RESUMO

AIM: Aim The objective of this study was to understand the occupational protective behaviors of newly recruited nurses and explore the influencing factors. METHODS: A convenience sampling method was used to select newly recruited nurses in our hospital from July 2018 to November 2019. The survey was conducted using the general information questionnaire, work attitude scale (Wa), and occupational protective behavior scale. RESULTS: The total score of occupational protective behaviors of 150 newly enrolled nurses was 18.94 ± 3.59. There was a significant negative correlation between work attitude score and occupational protective behaviors (r = -0.324, p < 0.001). Multiple linear regression analysis showed that gender, previous participation in nursing skill-based competitions, experience of needlestick injuries before recruit, work attitude score, average daily sleep time (p < 0.05) were independent factors influencing occupational protective behaviors. CONCLUSIONS: The overall occupational protective awareness of newly enrolled nurses is relatively weak and needs to be further improved. The group's ability to improve occupational protective behaviors may be positively impacted through increased adaptability, improved sleep, active participation in nursing skill-based competitions, strengthening guidance and education on occupational protection.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: To explore the regional spontaneous neural activity and functional connectivity alterations of adjustment disorder (AD) in new recruits with in vivo resting-state functional MR (rs-fMRI). MATERIALS AND METHODS: Resting-state fMRI was performed in 31 recruits with AD and in 31 control recruits. Regional homogeneity (ReHo) was used to detect the regional synchronizing features of neuronal activations. Correlative analysis was performed to investigate the relationship between the Symptom Check List-90 (SCL-90) score and ReHo in regions with significant group differences. Regions with significant correlation were then defined as regions of interest (ROIs), and seed-ROI based whole-brain functional connectivity was performed. RESULTS: Compared with the controls, patients with AD had significantly lower ReHo in the left posterior cerebellar lobe, bilateral medial orbitofrontal cortex, bilateral caudate and left middle temporal gyrus, whereas regions with enhanced ReHo were confined to bilateral posterior cingulate gyrus/precuneus. Only the left posterior cerebellar lobe showed significant correlation between ReHo and the SCL-90 score, and was defined as the seed ROI. Decreased functional connectivity was found between the ROI and bilateral supplementary motor area. CONCLUSION: This study reveals abnormalities in recruits with AD in baseline brain function activities, which could further improve our understanding of the neural substrates of cognitive impairment in AD.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Hepatitis B is a disease that affects the liver and is caused by the hepatitis B virus (HBV). Hepatitis B is a serious public health problem in China. The objective of this study was to assess knowledge of and behaviours towards the transmission and prevention of hepatitis B of new military recruits in China. METHODS: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 800 new military recruits. A self-administered, structured questionnaire was used to collect information, and 727 questionnaires were returned completed. Analysis was performed using SPSS 18.0, and P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. RESULTS: Of the respondents, 665 (91.5%) were male and 62 (8.5%) were female. The mean age was 18.9 ± 1.7 years. A total of 608 respondents (83.6%) demonstrated poor knowledge and 119 (16.4%) adequate knowledge about HBV. Older age, female and higher education level were statistically associated with a higher mean knowledge score. Multivariate logistic regression showed that age (OR = 3.040, 95%CI 1.724-5.359, P < 0.001) and gender (OR = 1.791, 95%CI 1.325-2.421, P < 0.001) were significantly associated with appropriate behavioural practices towards prevention of HBV. CONCLUSION: Against a backdrop of high HBV prevalence in China, new military recruits had poor knowledge of HBV. New recruits need better education about HBV to assist in reducing and preventing HBV infection.

RESUMO

[Objective] To study the features in lower extremiy injuries of new recruits in the Chinese special military force during Basic Training Program, and supply scientific precautionary measures to reduce the military training injury.[Method]A special military force group had been chosen and the circumstance of military injuries in lower extremiy had been observed from Jan.to March in 2006.The population selected for study included all 281 new recruits of the unit.A questionnaire was designed to document all of the correlated information, and all injuried soldiers were examined and inquired about the case history. All data had been classified for analysis.[Result]In all 281 samples,75 cases occurred lower extremiy injuries(up to 26.69%).In all lower extremiy injuries,35 cases were leg injuries(up to 46.67%),17 cases were ankle injuries(up to 22.67%),11 cases were foot injuries(up to 14.67%).In all injuries,20 cases were acute injuries(up to 26.67%),55 cases were excess fatigue injuries(up to 73.33 %).In all injuries,38 cases were bone and joint injuries(up to 50.67%),37 cases were soft tissue injuries(up to 49.33%).The reasons for injuries were training field(l 8 cases),exercise overload(61 cases). In all training programs,64 cases were occured in 3 kilo run.[Conclusion]Lower extremiy injuries are common and frequently occurring illness. The features and methods of injuries are different and complicated. In this study, excess fatigue injuries caused by exercise overload were the most important. After comprehened the occurring rule,it should be emphasized on health propaganda.During basic military training,we should pay attention to soldiers' health condition.Training should be carried out step by step,to reduce the occurrence lower extremiy training injuries.

RESUMO

Objective: To study the interaction anxiousness status of new recruits in Chinese People's Armed Police Force. Methods: 981 recruits were assessed with Interaction Anxiousness Scale(IAS).Results: The average score of IAS of recruits was 42.93?7.35.There was higher social anxiety level in the recruits who graduated from junior middle school than those who graduated from senior high school. There were respectively 37.5% and 39.3% of recruits feeling uneasy when they were in contacting with strangers and talking with supervisors. There were 85.5% of recruits lacking confidence. Conclusion: The level of interaction anxiousness of new recruits was relatively high,it embodied contacting with strangers, talking with supervisors and lacking confidence.
