RESUMO

Cardiac tumors are neoplasms involving heart structures at any level, meaning the myocardium, valves, and cardiac chambers. When considering cardiac masses, it is not uncommon for surgeons to be surprised when they diagnose one. The real incidence of this complex group of diseases has been explored only after cardiac diagnostic tools became more appropriate. Despite differential diagnosis being relevant, surgical indication is usually requested for all malignant cardiac tumors and also for many types of benign tumors. The development of cardiac imaging techniques, therefore, has been the key point for a better understanding of the history of cardiac tumors and especially of the relevance of surgical indication in such conditions. Systematic and combined applications of echocardiography, cardiac computed tomography and magnetic resonance allow in the majority of case a clear definition of the nature of a newly discovered cardiac mass. The presence of a Li-Fraumeni syndrome seems to be the trigger aspect in accelerating the propensity of developing a cardiac tumor. Despite the revolutionary usefulness of the cardiac imaging techniques available, it is still considered a hazard to diagnose a malignant cardiac mass just with radiological imaging; the mainstay of the final diagnosis stands in surgical excision of the mass and histopathological report.

Acknowledging the increasing use of whole-body magnetic resonance imaging (WB-MRI) in the oncological setting, we conducted a narrative review focusing on practical aspects of the examination and providing a synthesis of various acquisition protocols described in the literature. Firstly, we addressed the topic of patient preparation, emphasizing methods to enhance examination acceptance. This included strategies for reducing anxiety and patient distress, improving staff-patient interactions, and increasing overall patient comfort. Secondly, we analysed WB-MRI acquisition protocols recommended in existing imaging guidelines, such as MET-RADS-P, MY-RADS, and ONCO-RADS, and provided an overview of acquisition protocols reported in the literature regarding other expanding applications of WB-MRI in oncology, in patients with breast cancer, ovarian cancer, melanoma, colorectal and lung cancer, lymphoma, and cancers of unknown primary. Finally, we suggested possible acquisition parameters for whole-body images across MR systems from three different vendors.

INTRODUCTION: Adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC) is a rare malignancy in children. Because of this, each patient with suspected ACC requires individualised management, which should be determined at a meeting of a team of multidisciplinary experts in the field. AIM OF THE STUDY: To summarise data on symptoms, genetic predisposition, and diagnostic procedures for ACC in children. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Papers were searched in the PubMed database to identify published randomised clinical trials, reviews, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and case reports. RESULTS: Most cases of ACC in children occur under the age of 5 years. The most common presenting symptom in 60-80% of paediatric patients is rapidly progressive virilisation. Diagnostics are based on laboratory and imaging evaluation. The mainstay of treatment is surgery, with laparotomy being the preferred method of surgery. Diagnosis is based on histological examination of surgically removed tissue. The Wieneke index is most commonly used in paediatric practice. However, some cases are still classified as "indeterminate histology". Predisposing genetic factors are found in most children with ACC, most commonly a mutation of the TP53 gene. CONCLUSIONS: Patients should be diagnosed in large clinical centres with experience in this field. The treatment strategy should be individualised. Genetic testing for TP53 gene mutations is indicated in patients with ACC.

Choroid plexus carcinomas (CPC) are early childhood cancers characterized by loss of TP53 function and poor survival. We are analyzing data on TP53 status, survival, and second cancers from the largest cohort of CPC receiving chemotherapy followed by consolidation with marrow-ablative chemotherapy (HDCx). Additionally, we discuss the rationale for targeted therapies for CPC patients. Currently, 8 of the 13 with Li-Fraumeni Syndrome-associated CPC were treated and continued CPC-free, indicating that HDCx improves CPC-free survival in young children with TP53-mutated CPC. These data justify the inclusion of HDCx in the planned prospective international trial for children with TP53-mutated CPC.

BACKGROUND: Li-Fraumeni syndrome (LFS), a hereditary condition attributed to TP53 pathogenic variants,(PV), is associated with high risks for various malignant tumors, including breast cancer. Notably, individuals harboring TP53 PVs are more likely (67-83%) to develop HER2 + breast cancer than noncarriers (16-25%). In this retrospective study, we evaluated the associations between TP53 variants and breast cancer phenotype. METHODS: We conducted a retrospective review of the medical records of patients with LFS treated at a single institution and reviewed the literature on TP53 functions and the mechanisms underlying HER2 + breast cancer development in LFS. RESULTS: We analyzed data for 10 patients with LFS from 8 families. The median age at the onset of the first tumor was 35.5 years. Only case 2 met the classic criteria; this patient harbored a nonsense variant, whereas the other patients carried missense variants. We observed that 9 of 10 patients developed breast cancer. Immunohistochemical analyses revealed that 40% of breast cancers in patients with LFS were HR - /HER2 + . The median age at the onset of breast cancer was slightly younger in HR - /HER2 + tumors than in HR + /HER2 - tumors (31 years and 35.5 years, respectively). CONCLUSIONS: The occurrence of HER2 + breast cancer subtype was 40% in our LFS case series, which is greater than that in the general population (16-25%). Some TP53 PVs may facilitate HER2-derived oncogenesis in breast cancer. However, further studies with larger sample sizes are warranted to clarify the oncogenic mechanisms underlying each subtype of breast cancer in TP53 PV carriers.

BACKGROUD: Li-Fraumeni syndrome is a hereditary tumor syndrome characterized by an elevated risk of malignancy, particularly acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), which can be caused by the heterozygous germline mutation. TP53 gene germline mutation is considered a potential risk factor and crucial prognostic parameter for acute leukemia development and diagnosis, but rarely occurs in adults, and its specific pathogenic significance in acute leukemia is unclear. CASE PRESENTATION: We describes a case of a 45-year-old woman diagnosed with ALL. Whole-exome sequencing approach identified one of the TP53 germline mutations from her bone marrow sample with possible pathogenic significance, c.848G>A (p.Arg283His) heterozygous missense mutation located on exon 8, which was further verified in her hair, oral mucous and nail samples. Family pedigree screening revealed that the same TP53 genetic variant was present in the patient's father and non-donor son, whereas not in the donor. Digital PCR observed that this point mutation frequency dropped post-transplantation but remained low during maintenance therapy when the patient was leukemia-free. CONCLUSION: This suspected Li-Fraumeni syndrome case report with a likely pathogenic heterozygous TP53 variant expands the cancer genetic spectrum. Screening her family members for mutations facilitates identifying the optimal relative donor and avoids unnecessary treatment by monitoring TP53 germline mutations for minimal residual disease following hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Its potential roles in hematological malignant tumor development and clinical pathogenic implications necessitate further probing.

BACKGROUND: Li-Fraumeni syndrome (LFS) is a penetrant cancer predisposition syndrome (CPS) associated with the development of many tumor types in young people including osteosarcoma and breast cancer (BC). The McGill Interactive Pediatric OncoGenetic Guidelines (MIPOGG) decision-support tool provides a standardized approach to identify patients at risk of CPSs. METHODS: We conducted a cost-utility analysis, from the healthcare payer perspective, to compare MIPOGG-guided, physician-guided, and universal genetic testing strategies to detect LFS in female patients diagnosed at an age of less than 18 years with osteosarcoma. We developed a decision tree and discrete-event simulation model to simulate the clinical and cost outcomes of the three genetic referral strategies on a cohort of female children diagnosed with osteosarcoma, especially focused on BC as subsequent cancer. Outcomes included BC incidence, quality-adjusted life-years (QALYs), healthcare costs, and incremental cost-utility ratios (ICURs). We conducted probabilistic and scenario analyses to assess the uncertainty surrounding model parameters. RESULTS: Compared to the physician-guided testing, the MIPOGG-guided strategy was marginally more expensive by $105 (-$516; $743), but slightly more effective by 0.003 (-0.04; 0.045) QALYs. Compared to MIPOGG, the universal testing strategy was $1333 ($732; $1953) more costly and associated with 0.011 (-0.043; 0.064) additional QALYs. The ICUR for the MIPOGG strategy was $33,947/QALY when compared to the physician strategy; the ICUR for universal testing strategy was $118,631/QALY when compared to the MIPOGG strategy. DISCUSSION: This study provides evidence for clinical and policy decision-making on the cost-effectiveness of genetic referral strategies to identify LFS in the setting of osteosarcoma. MIPOGG-guided strategy was most likely to be cost-effective at a willingness-to-pay threshold value of $50,000/QALY.

Background: Li-Fraumeni syndrome (LFS) is an inherited cancer predisposition syndrome with an estimated prevalence of 1 in 3,000-5,000 individuals. LFS poses a significant cancer risk throughout the lifespan, with notable cancer susceptibility in childhood. Despite being predominantly inherited, up to 20% of cases arise de novo. Surveillance protocols facilitate the reduction of mortality and morbidity through early cancer detection. While newborn screening (NBS) has proven effective in identifying newborns with rare genetic conditions, even those occurring as rarely as 1 in 185,000, its potential for detecting inherited cancer predispositions remains largely unexplored. Methods: This survey-based study investigates perspectives toward NBS for LFS among individuals with and parents of children with LFS receiving care at single comprehensive cancer center in the U.S. Results: All participants unanimously supported NBS for LFS (n = 24). Reasons included empowerment (83.3%), control (66.7%), and peace of mind (54.2%), albeit with concerns about anxiety (62.5%) and devastation (50%) related to receiving positive results. Participants endorsed NBS as beneficial for cancer detection and prevention (91.7%), research efforts (87.5%), and family planning (79.2%) but voiced apprehensions about the financial cost of cancer surveillance (62.5%), emotional burdens (62.5%), and insurance coverage and discrimination (54.2%). Approximately 83% of respondents believed that parental consent should be required to screen newborns for LFS. Conclusion: This study revealed strong support for NBS for LFS despite the recognition of various perceived benefits and risks. These findings underscore the complex interplay between clinical, psychosocial, and ethical factors in considering NBS for LFS from the perspective of the LFS community.

INTRODUCTION: Germline pathogenic mutations in TP53 gene are associated with a cancer predisposition syndrome known as Li Fraumeni syndrome. Albeit infrequently, non-small cell lung cancer, especially as oncogene-addicted disease, may be diagnosed in young patients with Li Fraumeni syndrome. CASE DESCRIPTION: We report three cases of patients affected by Li Fraumeni syndrome who developed non-small cell lung cancer with EGFR or HER2 exon 20 insertions. The first patient suffered from liposarcoma and, then, brain metastases from HER2-mutated non-small cell lung cancer: after stereotactic radiotherapy, he benefited from enrollment in a clinical trial with a HER2-targeted therapy. The second young patient was a female with personal history of rhabdomyosarcoma, diagnosed with brain metastases from EGFR-mutated non-small cell lung cancer: enrollment in a clinical trial led to a temporary clinical benefit. The last case was a female diagnosed with breast carcinoma, ovarian granulosa cell tumor and advanced EGFR-mutated non-small cell lung cancer at a young age. CONCLUSIONS: Young patients affected by oncogene-addicted non-small cell lung cancer and with a positive familial cancer history should be referred for an accurate genetic counselling to look for Li Fraumeni syndrome. The underlying molecular connection between TP53 and HER family receptor tyrosine kinases remains unclear, but an extensive molecular characterization of tumors from patients with Li Fraumeni syndrome should always be performed, to offer patients a personalized therapeutic approach.

BACKGROUND: Germline heterozygous TP53 pathogenic variants (PVs) cause Li Fraumeni Syndrome (LFS, OMIM#151623). TP53 PVs at lower-than-expected variant allele frequencies (VAF) may reflect postzygotic mosaicism (PZM) or clonal hematopoiesis (CH); however, no guidelines exist for workup and clinical management. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Retrospective analysis of probands who presented to an academic cancer genetics program with a TP53 PV result on germline genetic testing. RESULTS: Twenty-one of 125 unrelated probands (17 %) were found to harbor a TP53 PV with VAF<30 % or a designation of "mosaic". A diagnosis of PZM was made in nine (43 %) due to a clinical phenotype consistent with LFS with (n = 8) or without (n = 1) positive ancillary tissue testing. Twelve patients (57 %) were diagnosed with presumed CH (pCH) due to a diagnosis of a myeloproliferative neoplasm, negative ancillary tissue testing, clinical phenotype not meeting LFS criteria, no cancer, and/or no first cancer age<50. Of the 19 patients with biological offspring, nine had either partial or complete offspring testing, all negative. CONCLUSIONS: Determining the etiology of low VAF TP53 PVs requires ancillary tissue testing and incorporation of clinical phenotype. Discerning PZM versus CH is important to provide optimal care and follow-up.

BACKGROUND: Li-Fraumeni syndrome (LFS) is a rare autosomal dominant cancer-predisposing syndrome, which can manifest as a polymorphic spectrum of malignancies. LFS is associated with an early onset in life, with the majority of cases occurring prior to the age of 46. Notwithstanding the infrequency of primary cardiac tumors, it behooves clinicians to remain vigilant in considering the differential diagnosis of such tumors in LFS patients who present with a cardiac mass. This is due to the markedly elevated risk for malignancy in this particular population, far surpassing that of the general populace. CASE SUMMARY: Herein, we present a case of a 30-year-old female with LFS who was found to have a tricuspid valve leaflet mass. CONCLUSION: This case exemplifies valuable learning points in the diagnostic approach for this exceptionally rare patient population.

Li-Fraumeni syndrome (LFS) is an autosomal dominant tumor predisposition syndrome caused by heterozygous germline mutations or deletions in the TP53 tumor suppressor gene. Central nervous system tumors, such as choroid plexus tumors, medulloblastomas, and diffuse gliomas, are frequently found in patients with LFS. Although molecular profiles of diffuse gliomas that develop in pediatric patients with LFS have been elucidated, those in adults are limited. Recently, diffuse gliomas have been divided into pediatric- and adult-type gliomas, based on their distinct molecular profiles. In the present study, we investigated the molecular profiles of high-grade gliomas in three adults with LFS. These tumors revealed characteristic histopathological findings of high-grade glioma or glioblastoma and harbored wild-type IDH1/2 according to whole exome sequencing (WES). However, these tumors did not exhibit the key molecular alterations of glioblastoma, IDH-wildtype such as TERT promoter mutation, EGFR amplification, or chromosome 7 gain and 10 loss. Although WES revealed no other characteristic gene mutations or copy number alterations in high-grade gliomas, such as those in histone H3 genes, PDGFRA amplification was found in all three cases together with uniparental disomy of chromosome 17p, where the TP53 gene is located. DNA methylation analyses revealed that all tumors exhibited DNA methylation profiles similar to those of pediatric-type high-grade glioma H3-wildtype and IDH-wildtype (pHGG H3-/IDH-wt), RTK1 subtype. These data suggest that high-grade gliomas developed in adult patients with LFS may be involved in pHGG H3-/IDH-wt. PDGFRA and homozygous alterations in TP53 may play pivotal roles in the development of this type of glioma in adult patients with LFS.

PURPOSE: This systematic review evaluated whole-body MRI (WB-MRI) as a cancer screening tool for individuals carrying germline TP53 mutations, a population known to be at a significantly elevated risk of malignancy. The primary objective is to assess the diagnostic performance of WB-MRI in detecting cancer in this cohort. METHODS: PubMed, MEDLINE, EMBASE and the Cochrane Central Registry of Controlled Trials were searched until 18 August 2023. Eligible studies were selected based on predefined inclusion criteria. The data extracted included information on study characteristics, patient demographics, and the WB-MRI diagnostic performance. RESULTS: This systematic review identified eight eligible studies, comprising 506 TP53 mutation carriers. The mean age was 34.6 ± 16.3 (range 1-74) years. In total, 321/506 (63.4%) of the patients were female and 185/506 (36.6%) were male. In addition, 267/506 (52.8%) had a previous oncological diagnosis. Thirty-six new cancers were diagnosed with WB-MRI (36/506 (7.1%)). The overall pooled proportion of cancer detected on MRI was 7% (95% confidence interval 5-10). In total, 44 new lesions were picked up, as multiple lesions were found in some patients. CONCLUSION: WB-MRI is an effective cancer screening tool for TP53 mutation carriers. While these findings suggest the potential for WB-MRI to contribute to early cancer detection in this high-risk population, further research and the standardisation of protocols internationally are warranted to optimise its clinical utility.

Introduction: Medulloblastoma is the most common malignant brain tumor in children, often requiring intensive multimodal therapy, including chemotherapy with alkylating agents. However, therapy-related complications, such as therapy-related myeloid neoplasms (t-MNs), can arise, particularly in patients with genetic predisposition syndromes. This case report presents three pediatric cases of medulloblastoma with subsequent development of t-MNs, highlighting the potential role of genetic predisposition and the importance of surveillance for hematological abnormalities in long-term survivors. Case presentation: We describe three cases of pediatric medulloblastoma who developed t-MNs after receiving chemotherapy, including alkylating agents. Two of the patients had underlying genetic predisposition syndromes (TP53 pathologic variants). The latency period between initial diagnosis of medulloblastoma and the development of secondary cancer varied among the cases, ranging from 17 to 65 months. The three cases eventually succumbed from secondary malignancy, therapy-related complications and progression of primary disease, respectively. Conclusions: This report highlights the potential association between genetic predisposition syndromes and the development of therapy-related myeloid neoplasms in pediatric medulloblastoma survivors. It underscores the importance of surveillance for hematological abnormalities among such patients.

RESUMO

The number of youths who identify with a gender different from their sex designated at birth is increasing. Youth account for about 4% of all cancer diagnoses in the United States. Some youths may want gender-affirming medical treatment, such as puberty blockers and/or hormone therapy, which may exacerbate cancer and/or increase cancer development risk. No studies assess the impact of estrogen-based treatment in gender-diverse youth with a history of Li-Fraumeni syndrome. This case report will discuss gender-affirming care and shared decision-making in a youth with a history of Li-Fraumeni syndrome and increased risk for breast cancer.

The reported risk factors for glioblastoma (GBM), i.e., ionizing radiation, Li-Fraumeni syndrome, Neurofibromatosis I, and Turcot syndrome, also increase the risk of other brain tumor types. Risk factors for human GBM are associated with different oncogenic mutation profiles. Pedigreed domestic dogs with a shorter nose and flatter face (brachycephalic dogs) display relatively high rates of glioma formation. The genetic profiles of canine gliomas are also idiosyncratic. The association of putatively different mutational patterns in humans and canines with GBM suggests that different oncogenic pathways can result in GBM formation. Strong epidemiological evidence for an association between exposure to chemical carcinogens and an increased risk for development of GBM is currently lacking. Ionizing radiation induces point mutations, frameshift mutations, double-strand breaks, and chromosomal insertions or deletions. Mutational profiles associated with chemical exposures overlap with the broad mutational patterns seen with ionizing radiation. Weak statistical associations between chemical exposures and GBM reported in epidemiology studies are biologically plausible. Molecular approaches comparing reproducible patterns seen in spontaneous GBM with analogous patterns found in GBMs resected from patients with known significant exposures to potentially carcinogenic chemicals can address difficulties presented by traditional exposure assessment.

Li-Fraumeni syndrome (LFS) is a rare syndrome characterized by an increased lifetime risk of cancer development in multiple organ systems, typically caused by de novo or inherited germline pathogenic variants in the tumor suppressor TP53 gene. LFS is more classically associated with solid tumors; however, it is also associated with hematologic malignancies such as therapy-related acute myeloid leukemia (AML). We present the case of a female patient with a strong family and personal history of cancer who presented to our institution with therapy-related AML with next-generation sequencing showing a pathogenic TP53 mutation. She received several lines of systemic therapy and underwent stem cell transplant using her adult daughter as a haploidentical donor after achieving minimal residual disease (MRD). Her posttransplant bone marrow evaluations demonstrated persistence of the same pathogenic TP53 mutation despite ongoing clinical remission with full donor engraftment and negative MRD. Genetic testing was performed which confirmed the germline origin of the TP53 pathogenic variant in the patient. The patient's adult donor daughter was also identified to have the same pathogenic variant in TP53 consistent with LFS. The presented case highlights the need for increased awareness of LFS in the adult hematologic community, particularly for patients undergoing evaluation for stem cell transplant.

BACKGROUND: Li-Fraumeni syndrome (LFS) is a rare autosomal dominant disease caused by inherited or de novo germline pathogenic variants in TP53. Individuals with LFS have a 70-100% lifetime risk of developing cancer. The current standard of care involves annual surveillance with whole-body and brain MRI (WB-MRI) and clinical review; however, there are no chemoprevention agents licensed for individuals with LFS. Preclinical studies in LFS murine models show that the anti-diabetic drug metformin is chemopreventive and, in a pilot intervention trial, short-term use of metformin was well-tolerated in adults with LFS. However, metformin's mechanism of anticancer activity in this context is unclear. METHODS: Metformin in adults with Li-Fraumeni syndrome (MILI) is a Precision-Prevention phase II open-labelled unblinded randomised clinical trial in which 224 adults aged ≥ 16 years with LFS are randomised 1:1 to oral metformin (up to 2 mg daily) plus annual MRI surveillance or annual MRI surveillance alone for up to 5 years. The primary endpoint is to compare cumulative cancer-free survival up to 5 years (60 months) from randomisation between the intervention (metformin) and control (no metformin) arms. Secondary endpoints include a comparison of cumulative tumour-free survival at 5 years, overall survival at 5 years and clinical characteristics of emerging cancers between trial arms. Safety, toxicity and acceptability of metformin; impact of metformin on quality of life; and impact of baseline lifestyle risk factors on cancer incidence will be assessed. Exploratory end-points will evaluate the mechanism of action of metformin as a cancer preventative, identify biomarkers of response or carcinogenesis and assess WB-MRI performance as a diagnostic tool for detecting cancers in participants with LFS by assessing yield and diagnostic accuracy of WB-MRI. DISCUSSION: Alongside a parallel MILI study being conducted by collaborators at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), MILI is the first prevention trial to be conducted in this high-risk group. The MILI study provides a unique opportunity to evaluate the efficacy of metformin as a chemopreventive alongside exploring its mechanism of anticancer action and the biological process of mutated P53-driven tumourigenesis. Li-Fraumeni syndrome (LFS) is a rare autosomal dominant cancer predisposition syndrome associated with a highly elevated lifetime cancer risk. This and the recommended intense surveillance program represent a large psychological burden on families. In order to develop targeted psychosocial interventions, we conducted a needs assessment. Adults (≥18 years) with LFS were included via regular hospital visits and online support groups and newsletters. Individuals filled out a questionnaire addressing among others: fear of progression (FoP-questionnaire, short-form), health-related quality of life (HRQoL, Short-Form Health Survey-12), distress (National Comprehensive Cancer Network distress thermometer), perceived cancer risk, and aspects of surveillance adherence. Collecting data over a 14-month period (March 2020 - June 2021), 70 adults were recruited (female = 58, 82.9%; mean age = 41.53 years). With mean mental component scores (MCS) of 42.28 (SD = 10.79), and physical component scores (PCS) of 48.83 (SD = 10.46), HRQoL was low in 34.8% (physical) and 59.4% (mental) of individuals when applying a mean cut-off of 45.4 (PCS) and 47.5 (MCS) to indicate poor HRQoL. High levels of FoP and distress were present in 68.6% and 69.1% of the participants, respectively. Performing a multiple linear regression on MCS and PCS, no sociodemographic variable was shown to be significant. FoP (ß = -0.33, p < 0.05) and distress (ß = -0.34, p < 0.05) were significantly associated with MCS. Individuals in our sample were burdened more than expected, with the majority reporting low levels of (mental) HRQoL, high distress, and FoP. Psychosocial support is necessary to help individuals with LFS (survivors as well as "previvors") increase their HRQoL, as it is crucial to survival.

BACKGROUND: Ionizing radiation and alkylating chemotherapies increase secondary malignancy risk in patients with cancer predisposition syndromes (CPSs), such as Li-Fraumeni syndrome. Laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT) is a minimally invasive ablation technique that has not been associated with mutagenic risks. We describe the case of a child with LFS and a history of treated choroid plexus carcinoma (CPC) who developed a second primary glial tumor that was safely treated with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-guided LITT. OBSERVATIONS: A 4-year-old male with left parietal World Health Organization grade III CPC associated with a TP53 germline mutation was evaluated. The patient underwent neoadjuvant platinum-based chemotherapy before near-total resection, followed by 131I-8H9 immunotherapy and 30 fractions of 54-Gy proton radiotherapy. He remained without evidence of disease for 2 years before developing a slow-growing mass adjacent to the left frontal ventricular horn. Stereotactic biopsy revealed a glial neoplasm. Given the nonsuperficial location and focality of the lesion, MRI-guided LITT was performed for ablative therapy. There were no complications, and 2 years of surveillance revealed continued retraction of the ablated tumor focus and no subsequent disease. LESSONS: Alternatives to mutagenic therapies for brain tumors should be explored for patients with CPS. LITT paired with imaging surveillance is a logical strategy to ensure durable outcomes and mitigate treatment-related secondary neoplasms.
