RESUMO

Sampling China's Shenyin & Wanguo Sectoral Indices for 28 industries and 3272 listed firms included in those indices, and using industry- and firm-level daily data up to December 31, 2020, this paper empirically examined the short- and long-run impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on stock return volatility. The results of the event study and univariate graphic analysis suggested that the market volatilities of the 28 industries were affected by COVID-19 events at various levels and that the events increased the volatility continuously for up to 6 days. The results of the panel data regression models revealed that the COVID-19-related daily new confirmed cases, daily new deaths, and cumulative cured cases were associated with higher volatility for all industries, although the impact levels were small; the daily deaths impacted volatility more than confirmed and cured cases. Finally, positive and significant effects of firm-specific variables such as total assets, turnover ratio and trading volume were recorded, indicating that fundamental aspects of the company and investors' behaviour also made great sense.

RESUMO

Glioma resection within language-eloquent regions poses a high risk of surgery-related aphasia (SRA). Preoperative functional mapping by navigated transcranial magnetic stimulation (nTMS) combined with diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is increasingly used to localize cortical and subcortical language-eloquent areas. This study enrolled 60 nonaphasic patients with left hemispheric perisylvian gliomas to investigate the prediction of SRA based on function-specific connectome network properties under different fractional anisotropy (FA) thresholds. Moreover, we applied a machine learning model for training and cross-validation to predict SRA based on preoperative connectome parameters. Preoperative connectome analysis helps predict SRA development with an accuracy of 73.3% and sensitivity of 78.3%. The current study provides a new perspective of combining nTMS and function-specific connectome analysis applied in a machine learning model to investigate language in neurooncological patients and promises to advance our understanding of the intricate networks.

RESUMO

This study aimed to identify drought-tolerant genotypes and to evaluate and compare the response of genotypes under normal conditions and humidity stress. The experiment was conducted in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) on 12 commercial single cross hybrids of maize (Zea mays L.) with three replications in two separate experiments under normal and stress conditions. GT biplot was used to compare genotypes under normal conditions and humidity stress. Based on the polygon diagrams' graphical analysis, KSC206, KSC704, KSC705 and KSC706 genotypes were identified as desirable hybrids. The ranking diagram of genotypes based on ideal genotype also showed that the KSC704 genotype had high desirability in all evaluated traits in normal and stress conditions. TOL, MP, HARM, GMP, SSI and STI indices were used to identify drought-tolerant genotypes, and the genotypes were ranked based on this index. Based on this, KSC260, SC302 and KSC400 hybrids were selected as resistant hybrids. Based on the correlation analysis between drought-tolerance indices, a positive correlation was observed between MP, GMP, HARM and STI indices. Based on the analysis of the PCA on the indices, the first and second principal components were given the titles of grain yield tolerance component under humidity stress conditions and grain yield stability component under normal humidity conditions, respectively. KSC704 was superior to other hybrids in terms of grain yield under normal conditions and stress, and the KSC260 hybrid was identified as a tolerant hybrid in terms of all studied traits under drought stress.

RESUMO

Glioma-induced aphasia (GIA) is frequently observed in patients with newly diagnosed gliomas. Previous studies showed an impact of gliomas not only on local brain regions but also on the functionality and structure of brain networks. The current study used navigated transcranial magnetic stimulation (nTMS) to localize language-related regions and to explore language function at the network level in combination with connectome analysis. Thirty glioma patients without aphasia (NA) and 30 patients with GIA were prospectively enrolled. Tumors were located in the vicinity of arcuate fasciculus-related cortical and subcortical regions. The visualized ratio (VR) of each tract was calculated based on their respective fractional anisotropy (FA) and maximal FA. Using a thresholding method of each tract at 25% VR and 50% VR, DTI-based tractography was performed to construct structural brain networks for graph-based connectome analysis, containing functional data acquired by nTMS. The average degree of left hemispheric networks (Mleft ) was higher in the NA group than in the GIA group for both VR thresholds. Differences of global and local efficiency between 25% and 50% VR thresholds were significantly lower in the NA group than in the GIA group. Aphasia levels correlated with connectome properties in Mleft and networks based on positive nTMS mapping regions (Mpos ). A more substantial relation to language performance was found in Mpos and Mleft compared to the network of negative mapping regions (Mneg ). Gliomas causing deterioration of language are related to various cerebral networks. In NA patients, mainly Mneg was impacted, while Mpos was impacted in GIA patients.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: Neuroinflammation and microglial activation play an important role in amnestic mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and Alzheimer's disease. In this study, we investigated the spatial distribution of neuroinflammation in MCI subjects, using spectral analysis (SA) to generate parametric maps and quantify 11C-PBR28 PET, and compared these with compartmental and other kinetic models of quantification. METHODS: Thirteen MCI and nine healthy controls were enrolled in this study. Subjects underwent 11C-PBR28 PET scans with arterial cannulation. Spectral analysis with an arterial plasma input function was used to generate 11C-PBR28 parametric maps. These maps were then compared with regional 11C-PBR28 VT (volume of distribution) using a two-tissue compartment model and Logan graphic analysis. Amyloid load was also assessed with 18F-Flutemetamol PET. RESULTS: With SA, three component peaks were identified in addition to blood volume. The 11C-PBR28 impulse response function (IRF) at 90 min produced the lowest coefficient of variation. Single-subject analysis using this IRF demonstrated microglial activation in five out of seven amyloid-positive MCI subjects. IRF parametric maps of 11C-PBR28 uptake revealed a group-wise significant increase in neuroinflammation in amyloid-positive MCI subjects versus HC in multiple cortical association areas, and particularly in the temporal lobe. Interestingly, compartmental analysis detected group-wise increase in 11C-PBR28 binding in the thalamus of amyloid-positive MCI subjects, while Logan parametric maps did not perform well. CONCLUSIONS: This study demonstrates for the first time that spectral analysis can be used to generate parametric maps of 11C-PBR28 uptake, and is able to detect microglial activation in amyloid-positive MCI subjects. IRF parametric maps of 11C-PBR28 uptake allow voxel-wise single-subject analysis and could be used to evaluate microglial activation in individual subjects.

The analytical methods determine the accuracy ofrefraction, relation accommodation-convergenceand establish the limits of the clear, simple andbinocular vision zone. The comfort zone or workingzone is affected by the following categories: visiondecrease is caused by refractive and functionaldefects (hypermetropia, myopia, astigmatism, amblyopia, and strabismus). Visual fatigue is causedby alterations in the relation accommodationconvergenceand decrease in the amplitude ofaccommodation fusion causing difficulty inattention and concentration in work. Children withlearning problems and reading and writing mistakes:Parents and teachers send school age children topsychological treatments without thinking thatthe academic performance is not associated topersonality aspects and environmental relations, but, on the contrary, their learning low level is aconsequence of their visual discomfort. Pre and postsurgical processes of refractive surgery: in patientsconsultation is normal to find visual discomfort forfar and near vision, blurred vision, double vision, exaggerated discomfort to light, ardor, which affecttheir working clear, simple and binocular visionzone. The analytical exam includes three essentialpoints: refractive examination, graphic examinationand disposition. The graphic analysis clinicallyshows the state of binocular vision, where theworking zone is studied, and identifies the existenceof clear, simple and comfortable vision.

RESUMO

Aim To develop a modified model of subarachnoid hemorrhage in rats. Motheds The SAH model was induced by injecting autologous blood into the cisterna magna without exposing the occipitoaxial ligament. The main modified point was a hole bored by a dental drill at the middle point of the boundary between the parietal bone and the occipital bone, then a catheter was inserted 8 mm to cisterna magna and the autologous blood was injected . Hemorrheological parameters were measured after the model was created. The intrinsic oversxidase method was used to show the microvessel of CA_1 region. The diameter, density ,and the aera of microvessel were measured and ananlyzed by Image-Pro Plus image analysis system. Results The total blood viscosity(?b) and erythroagglutation index(AL) in SAH model group increased significantly, however, the microvesse area and microvesse density in SAH model group decreased obviously. Conclusion The modified model of subarachnoid hemorrhage in rats is reliable and easy to operate on.
