El propósito de esta investigación consistió en analizar la influencia del apoyo familiar (instrumental, económico, emocional) y la convivencia social en el bienestar personal de los adultos mayores en Monterrey, México. La hipótesis central de la investigación asumió la existencia de una asociación predictiva del apoyo familiar y la convivencia social con el bienestar personal de los adultos mayores. Se estudió la información de 952 individuos en un rango de edad de 65 a 100 años o más, se construyeron sumatorias de apoyo instrumental, económico, emocional; y una escala de convivencia social y otra de bienestar personal para examinar la información. Los resultados de la regresión indican una relación positiva predictiva del apoyo emocional y la convivencia social con el bienestar personal de los adultos mayores. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of family support (instrumental, economic, emotional) and social relations in the personal well-being of the elderly in Monterrey, Mexico. The central research hypothesis assumed the existence of a predictive association of family support and social interaction with the personal well-being of the elderly.
