RESUMO

Based on the extended parallel process model, this study investigated the relationship between young adults' media exposure to COVID-19 and their adoption of protective behaviors. This study surveyed 141 college students and found that increased risk perceptions led to greater intentions to engage in COVID-19-preventive behaviors and that these intentions were mediated by normative beliefs. There was no significant difference in risk perceptions between traditional media and social media. The results showed that college students took precautions against COVID-19 because they perceived themselves to be both vulnerable and capable.

RESUMO

To maintain a harmonious teacher-student relationship and enable educators to gain a more insightful understanding of students' learning progress, this study collects data from learners utilizing the software through a network platform. These data are mainly formed by the user's learning characteristics, combined with the screen lighting time, built-in inertial sensor attitude, signal strength, network strength and other multi-dimensional characteristics to form the learning observation value, so as to analyze the corresponding learning state, so that teachers can carry out targeted teaching improvement. The article introduces an intelligent classification approach for learning time series, leveraging long short-term memory (LSTM) as the foundation of a deep network model. This model intelligently recognizes the learning status of students. The test results demonstrate that the proposed model achieves highly precise time series recognition using relatively straightforward features. This precision, exceeding 95%, is of significant importance for future applications in learning state recognition, aiding teachers in gaining an intelligent grasp of students' learning status.

RESUMO

Acquiring innovative styles and compositions from intricate and heterogeneous artistic imagery has emerged as a pivotal research quandry within contemporary new media art image conception. In a concerted effort to adeptly distill the quintessence of artistic styles and elements embedded within these visuals, an innovative methodology is posited herein, underpinned by an enhanced U-net segmentation framework and harmoniously fused with the surface extraction image reconstruction algorithm. This meticulous amalgamation endeavors to attain accurate segmentation and tridimensional reconstruction of the artistry encapsulated in these images. Primarily, the imagery is meticulously partitioned, culminating in an output that artfully encapsulates the inherent artistic attributes. Subsequently, this segmentation outcome is adeptly reconstituted, bestowing form to a three-dimensional artistry model. Empirical validation substantiates the efficacy of this approach, with the method's Mean Intersection over the Union (MIoU) parameter yielding an impressive score of 0.939 in segmentation performance. Moreover, the peak signal-to-noise ratio and structural similarity attain commendable zeniths of 38.16 and 0.9808, respectively, underscoring the excellence of the reconstruction process. The proposed methodology demonstrates its prowess in exacting segmentation and comprehensive reconstruction of semantic intricacies and nuanced features pervading the realm of artistic imagery. Consequently, this novel methodology augments artists' capacity to discern diverse artistic paradigms and fabricate superlative new media art compositions of heightened caliber.

RESUMO

While previous studies have investigated the influence of new media on mental health, little is known about its effects on the mental health of married women. This is a crucial research area, given that married women commonly encounter distinct mental health difficulties. Also, current research fails to provide comprehensive, population-based studies, with most relying on cross-sectional designs. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the relationship between new media use and mental health among married women in China, utilizing a nationally representative longitudinal dataset. We utilized a balanced panel dataset from 2016 to 2020 to establish a causal connection between internet use and the mental health of these women. Our findings indicate that internet use has a positive impact on the mental health of married women in China. Additionally, a structural estimation model (SEM) with 2020 wave data was utilized to investigate various new media use effects and explore mediating pathways of marital satisfaction. Consistently, there were negative findings between new media use, marital satisfaction, and depression. Furthermore, it was determined that new media usage had a significant negative impact on married women's overall satisfaction with their spouses' housework contribution, which, in turn, negatively affected marital satisfaction as a whole. The pathways that mediate the effect of marital satisfaction on depression differ across general internet use, streaming media use, and WeChat use. Examining various theoretical perspectives, we interpreted the indirect impact of new media use on mental health through marital satisfaction as passive mediation.

RESUMO

Objective: To retrospectively analyze the factors influencing the treatment of rosacea patients with regular follow-up by self-management support in the new media chronic disease management model, to explore the effect of self-management support and to provide an objective basis for clinical application. Methods: Female patients with rosacea who were regularly followed up for more than 6 months at the rosacea follow-up clinic of the Department of Dermatology, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, from March 2022 to June 2023, with erythema and capillary dilation as the main clinical phenotype, met the rosacea diagnostic criteria of the American Rosacea Expert Committee 2017 edition, and received medications recommended by the Chinese Rosacea Treatment Guidelines (2021 edition). A total of 125 patients were treated with combined photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT), and the patients were divided into a standardized group (CEA<1, IGA<1) and a non-standardized group (CEA≥1, IGA≥1) based on significant rosacea efficacy (CEA<1, IGA<1) within 6 months. The age, gender, education level, duration of rosacea, treatment regimen, education intensity, CEA, and IGA baseline data were compared between the two groups, and logistic regression analysis was performed to analyze the factors influencing the significant efficacy of rosacea. Results: There was a significant difference in the mean length of education between the two groups (P<0.05), and the differences between the rest of the baseline information of the two groups were not statistically significant (P>0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that the variable that significantly influenced the efficacy of treatment was the mean length of education (≥130.5 min/month), and the intensity of education was significantly associated with the efficacy of treatment. Conclusion: Self-management support in the new media chronic disease management model has a positive impact on the treatment of rosacea patients.

RESUMO

Introduction: In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, there is an increased need for potential travelers to gather information about their trips to mitigate perceived risks. This study aims to understand the relationship between the intensity of media use (both new and traditional), epidemic risk perception, and tourism protection behavior intention among potential tourists. Methods: A total of 491 valid questionnaires were collected in Shanghai, China. Factor analysis, path analysis, and effect analysis were conducted using SPSS and AMOS to examine the impact of different media types on epidemic risk perception and tourism protection behavior. Results: The findings indicate a positive association between new media use intensity and epidemic risk perception, as well as an intention to adopt safety-conscious tourism behaviors. In contrast, traditional media usage is inversely associated with risk perception but has no significant influence on protective behavior. The results also highlight the role of demographic factors, such as age, education level, occupation, and income, in modulating the relationship between media usage and risk perception. Discussion: The contrasting effects of new and traditional media suggest the need for a tailored approach in epidemic communication strategies. Public health officials should leverage new media to enhance risk perception and safety-oriented behaviors, while recognizing the role of traditional media in managing lower risk perceptions and assuaging panic. The study emphasizes the importance of personalized messaging based on demographic disparities in media usage and perception. The mediating role of risk perception in shaping protective behaviors offers insights for promoting adherence to safety protocols. Conclusion: This study contributes to a comprehensive understanding of media influences during health crises, emphasizing the responsibility of media platforms in transmitting accurate information. The findings call for a nuanced approach to epidemic communication, considering the strengths and weaknesses of different media types. Segmented and personalized messaging strategies can cater to demographic variations in media usage and perception. Enhancing risk perception through tailored messaging can promote protective behaviors and effectively manage public sentiment during health crises.

RESUMO

Music can serve as a potent tool for conveying emotions and regulating learners' moods, while the systematic application of emotional assessment can help to improve teaching efficiency. However, existing music emotion analysis methods based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) rely primarily on pre-marked content, such as lyrics and fail to adequately account for music signals' perception, transmission, and recognition. To address this limitation, this study first employs sound-level segmentation, data frame processing, and threshold determination to enable intelligent segmentation and recognition of notes. Next, based on the extracted audio features, a Radial Basis Function (RBF) model is utilized to construct a music emotion classifier. Finally, correlation feedback was used to label the classification results further and train the classifier. The study compares the music emotion classification method commonly used in Chinese music education with the Hevner emotion model. It identifies four emotion categories: Quiet, Happy, Sad, and Excited, to classify performers' emotions. The testing results demonstrate that audio feature recognition time is a mere 0.004 min, with an accuracy rate of over 95%. Furthermore, classifying performers' emotions based on audio features is consistent with conventional human cognition.

RESUMO

The integration of public art education and new media in colleges and universities remains a trend which cannot be stopped. As new media has had a beneficial impact on teaching content, forms of teaching, and teaching effects, it has also created various challenges for public art education in colleges and universities. While investigating the current state of integrating new media with public art education in colleges and universities, it was found that the impact of new media benefits more than it harms, whether it be online, in-person, theoretical, or practical teaching. Based on the current state, future policy focus, the direction of new media's changes, and the depth of cultural and art resources, new media and public art education in colleges and universities will continue to deepen integration and show further improvement. Using a survey of more than a dozen universities in the Jiangsu Province and the results of a questionnaire survey of 116 college students, this paper probes into the changes in public art education in colleges and universities in the new media era and explores the future developmental pattern of public art education in colleges and universities both internally and externally.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: COVID-19 has been reported to affect the sleep quality of Chinese residents; however, the epidemic's effects on the sleep quality of college students during closed-loop management remain unclear, and a screening tool is lacking. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to understand the sleep quality of college students in Fujian Province during the epidemic and determine sensitive variables, in order to develop an efficient prediction model for the early screening of sleep problems in college students. METHODS: From April 5 to 16, 2022, a cross-sectional internet-based survey was conducted. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) scale, a self-designed general data questionnaire, and the sleep quality influencing factor questionnaire were used to understand the sleep quality of respondents in the previous month. A chi-square test and a multivariate unconditioned logistic regression analysis were performed, and influencing factors obtained were applied to develop prediction models. The data were divided into a training-testing set (n=14,451, 70%) and an independent validation set (n=6194, 30%) by stratified sampling. Four models using logistic regression, an artificial neural network, random forest, and naïve Bayes were developed and validated. RESULTS: In total, 20,645 subjects were included in this survey, with a mean global PSQI score of 6.02 (SD 3.112). The sleep disturbance rate was 28.9% (n=5972, defined as a global PSQI score >7 points). A total of 11 variables related to sleep quality were taken as parameters of the prediction models, including age, gender, residence, specialty, respiratory history, coffee consumption, stay up, long hours on the internet, sudden changes, fears of infection, and impatient closed-loop management. Among the generated models, the artificial neural network model proved to be the best, with an area under curve, accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value of 0.713, 73.52%, 25.51%, 92.58%, 57.71%, and 75.79%, respectively. It is noteworthy that the logistic regression, random forest, and naive Bayes models achieved high specificities of 94.41%, 94.77%, and 86.40%, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: The COVID-19 containment measures affected the sleep quality of college students on multiple levels, indicating that it is desiderate to provide targeted university management and social support. The artificial neural network model has presented excellent predictive efficiency and is favorable for implementing measures earlier in order to improve present conditions.

RESUMO

With the rapid development of the economy, we are facing more and more problems, and the construction of ecological civilization has become the focus of our national concern. With the rapid development of network technology, the immediacy of the new media and the huge audience have brought new development trends to the dissemination of environmental information. The number of new environmental media is increasing, but there are still some problems, such as formality, rigid content and lack of innovation, which make it difficult to achieve better communication effects. However, the research on new environmental media is still in its infancy, and there is not yet a set of targeted and specialized new media evaluation systems. Based on the social function of new environmental news media and the social responsibility of media as the entry point, the article establishes a set of index systems to measure the efficiency of environmental news dissemination and proposes corresponding improvement measures accordingly. The results of the study show that the best use of environmental education publicity is at 81.3%. In terms of cognitive efficiency and attitudinal efficacy, the scores of environmental education weibo public numbers were not high, at 60.7% and 71.5%, respectively. From the perspective of ideological and political education, the environmental protection class of WeChat plays a good role in attracting the attention of college students, and can provide ideological and political education to them and improve their ideological awareness. In terms of cognition, new media is responsible for conveying environmental knowledge and concepts to college students, so the development of new media centers on environmental information, and the content directly affects the cognitive level of college students, fully reflecting the importance of cognitive efficacy in new media of environmental education. On attitude efficacy, only one indicator is set for identity shaping, which has the highest score, but the lowest is 4.0, showing that the public number is still not obvious enough in terms of identifying with college student groups, influencing college students' emotions and attitudes. Based on this, this paper points out the problems of the current communication efficiency of environmental education new media through the analysis of the evaluation results and puts forward suggestions to improve its communication efficiency in this regard.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The currently disseminating severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic and limited capacities in outpatient rheumatological care, pose questions about possible alternatives to clinical visits, also in view of the digital revolution. It is unclear whether and to what extent patients with inflammatory rheumatic diseases are willing and in a position to deal with the new media, such as video consultation. METHODS: In the middle of the pandemic in May 2020 outpatients were surveyed using a standardized questionnaire in order to document their possibilities and willingness to participate in a video consultation. The treating physicians were asked whether carrying out a video consultation was considered to be a possible and meaningful option. RESULTS: Overall, 232 patients with inflammatory rheumatic diseases were surveyed (64.7% female, average age 54.0 ± 15.2 years), seropositive (n = 58) and seronegative (n = 51) rheumatoid arthritis (RA), spondyloarthritis (SpA, n = 77) including axial SpA (axSpA) and psoriatic arthropathy (PsA) as well as collagenosis and vasculitis (CoV, n = 46). The mean duration of disease was 5.5 ± 8.2 years, whereby in 75 patients (32.3%) it was the first diagnosis. The mean disease activity (0-10, subjective patient self-estimation) was 4.7 ± 2.5. Overall, 176 patients were basically aware of the possibility to carry out video consultations (75.9%) and 166 considered that they were technically capable to participate (71.6%) but only 131 were principally willing to participate (56.5%). Logistic regression analyses showed that the willingness to participate in video consultations decreased with increasing age (ß = 0.28, p = 0.01). According to the medical estimation video consultations were thought to be principally possible for 161 patients for technical reasons (69.4%) and for 127 for medical reasons (54.7%); however, a video consultation within the framework of treatment was only considered to be meaningful by the physician for 76 patients (32.8%). CONCLUSION: Not all patients can or want to participate in video consultations and the willingness declines with increasing age. The estimation of the meaningfulness of video consultations by physicians was also limited to approximately one third of the patients surveyed. This must be taken into consideration for the future planning of video consultations.

RESUMO

Public relations practices are widely accompanied by communication and persuasion. Especially today, when new media platforms provide direct accessibility, communication through PR has become more improved. This research focused on media organizations in the UAE, with a special consideration given to their audience content management. The researchers applied the case study method and selected a sample of n = 280 individuals from n = 12 media houses currently working in the UAE. The results obtained by structural equation modeling (SEM) revealed that media organizations in the UAE pay significant consideration to public relations practices (p > 0.000) and new media adoption (p > 0.000). Moreover, both these public relations practices (p > 0.000) and new media adoption were also found to significantly focus on two-way communication. Consequently, this two-way communication is significantly affecting content management among these organizations (p > 0.000), leading to the design, evaluation, and alteration of content that is acceptable and liked by their audiences. Thus, it has been concluded that media content and its management is not a simple task. Audience and communication are two basic factors that play an important role in this regard. Furthermore, the role of public relations practices also enhances communication and content management practices, leading to even more constructive outcomes.
