RESUMO
La Revista del Instituto Paraguayo, una iniciativa cultural que surgió en el ambiente intelectual nacional durante la última década del siglo XIX y la primera del siglo XX, fue publicada entre 1896 y 1909. En esta revista se difundieron algunos ensayos que constituyen las manifestaciones tempranas de un pensamiento psicológico en el Paraguay. Aunque de características teóricas, reflejaban la absorción de ideas que estaban siendo discutidas en ese momento en la psicología internacional. Este artículo explora el contenido de estos ensayos y los ubica en el contexto histórico que les corresponde. La metodología es el análisis documental de fuentes publicadas, de manera particular los artículos pertinentes para la psicología, contenidos en esta revista. En la conclusión se analizan las implicancias de estos trabajos para el desarrollo de la psicología paraguaya en el período preuniversitario.
The Journal of the Paraguayan Institute, a cultural initiative that arose in the national intellectual atmosphere on the last decade of the 19th Century and the first of the 20th Century, was published between 1896 y 1909. In this journal spread some papers that constitute the early manifestations of a psychological thought in Paraguay. Although of theoretical features, the articles reflected the assimilation of ideas that were being discussed in the international psychology at that time. This article explores the contents of these essays and puts them in the historical context in which they emerged. The methodology is the documentary analysis of published sources, in particular the relevant articles for psychology contained in this journal. In the conclusion are analyzed the implications of these publications for the development of psychology in the preuniversity period.
