RESUMO

We report a male patient with a ruptured persistent primitive trigeminal artery variant aneurysm that resulted in a fistula with the cavernous sinus. He presented with left conjunctival hyperemia and exophthalmos. Cerebral angiography revealed a left direct carotid-cavernous fistula; however, a balloon occlusion test determined that the source was actually a ruptured aneurysm located on the trunk of a persistent primitive trigeminal artery. Endovascular trapping of the persistent primitive trigeminal artery was performed, which resulted in fistula occlusion and symptom resolution.

An 85-year-old woman with a history of diabetes mellitus became aware of motor weakness of the left lower extremity. Magnetic resonance imaging showed multiple small cerebral infarctions in the right corona radiata. Angiography revealed persistent primitive trigeminal artery (PPTA) originating from the right internal carotid artery (ICA) and connecting to basilar artery, and the right ICA occluded distal to PPTA. Collateral blood circulation had developed, and sufficient collateral blood flow was expected. From these findings, the right ICA was considered to show stenosis due to atherosclerotic changes before occlusion. Conservative treatment was conducted with the transoral administration of rivaroxaban. It is important to correctly diagnose the anatomy and existence of an anomalous vessel in a stroke patient, not only when endovascular treatment is planned, but also for conservative medical treatment. Rapid and accurate radiological examinations facilitate safe and effective treatment.

Non-hydraulic root source signaling (nHRS) is a unique positive response to soil drying in the regulation of plant growth and development. However, it is unclear how the nHRS mediates the tradeoff between source and sink at the late growth stages and its adaptive mechanisms in primitive wheat. To address this issue, a root-splitting design was made by inserting solid partition in the middle of the pot culture to induce the occurrence of nHRS using four wheat cultivars (MO1 and MO4, diploid; DM22 and DM31, tetraploid) as materials. Three water treatments were designed as 1) both halves watered (CK), 2) holistic root system watered then droughted (FS), 3) one-half of the root system watered and half droughted (PS). FS and PS were designed to compare the role of the full root system and split root system to induce nHRS. Leaves samples were collected during booting and anthesis to compare the role of nHRS at both growth stages. The data indicated that under PS treatment, ABA concentration was significantly higher than FS and CK, demonstrating the induction of nHRS in split root design and nHRS decreased cytokinin (ZR) levels, particularly in the PS treatment. Soluble sugar and proline accumulation were higher in the anthesis stage as compared to the booting stage. POD activity was higher at anthesis, while CAT was higher at the booting stage. Increased ABA (nHRS) correlated with source-sink relationships and metabolic rate (i.e., leaf) connecting other stress signals. Biomass density showed superior resource acquisition and utilization capabilities in both FS and PS treatment as compared to CK in all plants. Our findings indicate that nHRS-induced alterations in phytohormones and their effect on source-sink relations were allied with the growth stages in primitive wheat.

Mammalian blastocyst formation involves the specification of the trophectoderm followed by the differentiation of the inner cell mass into embryonic epiblast and extra-embryonic primitive endoderm (PrE). During this time, the embryo maintains a window of plasticity and can redirect its cellular fate when challenged experimentally. In this context, we found that the PrE alone was sufficient to regenerate a complete blastocyst and continue post-implantation development. We identify an in vitro population similar to the early PrE in vivo that exhibits the same embryonic and extra-embryonic potency and can form complete stem cell-based embryo models, termed blastoids. Commitment in the PrE is suppressed by JAK/STAT signaling, collaborating with OCT4 and the sustained expression of a subset of pluripotency-related transcription factors that safeguard an enhancer landscape permissive for multi-lineage differentiation. Our observations support the notion that transcription factor persistence underlies plasticity in regulative development and highlight the importance of the PrE in perturbed development.

This paper addresses the issue of how to endow robots with motion skills, flexibility, and adaptability similar to human arms. It innovatively proposes a hybrid-primitive-frame-based robot skill learning algorithm and utilizes the policy improvement with a path integral algorithm to optimize the parameters of the hybrid primitive framework, enabling robots to possess skills similar to human arms. Firstly, the end of the robot is dynamically modeled using an admittance control model to give the robot flexibility. Secondly, the dynamic movement primitives are employed to model the robot's motion trajectory. Additionally, novel stiffness primitives and damping primitives are introduced to model the stiffness and damping parameters in the impedance model. The combination of the dynamic movement primitives, stiffness primitives, and damping primitives is called the hybrid primitive framework. Simulated experiments are designed to validate the effectiveness of the hybrid-primitive-frame-based robot skill learning algorithm, including point-to-point motion under external force disturbance and trajectory tracking under variable stiffness conditions.

Polish Konik remains one of the most important horse breeds in Poland. The primitive, native horses with a stocky body and mouse-like coat color are protected by a conservation program, while their Polish population consists of about 3,480 individuals, representing 16 dam and six sire lines. To define the population's genetic structure, mitochondrial DNA and Y chromosome sequence variables were identified. The mtDNA whole hypervariable region analysis was carried out using the Sanger sequencing method on 233 Polish Koniks belonging to all dam lines, while the Y chromosome analysis was performed with the competitive allele-specific PCR genotyping method on 36 horses belonging to all sire lines. The analysis of the mtDNA hypervariable region detected 47 SNPs, which assigned all tested horses to 43 haplotypes. Most dam lines presented more than one haplotype; however, five dam lines were represented by only one haplotype. The haplotypes were classified into six (A, B, E, J, G, R) recognized mtDNA haplogroups, with most horses belonging to haplogroup A, common among Asian horse populations. Y chromosome analysis allocated Polish Koniks in the Crown group, condensing all modern horse breeds, and divided them into three haplotypes clustering with coldblood breeds (28 horses), warmblood breeds (two horses), and Duelmener Pony (six horses). The clustering of all Wicek sire line stallions with Duelmener horses may suggest a historical relationship between the breeds. Additionally, both mtDNA and Y chromosome sequence variability results indicate crossbreeding before the studbooks closure or irregularities in the pedigrees occurred before the DNA testing introduction.

Ewing sarcoma (ES) and primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PNET) belong to the group of neoplasms called small round cell tumors. PNETs have been divided into central and peripheral. ES and peripheral PNETs arise from bones, soft tissues, or peripheral nerves. We present a case of hepatic ES/PNET in a healthy man that began four months before consultation with abdominal symptoms and weight loss. Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and laboratory tests revealed no notable findings. The abdominal tomography revealed an enlarged liver due to a solid lesion that involved all its segments with intravenous contrast enhancement and large areas of necrosis. It compressed and displaced neighboring structures. Core needle biopsy of the liver lesion was performed: small round cell neoplasm. Immunohistochemistry revealed negativity for CD45, CKA1/A3, chromogranin, synaptophysin, and cytokeratins CK7 and CK20. Dim CD56 expression and CD99, FLI-1, and NKX2 positivity. He underwent chemotherapy treatment with carboplatin and etoposide for 6 cycles with clinical improvement and tolerance. Control images showed reduction of the mass with involvement of the right hepatic lobe, involvement of the inferior vena cava, infiltration of the right adrenal gland and upper pole of the right kidney. He was referred to hepatobiliary surgery for surgical resection of the residual lesion. The patient rejected the proposed surgical procedure. Our objective is to highlight the clinical and histological diagnostic challenge of this entity that requires ruling out other clinical entities.


El sarcoma de Ewing (ES) y el tumor neuroectodérmico primitivo (PNET) pertenecen al grupo de neoplasias denominadas tumores de células pequeñas y redondas. Los PNET se dividen en centrales y periféricos. El ES y los PNET periféricos surgen del tejido óseo, de los tejidos blandos o nervios periféricos. Presentamos un caso de ES/PNET hepático en un hombre sano que inició cuatro meses antes de la consulta con síntomas abdominales y pérdida de peso. La endoscopia digestiva alta y la analítica no revelaron hallazgos relevantes. En la tomografía de abdomen se evidenció hígado aumentado de tamaño a expensas de lesión sólida que comprometía todos sus segmentos con realce al contraste endovenoso y grandes áreas de necrosis. Comprimía y desplazaba estructuras vecinas. Se realizó biopsia con aguja gruesa de la lesión hepática: neoplasia de células pequeñas y redondas. La inmunohistoquímica reveló negatividad para CD45, CKA1/A3, cromogranina, sinaptofisina y citoqueratinas CK7 y CK20. Expresión tenue de CD56 y positividad de CD99, FLI-1 y NKX2. Realizó tratamiento quimioterápico con carboplatino y etopósido por 6 ciclos con mejoría clínica y tolerancia al mismo. En imágenes de control se evidenció reducción de la masa con afección del lóbulo hepático derecho, compromiso de la vena cava inferior, infiltración de la glándula suprarrenal y polo superior del riñón derechos. Se remitió a cirugía hepatobiliar para resección quirúrgica de la lesión residual. El paciente rechazó el procedimiento quirúrgico. Nuestro objetivo es destacar el desafío diagnóstico clínico e histológico de esta entidad que obliga a descartar otras entidades clínicas.

The intricate anatomical structure and high cellular density of the myocardium complicate the bioengineering of perfusable vascular networks within cardiac tissues. In vivo neonatal studies highlight the key role of resident cardiac macrophages in post-injury regeneration and angiogenesis. Here, we integrate human pluripotent stem-cell-derived primitive yolk-sac-like macrophages within vascularized heart-on-chip platforms. Macrophage incorporation profoundly impacted the functionality and perfusability of microvascularized cardiac tissues up to 2 weeks of culture. Macrophages mitigated tissue cytotoxicity and the release of cell-free mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA), while upregulating the secretion of pro-angiogenic, matrix remodeling, and cardioprotective cytokines. Bulk RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) revealed an upregulation of cardiac maturation and angiogenesis genes. Further, single-nuclei RNA sequencing (snRNA-seq) and secretome data suggest that macrophages may prime stromal cells for vascular development by inducing insulin like growth factor binding protein 7 (IGFBP7) and hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) expression. Our results underscore the vital role of primitive macrophages in the long-term vascularization of cardiac tissues, offering insights for therapy and advancing heart-on-a-chip technologies.

Background: Primitive tracheal tumors represent a rare entity whose management, when unresectable, remains challenging. Primary aim of this study was to explore the survival and the factors influencing prognosis of patients with unresectable primitive tracheal tumor undergoing multimodal treatment integrating interventional bronchoscopy and radiotherapy. Methods: This retrospective cohort study was conducted at the University Hospital of Modena (Italy) over a 12-year period (January 2010 to January 2022) analyzing patients with unresectable primary tracheal tumor receiving interventional bronchoscopy treatment followed by radiotherapy. Survival analysis was conducted for the whole population and according to histology, development of metastasis, stent placement and the onset of disease relapse. The raw and independent association between potential risk factor and 5-year mortality and the reported complications were investigated. Results: A total of 12 patients were included. Five-year survival rate was 42% with a median survival time of 26.7 (interquartile range, 4.1-82) months. Survivors showed a higher prevalence of cystic-adenoid histology (80% vs. 14%), while patients who were dead at 5 years were those with a more advanced T (prevalence of T2: 71% vs. 0%) and a lower response to first line treatment (57% vs. 0%). Treatment complications accounted for stent dislocation (33%) and the onset of granuloma (18%), while no major side effects were reported. The presence of cystic-adenoid histology resulted in significantly improved 5-year survival rate (80% vs. 14%). The onset of distal metastasis, the occurrence of disease relapse and the placement of tracheal stent did not result significantly associated with lower survival. Among analysed variables, only the presence of cystic-adenoid histology resulted independently associated with survival (odds ratio =0.1, P=0.04). Conclusions: Multimodal treatment including interventional bronchoscopy and associated radiotherapy for unresectable primary tracheal tumors seems not burdened by significant complications and may provide benefits in terms of survival for those patients with cystic-adenoid histology.

KEY MESSAGE: 'Sikkim Primitive' maize landrace, unique for prolificacy (7-9 ears per plant) possesses unique genomic architecture in branching and inflorescence-related gene(s), and locus Zm00001eb365210 encoding glycosyltransferases was identified as the putative candidate gene underlying QTL (qProl-SP-8.05) for prolificacy. The genotype possesses immense usage in breeding high-yielding baby-corn genotypes. 'Sikkim Primitive' is a native landrace of North Eastern Himalayas, and is characterized by having 7-9 ears per plant compared to 1-2 ears in normal maize. Though 'Sikkim Primitive' was identified in the 1960s, it has not been characterized at a whole-genome scale. Here, we sequenced the entire genome of an inbred (MGUSP101) derived from 'Sikkim Primitive' along with three non-prolific (HKI1128, UMI1200, and HKI1105) and three prolific (CM150Q, CM151Q and HKI323) inbreds. A total of 942,417 SNPs, 24,160 insertions, and 27,600 deletions were identified in 'Sikkim Primitive'. The gene-specific functional mutations in 'Sikkim Primitive' were classified as 10,847 missense (54.36%), 402 non-sense (2.015%), and 8,705 silent (43.625%) mutations. The number of transitions and transversions specific to 'Sikkim Primitive' were 666,021 and 279,950, respectively. Among all base changes, (G to A) was the most frequent (215,772), while (C to G) was the rarest (22,520). Polygalacturonate 4-α-galacturonosyltransferase enzyme involved in pectin biosynthesis, cell-wall organization, nucleotide sugar, and amino-sugar metabolism was found to have unique alleles in 'Sikkim Primitive'. The analysis further revealed the Zm00001eb365210 gene encoding glycosyltransferases as the putative candidate underlying QTL (qProl-SP-8.05) for prolificacy in 'Sikkim Primitive'. High-impact nucleotide variations were found in ramosa3 (Zm00001eb327910) and zeaxanthin epoxidase1 (Zm00001eb081460) genes having a role in branching and inflorescence development in 'Sikkim Primitive'. The information generated unraveled the genetic architecture and identified key genes/alleles unique to the 'Sikkim Primitive' genome. This is the first report of whole-genome characterization of the 'Sikkim Primitive' landrace unique for its high prolificacy.

The author cites the prominence of theories that locate serious adult psychopathology in the preverbal infant's inability to formulate or represent traumatic experience. The work of two such authors, H. Levine and D. B. Stern, is briefly considered. The frame of reference for this investigation is that clinical and academic research findings are highly relevant to psychoanalytic theorizing. It is argued that when such findings are considered, a view of the infant with "primordial and unrepresented" states of mind has little evidence to support it. In fact, research findings summarized herein point to an opposite view: that of the "competent infant," one with highly accurate perceptual discrimination capacities and an innate ability to register and represent subjective experience in both procedural and declarative memory, even prenatally. Given the infant's competencies, it seems implausible to hold that representational deficits are at the heart of serious adult psychopathology, which is instead seen to be the result of defensive maneuvers against unknowable and unspeakable truth rather than the absence of a preverbal representational capacity. Current research findings seem to pose a significant challenge for psychoanalytic theories that espouse "primitive mental states"; "unrepresented," "unformulated," or "unsymbolized" experience; or "nonconscious" states.

Groups of Jungian analysts, which included the present authors, met to discuss four key theoretical concepts, each of which was felt to have problematic aspects if used unquestioningly in contemporary practice. The concepts were: The Primitive, Inner and Outer Worlds, Contrasexuality and Participation Mystique. The discussions were informed by clinical material and specific papers chosen for their critical evaluation of the topic. Four recorded transcripts were made, with permission, for further consideration of the relationship between contemporary Jungian theory and practice using the research method of thematic analysis. Three main themes were identified: Work of Analysis, Frames of Reference and Power Dynamics. The authors discuss the themes in relation to the overarching theme of power, understood as operating at conscious and unconscious levels. The artwork "Cold Dark Matter: An Exploded View" by Cornelia Parker is used as a metaphor in discussing the dynamic of challenging foundational concepts. The authors suggest that power dynamics are intrinsic in both the difficulty and the benefits of critically evaluating key concepts, binding together the theoretical (what informs us) with the clinical (what we do in the consulting room) as well as blowing apart pre-conceived notions of what underpins the analyst's work.


Les auteurs de cet article ont fait partie de groupes d'analystes jungiens qui se sont rencontrés pour débattre de quatre concepts théoriques fondamentaux, chacun de ces concepts étant perçu comme problématique si on l'utilise dans la pratique contemporaine sans se poser de questions. Ces concepts sont : primitif, mondes intérieur et extérieur, contra­sexualité et participation mystique. Les discussions ont été nourries par du matériel clinique et par des articles spécialement choisis pour leur évaluation critique du sujet traité. Quatre transcriptions enregistrées furent faites, avec l'accord des personnes concernées, pour une étude plus approfondie de la relation entre la théorie et la pratique jungienne contemporaine, en s'appuyant sur la méthode de recherche de l'analyse thématique. Trois thèmes furent identifiés : le travail d'analyse, les cadres de référence, et les dynamiques de pouvoir. Les auteurs débattent de ces thèmes en les reliant avec le thème fondamental du pouvoir, perçu comme fonctionnant aux niveaux conscient et inconscient. L'œuvre de l'artiste Cornelia Parker « Cold Dark Matter: An Exploded View ¼ est utilisée comme métaphore lorsqu'il est question de la dynamique de questionner des concepts fondamentaux. Les auteurs suggèrent que les dynamiques de pouvoir sont propres à la difficulté mais aussi aux bénéfices de cette remise en question, en reliant le théorique (ce qui nous informe) avec la clinique (ce que l'on fait dans la salle de consultation) et en faisant sauter les notions qui n'ont pas été questionnées, en ce qui concerne ce qui étaye le travail analytique.

Los conceptos eran: Primitivo, Mundos Interior y Exterior, Contrasexualidad y Participation Mystique. Los debates se basaron en material clínico y en artículos específicos elegidos para una evaluación crítica del tema. Se transcribieron con permiso cuatro grabaciones para un examen más detenido de la relación entre la teoría y la práctica junguiana contemporánea utilizando el método de investigación del análisis temático. Se identificaron tres temas: Trabajo Analítico, Marcos de Referencia y Dinámicas de Poder. Las autoras analizaron los temas en relación con el tema más amplio del poder, entendido como algo que opera a nivel consciente e inconsciente. La obra de arte "Cold Dark Matter: An Exploded View", de Cornelia Parker, fue utilizada como metáfora para discutir acerca de la dinámica de cuestionar los conceptos fundamentales. Se sugiere que las dinámicas de poder son intrínsecas tanto a la dificultad como a los beneficios de hacer esta tarea, ligando lo teórico (lo que nos informa) con lo clínico (lo que hacemos en la consulta), así como a desarmar nociones incuestionadas de aquello que sustenta el trabajo analítico.

Askin tumors are the rare malignancy of neuroectodermal origin of the thoracic wall. Its prevalence is more in younger age group who present with vague symptoms leading to delayed diagnosis. We hereby present a case report of complex management of large chest wall tumor in a young boy and review the literature of this entity.

Large-scale cell flow characterizes gastrulation in animal development. In amniote gastrulation, particularly in avian gastrula, a bilateral vortex-like counter-rotating cell flow, called 'polonaise movements', appears along the midline. Here, through experimental manipulations, we addressed relationships between the polonaise movements and morphogenesis of the primitive streak, the earliest midline structure in amniotes. Suppression of the Wnt/planar cell polarity (PCP) signaling pathway maintains the polonaise movements along a deformed primitive streak. Mitotic arrest leads to diminished extension and development of the primitive streak and maintains the early phase of the polonaise movements. Ectopically induced Vg1, an axis-inducing morphogen, generates the polonaise movements, aligned to the induced midline, but disturbs the stereotypical cell flow pattern at the authentic midline. Despite the altered cell flow, induction and extension of the primitive streak are preserved along both authentic and induced midlines. Finally, we show that ectopic axis-inducing morphogen, Vg1, is capable of initiating the polonaise movements without concomitant PS extension under mitotic arrest conditions. These results are consistent with a model wherein primitive streak morphogenesis is required for the maintenance of the polonaise movements, but the polonaise movements are not necessarily responsible for primitive streak morphogenesis. Our data describe a previously undefined relationship between the large-scale cell flow and midline morphogenesis in gastrulation.

A bilateral body plan is predominant throughout the animal kingdom. Bilaterality of amniote embryos becomes recognizable as midline morphogenesis begins at gastrulation, bisecting an embryonic field into the left and right sides. Soon after, left-right asymmetry also starts. While a series of laterality genes expressed after the left-right compartmentalization has been extensively studied, the laterality patterning prior to and during midline morphogenesis has remained unclear. Here, through a biophysical quantification in a high spatial and temporal resolution, applied to a chick model system, we show that a large-scale bilateral counter-rotating cell flow, termed as 'polonaise movements', display left-right asymmetries in early gastrulation. This cell movement starts prior to the formation of the primitive streak, which is the earliest midline structure, and earlier than expression of laterality genes. The cell flow speed and vorticity unravel the location and timing of the left-right asymmetries. The bilateral cell flow exhibited a Left side asymmetry at the beginning, but a transition towards Right dominance. Mitotic arrest that diminishes primitive streak formation resulted in changes in the bilateral flow pattern, but the Right dominance persisted. Our data indicate that the left-right asymmetry in amniote gastrula becomes detectable prior to the point when the asymmetric regulation of the laterality signals at the node leads to the left-right patterning. More broadly, our results suggest that physical processes can play an unexpected but significant role in influencing left-right laterality during embryonic development.

A novel auxetic structure applicable to airless tire spokes is designed based on the primitive-type triply periodic minimal surface (P-TPMS) to have higher stiffness through deformation under compressive force. For becoming higher stiffness by deformation, an unit cell of auxetic structure is proposed and its characteristics according to design parameters are studied. Based on the parametric study, a rotated primitive-type auxetic structure (RPAS) is designed, and the deformative behaviors of an airless tire with the RPAS spokes are compared with a generally used honeycomb spoke. Simulation and experiment results show that the designed RPAS tire exhibits more stable behavior through higher rigidity depending on the deformation state when compressed on flat ground and obstacles. This variable stiffness characteristic of RPAS tires can be advantageous for shock absorption and prevention of large local deformations. Also, the manufacturability of the designed auxetic structure is evaluated using real rubber-based additive manufacturing processes for practical application in the tire manufacturing industry.

G protein pathway suppressor 2 (GPS2) has been shown to play a pivotal role in human and mouse definitive erythropoiesis in an EKLF-dependent manner. However, whether GPS2 affects human primitive erythropoiesis is still unknown. This study demonstrated that GPS2 positively regulates erythroid differentiation in K562 cells, which have a primitive erythroid phenotype. Overexpression of GPS2 promoted hemin-induced hemoglobin synthesis in K562 cells as assessed by the increased percentage of benzidine-positive cells and the deeper red coloration of the cell pellets. In contrast, knockdown of GPS2 inhibited hemin-induced erythroid differentiation of K562 cells. GPS2 overexpression also enhanced erythroid differentiation of K562 cells induced by cytosine arabinoside (Ara-C). GPS2 induced hemoglobin synthesis by increasing the expression of globin and ALAS2 genes, either under steady state or upon hemin treatment. Promotion of erythroid differentiation of K562 cells by GPS2 mainly relies on NCOR1, as knockdown of NCOR1 or lack of the NCOR1-binding domain of GPS2 potently diminished the promotive effect. Thus, our study revealed a previously unknown role of GPS2 in regulating human primitive erythropoiesis in K562 cells.

Anatomic variations of intracranial arteries are of paramount importance in neurosurgery and interventional radiology. Three extremely rare arterial variants were found by observing the intracranial vascular anatomy on the magnetic resonance angiography files of a 56-year-old female patient. Firstly, on the left side of the vertebrobasilar axis, a persistent primitive lateral basilovertebral anastomosis was found uniting the left anterior inferior and posterior inferior cerebellar arteries; further, the left anterior inferior cerebellar artery looped above the nerves of the internal auditory canal. Secondly, the right posterior inferior cerebellar artery was shown to be leaving the vertebral artery and had a distal fenestration of the telovelotonsillar segment. Such cases of distal fenestrated posterior inferior cerebellar artery are rare. Thirdly, a partly duplicated anterior communicating artery was also found in the anterior circulation. In conclusion, magnetic resonance angiography helps distinguish and detail discrete and delicate rare arterial variants.

BACKGROUND: The avian node is the equivalent of the amphibian Spemann's organizer, as indicated by its ability to induce a secondary axis, cellular contribution, and gene expression, whereas the node of the mouse, which displays limited inductive capacities, was suggested to be a part of spatially distributed signaling. Furthermore, the structural identity of the mouse node is subject of controversy, while little is known about equivalent structures in other mammals. RESULTS: We analyzed the node and emerging organizer in the pig using morphology and the expression of selected organizer genes prior to and during gastrulation. The node was defined according to the "four-quarter model" based on comparative consideration. The node of the pig displays a multilayered, dense structure that includes columnar epithelium, bottle-like cells in the dorsal part, and mesenchymal cells ventrally. Expression of goosecoid (gsc), chordin, and brachyury, together with morphology, reveal the consecutive emergence of three distinct domains: the gastrulation precursor domain, the presumptive node, and the mature node. Additionally, gsc displays a ventral expression domain prior to epiblast epithelialization. CONCLUSION: Our study defines the morphological and molecular context of the emerging organizer equivalent in the pig and suggests a sequential development of its function.

Ewing's Sarcoma family of tumors is a group of small round tumor cells. Ewing's sarcoma majority occurs in bone, accounts about 10 % of primary bone tumors. Extraskeletal Ewing's sarcoma (ESS) is unusual and commonly seen in trunk, paravertebral, and chest wall region. It is rarely seen in head and neck region, accounting to 2-3 %. In head and neck region, ESS is seen in nasal or oral cavities, sinuses. EES originating in the larynx is very rare. Here, we report a 22 years old female having the complaints of change in voice and noisy breathing who was diagnosed as a case of EES of supraglottis. As the disease progressed during the time of diagnosis, she had to undergo emergency tracheostomy. The disease was inoperable so she received neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by radiation followed by adjuvant chemotherapy. At present she is symptomatically better. The aim of this report is to put forward the rare site of Ewing's Sarcoma and highlighting the early diagnosis in suspected case with IHC, providing effective multimodality treatment.
