RESUMO
El dolor lumbar es una causa frecuente que afecta a los pacientes que acuden a consulta, siendo uno de los más incapacitantes. Prevalece en la población adulta, con mayor incidencia en los mayores de 30 años, pudiendo evolucionar por crisis, o ser constante y resultar temporal, permanente o recidivante. En su tratamiento se emplean medicamentos alopáticos, modalidades físicas y diferentes técnicas de medicina natural y tradicional con el objetivo de aliviar el dolor, recuperar o mantener la función, así como evitar su recurrencia. Teniendo en cuenta el desarrollo en los últimos tiempos de la homeopatía, se decidió realizar una revisión bibliográfica con el objetivo de identificar los principales medicamentos homeopáticos susceptibles de ser utilizados en esta entidad según criterios actuales.
The lumbar pain is a frequent symptom affecting patients assisting the consultation, and it is one of the most incapacitating. It prevails among the adult population, with a higher incidence in those aged more than 30 years. It may lead to crisis, or may be constant and temporal, permanent or recidivist. Treating it we use allopathic medicines, physical modalities and different traditional and natural medicine techniques with the objective of alleviating pain, recover or maintain the function, and also avoiding its recurrence. Considering the current development of the homeopathy, we decided to make a bibliographic review to identify the main homeopathic medicines that could be used in this entity according to the current criteria.

La linfangitis es el cuadro resultante de la propagación centrípeta de una infección linfógena. Su cuadro clásico de aparición brusca con fiebre, cefalea sequedad de mucosa oral, malestar general, dolor, eritema, edema y aumento de temperatura local a la cual puede asociarse la aparición de flictemas, planteó a los autores la posibilidad de una estrategia flexible de tratamiento homeopático que incluyó: Belladona, Apis mellifica, Nux vómica, Rhus tox. Los autores muestran resultados alentadores durante 30 meses en un grupo de pacientes tratados durante la fase aguda.
Lymphangitis is the resulting product of the propagation of a lymphatic infection. The classical symptoms are fever, headache, dry oral mucosa, general discomfort, pain, erythema, edema and a rise in the temperature of the affected area, all these gave the authors the possibility of a flexible homeopathic treatment that included Belladona, Apis Mellifica, Nux Vomica, and Rhus tox. Authors showed improved results during 30 months in a group of patients treated in the acute phase.
RESUMO
Las crisis de recurrencias de linfangitis conllevan a pérdidas laborales, económicas e incapacidad por incremento del edema linfático que distorsiona la anatomía y provoca limitación funcional del miembro afectado, provocando incapacidad en estos pacientes. Los autores exponen los resultados obtenidos a mediano plazo en una serie de pacientes tratados en su última crisis aguda y posteriormente de forma profiláctica, con medicamentos homeopáticos. Los remedios homeopáticos empleados fueron: Calcárea carbónica, Lychopodium y Pulsatilla.
Recurrent crises.of lymphangitis are the cause of economic looses due to patients' impossibility to go to work as well as physical impairment because of the lymphatic edema that changes the limbs'anatomy causing functional limitations in these patients.The authors state the results obtained in a medial-term research in a series of patients treated in their last acute crisis, finally in a prophylactic way with homeopathic medications. Homeopathic remedies used were Calcarea carbonica, Lychopodium and Pulsatilla.
RESUMO
El conocimiento de la homeopatía en nuestro país es exiguo, a pesar del reconocido desarrollo de la medicina cubana en todos sus órdenes y de la existencia de esta modalidad terapéutica en gran cantidad de países incluso en los más industrializados del mundo. No es hasta 1992 que el Ministerio de Salud Pública decidió incorporar la homeopatía a las llamadas "terapéuticas alternativas". A partir de entonces ha existido un desarrollo acelerado de esta entidad que es desconocido por la casi totalidad de nuestros profesionales de la salud.
The knowledge of homeopathy in our country is exiguous, in spite of the recognized development of Cuban medicine in all its spheres and of the existance of this therapeutic modality in a lot of countries, even in the most industrialized. It is not until 1992 that the Ministry of Public Health decided to incorporate homeopathy to the socalled "alternative therapeutics". Since then, there has been an accelerated development of this entity that is unknown by most of our health professionals. It is made a synthesis on the present status of homeopathy in Cuba starting from the arduous work carried out by the "Dr. Juan Antiga" Cuban Group of Homeopathy as a leading group of this discipline, taking into account its history, composition, structure, functioning, and its results in the assistance, scientific and teaching activities.
