) and their correlation with chorioretinal diseases. Design: Retrospective cross-sectional study. Subjects: Patients with FCE were enrolled, while healthy subjects were recruited for the control group. Methods: The study collected demographic information, clinical features, and multimodal images. Parameters of FCE identified using spectral-domain OCT (SD-OCT) were manually measured using built-in software and subsequently analyzed statistically. Main Outcome Measures: Subfoveal choroidal thickness (SFCT), subexcavation choroidal thickness (SECT), and the greatest depth and width of each excavation were manually measured using built-in calipers in OCT software. Results: Twenty-one patients (13/8, male/female) with FCE were included in this study. The average age was 45.2 years, and their best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) was 0.4 logarithm of the minimum angle of resolution (Snellen equivalent, 20/50). Focal choroidal excavation was present in 28 eyes of 21 patients, including isolated FCE (12 eyes) and complicated FCE (16 eyes) with choroidal neovascularization (sCNV), central serous chorioretinopathy, and other conditions. Patients with complicated FCE were significantly older than those isolated FCE (P = 0.015). The SFCT of the healthy subjects was significantly less than that of the fellow eyes of the patients with FCE (P < 0.01), as was that of the eyes with isolated FCE (P < 0.001) and complicated FCE (P < 0.001). The width of excavation was wider in eyes with complicated FCE than in those with isolated FCE (P = 0.001). Hypertransmission defect (HD) was found beneath 15 excavations and was more prevalent in the complicated FCE group than the isolated FCE group (P = 0.023). Conclusions: Focal choroidal excavation appears to be closely related to chorioretinal disorders, and the width of the excavation is a significant indicator for evaluating the risk of chorioretinal diseases. Background: Allergic Asthma is a disease presenting various endotypes and no current therapies act curative but alleviate disease symptoms. Dietary interventions are gaining increasing importance in regulating immune responses. Furthermore, short chain fatty acids (SFCA), as the main products of dietary fiber's fermentation by the gut bacteria, ameliorate the pathogenesis and disease burden of different illnesses including asthma. Nevertheless, the connection and crosstalk between the gut and lung is poorly understood. Objective: In this work, the role of high fiber diet on the development of allergic asthma at baseline and after exacerbation of disease induced by respiratory viruses was investigated. Methods: Hereby, SCFA in serum of asthmatic and non-asthmatic pre-school children before and after airway disease symptoms were analyzed. Moreover, the effect of high fiber diet in vivo in a murine model of house dust mite extract (HDM) induced allergic asthma and in the end in isolated lung and spleen cells infected ex vivo with Rhinovirus was analyzed. Results: In this study, a decrease of the SCFA 3-Hydroxybutyric acid in serum of asthmatic children after symptomatic episodes at convalescent visit as compared to asthmatic and control children at baseline visit was observed. In experimental asthma, in mice fed with high fiber diet, a reduced lung GATA3 + Th2 type mediated inflammation, mucus production and collagen deposition and expression of Fc epsilon receptor Ia (FcεRIa) in eosinophils was observed. By contrast, the CD8+ memory effector T cells were induced in the lungs of asthmatic mice fed with high fiber diet. Then, total lung cells from these asthmatic mice fed with either standard food or with fiber rich food were infected with RV ex vivo. Here, RV1b mRNA was found significantly reduced in the lung cells derived from fiber rich food fed mice as compared to those derived from standard food fed asthmatic mice. Looking for the mechanism, an increase in CD8+ T cells in RV infected spleen cells derived from fiber rich fed asthmatic mice, was observed. Conclusion: Convalescent preschool asthmatic children after a symptomatic episode have less serum ß-Hydroxybutyric acid as compared to control and asthmatic children at baseline visit. Fiber rich diet associated with anti-inflammatory effects as well as anti-allergic effects by decreasing Type 2 and IgE mediated immune responses and inducing CD8+ memory effector T cells in a murine model of allergic asthma. Finally, ex vivo infection with Rhinovirus (RV) of total lung cells from asthmatic mice fed with fiber rich food led to a decreased RV load as compared to mice fed with standard food. Moreover, spleen cells derived from asthmatic mice fed with fiber rich food induced CD8+ T cells after ex vivo infection with RV. Clinical implications: Dietary interventions with increased content in natural fibers like pectins would ameliorate asthma exacerbations. Moreover, respiratory infection in asthma downregulated SCFA in the gut contributing to asthma exacerbations.

Acute thoracolumbar myelopathy is a common neurological presentation in dogs. Although certain spinal conditions present with characteristic clinical pictures, managing such cases with clinical reasoning alone (i.e., without cross-sectional imaging) has never been explored. The aim of this study was to define the outcome of patients with suspected intervertebral disc extrusion (IVDE), ischaemic myelopathy (IM) or acute non-compressive nucleus pulposus extrusion (ANNPE) that were managed with clinical reasoning alone. The database of the Queen's Veterinary School Hospital (Cambridge) was searched for paraparetic or paraplegic dogs with suspected IVDE or IM/ANNPE that were initially managed medically without undergoing imaging. Clinical presentation and outcome were recorded. If cross-sectional imaging was subsequently performed, information about the final diagnosis was collected and compared with the initially suspected diagnosis. A total of 123 IVDE cases were collected: 81% had a successful outcome with no imaging performed; 16% had IVDE confirmed with imaging and successful outcome with surgery or medical management; and just 3% were found to have an alternative diagnosis or were euthanised without imaging. A total of 16 IM/ANNPE cases were collected: 94% had a successful outcome, and one dog was euthanised. Successful outcomes can be obtained by using clinical reasoning alone in most dogs with suspected IVDE or IM/ANNPE.

BACKGROUND: Mast cells have been implicated in the pathology of various urinary bladder disorders. However, the distribution of mast cells throughout urinary bladder tissue remains uncertain despite mast cell prevalence being relatively well-defined. Using a mouse tissue model, this study aims to characterise the prevalence and distribution of mast cells throughout the urinary bladder. METHODS: Bladder tissues were collected from six C57BL/6J female mice. Mast cell prevalence was quantified by flow cytometry, based on the expression of the following characteristic markers: CD45, CD117 and FcɛRIα. The toluidine blue stain assessed mast cell distribution, size, and proximity to vasculature. A repeated measures one-way ANOVA was used to evaluate the density of mast cells between the discrete layers of the urinary bladder, and an ordinary one-way ANOVA was used to assess potential differences between mast cell size across the urinary bladder wall. RESULTS: It was determined that mast cells compose less than 4% of all live leukocytes in the urinary bladder. They were also found to be more prominent in the lamina propria and detrusor muscle layers, compared to the urothelium and adventitia. In addition, 20.89% of mast cells were located near vasculature, which may be an important factor in consideration of their function and potential to contribute to various bladder pathologies, such as cystitis or overactive bladder. CONCLUSION: These findings provide a baseline understanding of mast cell prevalence and distribution throughout the urinary bladder.

BACKGROUND: Fibrocartilaginous embolic myelopathy (FCE) is a well-documented condition in dogs although rarely reported in chondrodystrophic breeds. Genetic associations have not been defined. OBJECTIVES: Define the association of the chondrodystrophy-associated FGF4L2 retrogene with histopathologically confirmed cases of FCE. ANIMALS: Ninety-eight dogs with a histopathologic diagnosis of FCE. METHODS: Retrospective multicenter study. Dogs were genotyped for the FGF4L2 and FGF4L1 retrogenes using DNA extracted from formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue. Associations between breed, FCE and retrogene status were investigated with reference to a hospital population and known breed and general population allele frequencies. RESULTS: FGF4L2 genotype was defined in 89 FCE cases. Fibrocartilaginous embolic myelopathy was present in 22 dogs from FGF4L2-segregating breeds with allele frequencies of ≥5%; however, all dogs were wild type. Two Labrador retrievers with FCE carried FGF4L2 alleles. Frequency of the FGF4L2 allele was significantly (P < .001) and negatively associated with FCE relative to predicted hospital-population dogs. FCE was overrepresented in Boxer, Great Dane, Yorkshire Terrier, Bernese Mountain Dog, Miniature Schnauzer, Rottweiler, and Shetland Sheepdog breeds. CONCLUSIONS AND CLINICAL IMPORTANCE: Study data based on genotypically and histopathologically defined cases support the historical observation that FCE is uncommon in chondrodystrophic dog breeds. FGF4 plays an important role in angiogenesis and vascular integrity; anatomical studies comparing chondrodystrophic and non-chondrodystrophic dogs might provide insight into the pathogenesis of FCE.

Abstract The study was conducted to evaluate the effect of Moringa olifera on the growth and gut health of Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). The feed having 30% crude protein was prepared as an experimental diet with 4%, 8% and 10% M. olifera leaf supplementation, respectively. The control diet was devoid of M. olifera leaves. The 10 weeks feeding trial was carried out on 60 fish in aquaria. Fish was fed @ 3% of body weight twice a day. Diet with the high level of inclusion of M. olifera leaves significantly increased the growth rate, Survival Rate (SR), Specific Growth Rate (SGR) and Feed Conversion Efficiency (FCE) in all treatment groups compared to the control group. Similarly, Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) gradually decreased and found highly-significant. To check the gut health of the Tilapia, random samples were selected and dissected. Nutrient agar was used as culture media to check the growth of bacteria. Pour Plate Method was used for viable colonies count by colony counter. Through staining method, the different bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Shigella and Pseudomonas aeruginosa were identify abundantly in the intestine of control diet fish but less number present in treatment diets groups. These results showed that M. olifera leaves up to 10% of dietary protein can be used for Nile tilapia for significant growth and healthy gut microbiota of fish.


Resumo O estudo foi conduzido para avaliar o efeito da Moringa olifera no crescimento e saúde intestinal da tilápia (Oreochromis niloticus). A ração com 30% de proteína bruta foi preparada como dieta experimental com 4%, 8% e 10% de suplementação de folhas de M. olifera, respectivamente. A dieta controle foi desprovida de folhas de M. olifera. O ensaio de alimentação de 10 semanas foi realizado em 60 peixes em aquários. O peixe pesava 3% do peso corporal duas vezes ao dia. A dieta com alto nível de inclusão de folhas de M. olifera aumentou significativamente a taxa de crescimento, taxa de sobrevivência (SR), taxa de crescimento de sobrevivência (SGR) e eficiência de conversão alimentar (FCE) em todos os grupos de tratamento em comparação com o grupo de controle. Da mesma forma, a taxa de conversão de alimentação (FCR) diminuiu gradualmente e foi considerada altamente significativa. Para verificar a saúde intestinal da tilápia, amostras aleatórias foram selecionadas e dissecadas. O ágar nutriente foi usado como meio de cultura para verificar o crescimento das bactérias. O método da placa de Verter foi usado para a contagem de colônias viáveis por contador de colônias. Através do método de coloração, diferentes como Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Shigella e Pseudomonas aeruginosa foram identificados abundantemente no intestino de peixes da dieta controle, mas em menor número nos grupos de dieta de tratamento. Esses resultados mostraram que M. olifera deixa até 10% da proteína dietética e pode ser usado para tilápia do Nilo para um crescimento significativo e microbiota intestinal saudável de peixes.

BACKGROUND: Focal choroidal excavation (FCE) is one of the pachychoroid spectrum diseases. It may be an isolated lesion or associated with other ophthalmological disorders. The aim of the study was to present the epidemiology, clinical features and multimodal imaging findings in FCE. METHODS: This is a case series of 14 consecutive patients with a diagnosis of FCE, confirmed by multimodal imaging, from a review of the 5076 optical coherence tomography (OCT) scans in 2538 patients. Choroidal thickness (CT) was measured under the fovea and in the area of maximum choroidal thickening in the affected eye and under the fovea in the fellow eye. RESULTS: The mean age of the subjects was 40 ± 13.58 years. FCE occurred unilaterally and was an isolated lesion in all cases. The fellow eye did not show any macular pathology in all patients. Twelve eyes presented conforming FCEs and two non-conforming FCEs. In 79% of cases, FCE was subfoveal. The mean maximum CT was 390 µm in the affected eye with the presence of pachyvessels. A total of 13 patients were asymptomatic, while one patient reported a visual disturbance due to neovascularization secondary to FCE. Of all the multimodal imaging techniques, optical coherence tomography (OCT) provided the most important data in the diagnosis of FCE. CONCLUSIONS: Our study confirmed that FCE is a rare ocular condition, but it may be more common in Caucasian population than previously known. Multimodal imaging methods, mainly OCT, are crucial in FCE diagnostics. Further studies are needed to expand the available knowledge about its etiology and clinical course.

In the Netherlands, newborns are referred by the newborn screening (NBS) Program when a low free carnitine (C0) concentration (<5 µmol/l) is detected in their NBS dried blood spot. This leads to ~85% false positive referrals who all need an invasive, expensive and lengthy evaluation. We investigated whether a ratio of urine C0 / plasma C0 (RatioU:P) can improve the follow-up protocol for primary carnitine deficiency (PCD). A retrospective study was performed in all Dutch metabolic centres, using samples from newborns and mothers referred by NBS due to low C0 concentration. Samples were included when C0 excretion and plasma C0 concentration were sampled on the same day. RatioU:P was calculated as (urine C0 [µmol/mmol creatinine])/(plasma C0 [µmol/l]). Data were available for 59 patients with genetically confirmed PCD and 68 individuals without PCD. The RatioU:P in PCD patients was significantly higher (p value < 0.001) than in those without PCD, median [IQR], respectively: 3.4 [1.2-9.5], 0.4 [0.3-0.8], area under the curve (AUC) 0.837. Classified for age (up to 1 month) and without carnitine suppletion (PCD; N = 12, Non-PCD; N = 40), medians were 6.20 [4.4-8.8] and 0.37 [0.24-0.56], respectively. The AUC for RatioU:P was 0.996 with a cut-off required for 100% sensitivity at 1.7 (yielding one false positive case). RatioU:P accurately discriminates between positive and false positive newborn referrals for PCD by NBS. RatioU:P is less effective as a discriminative tool for PCD in adults and for individuals that receive carnitine suppletion.

Guominkang (GMK), a Chinese medicine formula, has been used to treat allergic diseases in clinical settings for many years. To evaluate the antiallergic effect and molecular mechanism of action of GMK extract, RBL-2H3 cell models and passive cutaneous anaphylaxis (PCA) mouse models were established. High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS) analyses were performed to characterize the chemical composition of GMK. A total of 94 compounds were identified or tentatively identified from GMK. Three of them, emodin, ursolic acid, and hamaudol, were identified for the first time as potential active compounds in GMK, since they inhibited the degranulation of mast cells. The anti-allergic effect of hamaudol was the first to be discovered. GMK could markedly mitigate the shade of Evans Blue extravasation and ear incrassation in PCA mouse models. Additionally, GMK significantly inhibited the degranulation of mast cells, suppressed mast cell degranulation by reducing Ca2+ influx and the levels of TNF-α, IL-4, and histamine, and markedly inhibited the phosphorylation of Lyn, Syk, PLCγ1, IκBα, and NF-κB p65. Molecular docking results indicated that hamaudol and emodin had strong interaction with FcɛRI and NF-κB related proteins, while ursolic acid only interacted with NF-κB associated proteins. These results suggest GMK suppresses the activation of MCs both in vivo and in vitro. The underlying mechanism of its anti-allergic activity is associated with the inhibition of FcɛRI and NF-κB activation.

Purpose: To report long-term evolution of unilateral focal choroidal excavation in a patient with ABCA4-related retinopathy. Observations: A 51-year-old female with ABCA4-related retinopathy developed a small juxtafoveal defect in Bruch's membrane in a region of macular atrophy in her left eye. In follow-up, the defect widened and subsequently developed into a focal choroidal excavation. Over the next 8 years, serial optical coherence tomography imaging illustrated the conversion of the focal choroidal excavation from conforming subtype into non-conforming subtype with eventual macular hole formation. Conclusions and importance: The long-term follow-up of a patient with serial imaging highlights the potential dynamic nature of focal choroidal excavation in ABCA4-related retinopathy. Progressive retinal degeneration may influence focal choroidal excavation morphology and may promote macular hole formation.

Entrepreneurship education has become an important component of higher education development. The purpose of this study is to evaluate entrepreneurship education and determine the extent of satisfaction with the education program. Firstly, based on the CIPP model, this article theoretically analyzes the factors affecting the quality of entrepreneurship education in colleges and universities, and clarifies the keys to improve that education quality. On this basis, using analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation (FCE) method, the evaluation index system and fuzzy evaluation model of entrepreneurial education are established. The results show that student participation is the most important factor affecting the quality of entrepreneurship education. Empirical analysis indicates that students have the highest satisfaction with teachers and the lowest satisfaction with the entrepreneurial environment. Apart from convenient and effective measurement of entrepreneurship education, the proposed model provides an important reference for improving the quality of entrepreneurship education in colleges and universities.

Purpose: To describe an extrafoveal presentation of focal choroidal excavation and corresponding imaging findings. Methods: Retrospective case report. Patients: Single patient with diagnosis of extrafoveal focal choroidal excavation. Results: A 28-year-old man was referred for evaluation of a suspicious lesion in his right posterior fundus. Functional examination demonstrated best-corrected visual acuity of 20/40 in the right eye and 20/20 in the left eye. Ophthalmoscopy exam and fundus photography revealed a yellowish lesion superior to the fovea of the right eye. The lesion was hyperfluorescent on fundus autofluorescence imaging and late phase fluorescein angiography demonstrated staining of the lesion without leakage. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) of the lesion was consistent with focal choroidal excavation. Five months after presentation, the patient's vision, exam, and imaging remained stable. Discussion: Focal choroidal excavation is a recently recognized clinical entity that is often incidentally found, and presents asymptomatic or with mildly decreased visual acuity in the affected eye. It has characteristic findings on optical coherence tomography (OCT) that can be used to distinguish it from other retinal lesions that may appear similar on ophthalmoscopy. We present the case of an uncommon extrafoveal presentation of FCE at a relatively young age, which may represent either a congenital abnormality or the sequelae of an unidentified chronic process. While most FCE remain stable, patients are often followed for lesion progression and the possibility of choroidal vascular pathology which might necessitate intervention.

Humidity control is a crucial element for a wide variety of experiments. Yet, often naive methods are used that do not yield stable regulation of the humidity, are slow, or are inflexible. PID-based electropneumatic humidistats solve these problems, but commercial devices are not widespread, typically proprietary and/or prohibitively expensive. Here we describe OpenHumidistat: a free and open-source humidistat for laboratory-scale humidity control that is affordable (€500) and easy to build. The design is based around mixing a humid and dry air flow in varying proportions, using proportional solenoid valves and flow sensors to control flow rates. The mixed flow is led into a measurement chamber, which contains a humidity sensor to provide feedback to the controller, to achieve closed-loop humidity control.

Disaster-preventive migration (DPM) is an important method for disaster risk management, but migration itself entails a potential social stability risk. This study took County D in Yunnan Province, one of the counties most severely threatened by geological disasters in China, as an example to construct an indicator system of social stability risk factors for disaster-preventive migration based on a literature survey and in-depth interviews. The system consists of 5 first-level risk factors and 14 s-level risk factors. The social stability risk of DPM in County D was assessed using a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method based on experts' weights. The results showed that the overall social stability risk level of disaster-preventive migration in County D is 'high'. In terms of importance, the five first-level risk factors were ranked as follows: public opinion risk > compensation risk > livelihood recovery risk > cultural risk > geological disaster risk. Among the risk factors, the level of public opinion risk and compensation risk appeared to be high, whereas that of livelihood recovery risk, cultural risk and geological disaster risk resulted to be medium. To our knowledge, this paper is the first research to evaluate the social stability risk of DPM; it not only enriches the theories of social stability risk assessment, but also has important guiding significance for people relocation and resettlement in Chinese ethnic minority areas.

BACKGROUND: An extensive body of research suggests that brain inflammation and oxidative stress are the underlying causes of Parkinson's disease (PD), for which no potent therapeutic approach exists to mitigate the degradation of dopamine neurons. Freshwater clams, an ancient health food of Chinese origin, have been documented to exhibit anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. We previously reported that freshwater clam extract (FCE) can attenuate astrocytic activation and subsequent proinflammatory cytokine production from substantia nigra in an MPTP-induced PD mouse model. This article provides insight into the potential mechanisms through which FCE regulates neuroinflammation in a glia model of injury. MATERIALS AND METHODS: In total, 1 µg/mL lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and 200 µM rotenone were conducted in primary glial cell cultures to mimic the respective neuroinflammation and oxidative stress during injury-induced glial cell reactivation, which is relevant to the pathological process of PD. RESULTS: FCE markedly reduced LPS-induced neuroinflammation by suppressing NO and TNF-α production and the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines. In addition, FCE was effective at reducing rotenone-induced toxicity by diminishing ROS production, promoting antioxidant enzymes (SOD, catalase, and GPx) and minimizing the decline in glial-cell-secreted neurotrophic factors (GDNF, BDNF). These impacts ultimately led to a decrease in glial apoptosis. CONCLUSIONS: Evidence reveals that FCE is capable of stabilizing reactive glia, as demonstrated by reduced neuroinflammation, oxidative stress, the increased release of neurotrophic factors and the inhibition of apoptosis, which provides therapeutic insight into neurodegenerative diseases, including PD.

Sustainable and safe development is a key issue in petrochemical industry. However, many catastrophic accidents and irreversible environmental pollution have occurred in the petrochemical industry, most of which are caused by human behavior factor. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate and improve the sustainable safety performance of a petrochemical plant from the perspective of human behavior factors. Therefore, this study proposes an extended behavior-based safety (BBS) approach that combines the application of fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation (FCE) to assess sustainable safety performance of a petrochemical plant. The results show the importance of human behavior factors, and we should pay attention to the practical application of petrochemical industry. Finally, BBS management can reduce occupational injuries and accidents, which will enhance the sustainable safety development of the petrochemical industry.

PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to identify patient-related characteristics that affect the predictive validity of the FCE assessment ELA. METHODS: A prospective multicenter study was conducted on 303 patients with musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) recruited from eleven rehabilitation centers. The ELA-based estimation of the participants' ability to cope with physical work demands was considered valid if RTW was paired with a positive ELA outcome (≥ moderate) as well as if non-RTW was accompanied by a negative ELA outcome (rather or very poor). In the remaining cases, the ELA result was judged as non-valid. To reduce the risk of false conclusions, the rating was performed inversely in participants that (1) reported severe limitations regarding their productivity at work, (2) attributed RTW to a change in job resp. a reduction of their physical work demands and in those that (3) attributed non-RTW to non-physical reintegration barriers only. Using questionnaires, 28 patient-related characteristics were collected. Logistic regression models were calculated to identify characteristics that affected the predictive validity of ELA. RESULTS: ELA was considered valid in 208 of 303 (69%) participants. A moderate and strong pain-related disability at work were associated with a 0.15-fold (95% confidence interval (95% CI) 0.05-0.46), respectively, 0.19-fold (95% CI 0.05-0.72) chance for a valid outcome. In addition, a negative influence was found in participants that reported psychosocial distress (odds ratio (OR) 0.35; 95% CI 0.15-0.82), a native language different from the national language (OR 0.16; 95% CI 0.05-0.56) as well as in those that expected to return to work, but not within one month (OR 0.17; 95% CI 0.06-0.46). Further variables-including age, employment status, fear-avoidance beliefs and the level of physical work demands-did not affect the predictive validity of ELA. CONCLUSIONS: The results suggest that the predictive validity of ELA is primarily limited by patients that report a moderate or strong pain-related disability at work, psychosocial distress as well as the expectation to return to work, but not within one month. Furthermore, a negative influence can be assumed for language barriers.

China experienced rapid urbanization and socioeconomic development at an unusual rate during the past four decades. Against such background, land use evolution and land ecological security have both been affected in a volatile way. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the land use and the land ecological security in China. However, the traditional assessment approaches have paid more attention to the environmental and economic factors than the sustainable development of ecology, which cannot comprehensively assess the land ecological security. From the perspective of ecological sustainable development, this study identifies 3 main factors and 17 sub-factors. We also construct a model to integrate the FCE approach with the AHP. The results show that from 2004 to 2017, China's land use structure was unbalanced. The construction land, mining land, and cultivated land increased rapidly, leading to the shrinkage of ecological land. Moreover, the weight of the sustainable development of resources and the environment, economic sustainable development, social sustainable development are 0.3341, 0.3780, and 0.2879, respectively, demonstrating that economic sustainable development is the most important factor affecting land ecological security. Finally, although the value of comprehensive land ecological security in China has been on the rise from 2004 to 2017, it remains at an unsecured level. Moreover, the value of the sustainable development of resources and the environment has been declining since 2011 and is lower than the values of economic sustainable development and social sustainable development. This study demonstrates that more attention should be paid to enhancing land ecological security, especially promoting the sustainable development of resources and the environment.
