RESUMO

As a pivotal transition metal oxide, manganese dioxide (MnO2) has garnered significant attention owing to its abundant reserves, diverse crystal structures and exceptional performance. Nanosizing MnO2 results in smaller particle sizes, larger specific surface areas, optimized material characteristics, and expanded application possibilities. With the burgeoning research efforts in this field, MnO2 has emerged as a promising nanomaterial for tumor diagnosis and therapy. The distinctive properties of MnO2 in regulating the tumor microenvironment (TME) have attracted considerable interest, leading to a rapid growth in research on MnO2-based nanomaterials for tumor diagnosis and treatment. Additionally, MnO2 nanomaterials are also gradually showing up in the regulation of chronic inflammatory diseases. In this review, we mainly summarized the recent advancements in various MnO2 nanomaterials for tumor diagnosis and therapy. Furthermore, we discuss the current challenges and future directions in the development of MnO2 nanomaterials, while also envisaging their potential for clinical translation.

In recent years, live streaming commerce (LSC) has become a popular research topic. However, current studies on LSC are relatively insufficient, and analyses have generally focused on its specific aspects, lacking a comprehensive and systematic perspective. Hence, this study utilises CiteSpace to undertake a visual bibliometric analysis aimed at delineating the knowledge framework and evolution of LSC and indicates future research directions to provide a comprehensive picture of the development of this dynamic field over the past six years. The results show that LSC is a thriving subject with several growing annual publications. Additionally, a strong collaboration exists between institutions and authors. Further, 'influence', 'consumer behaviour' and 'consumer purchase intention' are more popular in this domain and have assumed a leading position in recent research. Moreover, novel research trajectories have emerged, indicating interdisciplinary integration within the field. This study is innovative as it combines live streaming with commerce, analyses six years of literature, and builds an accurate and comprehensive knowledge framework within this domain. By identifying current gaps, this study contributes to the literature by addressing prior study limitations, enriching the knowledge base, providing crucial research directions for future exploration, and inspiring scholars to efficiently find research topics.

BACKGROUD: According to the 2020 statistics from the World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), it is projected that there will be over 1 million new cases of gastric cancer (GC) patients worldwide in 2020, resulting in approximately 770 000 deaths. Gastric cancer ranks fifth in terms of incidence rate and forth in death rate among malignant tumors. Despite advancements in early diagnostic techniques, the incidence of GC has exhibited a marginal decline; nevertheless, the mortality rate remains elevated for advanced inoperable patients with no currently available efficacious treatment options. RECENT FINDING: Chinese medicine (CM) has emerged as an efficacious treatment for GC, gradually gaining acceptance and widespread usage in China. It exhibits distinctive advantages in the prevention and treatment of metastasis. CM and natural medicine possess the ability to elicit antitumor effects by augmenting immune cell population, enhancing immune cell activity, and improving the tumor immune microenvironment. CMs and natural remedies encompass a diverse range of types, characterized by multiple targets, pathways, and extensive pharmacological effects. Consequently, they have become a prominent research area among oncologists worldwide. Numerous studies have demonstrated that CM and natural medicine can directly or indirectly enhance innate immune system components (including macrophages, natural killer cells, and myeloid suppressor cells), adaptive immune system elements (such as T lymphocytes and regulatory T cells), relevant cytokines (e.g., IL-2, IL-4, IL-10, TNF-α), and PD-1/PD-L1 axis regulation, thereby bolstering the cytotoxicity of immune cells against tumor cells. CONCLUSIONS: This ultimately leads to an improved tumor immune microenvironment facilitating superior antitumor efficacy. This paper critically examines the role of CM and natural medicine in regulating immunotherapy for GC, aiming to establish a new theoretical framework for the clinical treatment and prevention of gastric cancer within the realm of CM.

Background Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a rare, autoantibody neuromuscular disorder characterized by fatigable weakness. Real-world evidence based on administrative and structured datasets regarding MG may miss important details related to the clinical encounter. Examination of free-text clinical progress notes has the potential to illuminate aspects of MG care. Objective The primary objective was to examine and characterize neurologist progress notes in the care of individuals with MG regarding the prevalence of documentation of clinical subtypes, antibody status, symptomatology, and MG deteriorations, including exacerbations and crises. The secondary objectives were to categorize MG deteriorations into practical, objective states as well as examine potential sources of clinical inertia in MG care. Methods We performed a retrospective, cross-sectional analysis of de-identified neurologist clinical notes from 2017 to 2022. A qualitative analysis of physician descriptions of MG deteriorations and a discussion of risks in MG care (risk for adverse effects, risk for clinical decompensation, etc.) was performed. Results Of the 3,085 individuals with MG, clinical subtypes and antibody status identified included gMG (n = 400; 13.0%), ocular MG (n = 253; 8.2%), MG unspecified (2,432; 78.8%), seropositivity for acetylcholine receptor antibody (n = 441; 14.3%), and MuSK antibody (n = 29; 0.9%). The most common gMG manifestations were dysphagia (n = 712; 23.0%), dyspnea (n = 626; 20.3%), and dysarthria (n = 514; 16.7%). In MG crisis patients, documentation of difficulties with MG standard therapies was common (n = 62; 45.2%). The qualitative analysis of MG deterioration types includes symptom fluctuation, symptom worsening with treatment intensification, MG deterioration with rescue therapy, and MG crisis. Qualitative analysis of MG-related risks included the toxicity of new therapies and concern for worsening MG because of changing therapies. Conclusions This study of neurologist progress notes demonstrates the potential for real-world evidence generation in the care of individuals with MG. MG patients suffer fluctuating symptomatology and a spectrum of clinical deteriorations. Adverse effects of MG therapies are common, highlighting the need for effective, less toxic treatments.

Falls have become an important public health problem that seriously affects the quality of survival of older adults and are a major cause of fractures, death, and reduced quality of life. With the advent of an aging society, the social, economic, and medical burdens of falls in older adults are increasing. Currently, there is a lack of effective means to prevent falls in older adults, and traditional health education and clinical interventions are not effective. It is urgent to find a safe and effective training method that can improve balance function and is suitable for the elderly. Low-intensity blood flow restriction training (BFRT) is an emerging training modality that, by restricting blood flow to the limbs and combining it with low-intensity exercise, can effectively improve muscle mass, aerobic capacity, and bone density, and has been shown to enhance somatic function in older adults. However, the effectiveness and specific mechanisms of BFRT in preventing falls in older adults are unclear. Based on recent research progress, this paper explores the possibility of BFRT in preventing falls in older adults by analyzing its positive effects on muscle mass, balance function, and cognitive function, the risk factors of falling in the elderly are summarized, as well as its potential role in reducing fall risk factors. It aims to provide new thinking for academia and clinical practice and to provide a scientific basis for reducing the risk of falls in the elderly.

Background and Aims: Childbirth is a multifaceted and distressing event that can profoundly affect mothers' psychological and physical well-being. Noninvasive interventions like music therapy have been explored to improve labor outcomes by decreasing pain and anxiety levels, promoting relaxation, and enhancing maternal-fetal health. This study aimed to investigate the effect of Iranian traditional music on cervical dilation and labor progress in the active stage of term pregnancy. Methods: This study was a nonrandomized controlled trial that included pregnant women between 20 and 35, with a gravidity of two or three. Participants were assigned to either the intervention group, which received traditional Iranian music therapy during labor, or the control group, which received routine care without the music intervention. The primary outcome was the effect of music therapy on cervical dilation from 4 cm to full dilation (10 cm) during term pregnancy. The secondary outcomes included changes in fetal heart rate, maternal anxiety, and pain scores before and after the intervention. Statistical analyses were performed using appropriate methods, and the results were reported using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: The mean age of the intervention group was 28.32 ± 6.13 years, and that of the control group was 28.31 ± 3.47 years (p = 0.890). The median duration of labor was not significantly different during the active stage, with 120 min in the intervention group and 137 min in the control group (p = 0.505). However, significant differences were observed in fetal heart rate, anxiety score, and pain score changes before and after the intervention between the two groups (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Using traditional Iranian music therapy as a noninvasive intervention during labor can potentially improve maternal and fetal outcomes by reducing anxiety and pain perception. Further research is needed to explore the potential benefits of traditional music therapy in clinical settings.

In the face of the increasingly serious background of overweight and obesity rates among adolescents in China, mindfulness, as an emerging therapeutic approach, has shown its unique effectiveness. This article reviewed the research progress of mindfulness in the intervention of adolescent obesity, summarized its effects on improving physiological and psychological indicators, and listed the different options for implementing mindfulness therapy. These studies supported the preliminary effectiveness of mindfulness in the intervention of adolescent obesity, providing a basis for mindfulness to become a new approach for obesity intervention in the future.

This paper analyzes the relationship between Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), economic growth, and institutional quality to maintain sustainable energy efficiency in BRICS. The objective of our study is to decompose which elements collectively impact the uptake of sustainable energy practices. A comprehensive dataset and an advanced econometric model Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) are employed to investigate the dynamics at play. It has been done through comprehensive research to understand these FDI mechanisms driving the sustainable energy transition, bringing forth the fundamental role of strong institutions and sustained growth. In contrast to existing models, the analysis incorporates institutional quality, providing a fresh perspective on the impact of this factor on FDI and economic development in the BRICS economies. Findings show the crucial position FDI holds in developing sustainable energy and the institutional structure's effectiveness in accomplishing the current objectives. We have kept the position of economic growth, which serves as the essential driver for environmentally friendly use of energy resources. Our results have shown that FDI in sustainable energy is a requisite for economic growth improvement and the need for such progress to be supported by effective institutions to facilitate intra-regional investments.

Nanozymes are nanoscale materials with enzyme-mimicking catalytic properties. Nanozymes can mimic the mechanism of natural enzyme molecules. By means of advanced chemical synthesis technology, the size, shape, and surface characteristics of nanozymes can be accurately regulated, and their catalytic properties can be customized according to the specific need. Nanozymes can mimic the function of natural enzymes, including catalase (CAT), superoxide dismutase (SOD), and glutathione peroxidase (GPx), to scavenge reactive oxygen species (ROS). Reported findings have shown that nanozymes have the advantages of excellent stability, low cost, and adjustable catalytic activity, thereby showing great potential and broad prospects in the application of disease treatment. Herein, we reviewed the advances in the application of nanozymes in the treatment of joint diseases. The common clinical manifestations of joint diseases include joint pain, swelling, stiffness, and limited mobility. In severe cases, joint diseases may lead to joint destruction, deformity, and functional damage, entailing crippling socioeconomic burdens. ROS is a product of oxidative stress. Increased ROS in the joints can induce macrophage M1 type polarization, which in turn induces and aggravates arthritis. Therefore, the key to the treatment of joint diseases lies in ROS scavenging and increasing oxygen (O2) content. Nanozymes have demonstrated promising application potential in the treatment of joint diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and gouty arthritis. However, how to ensure their biosafety, reduce the toxicity, and increase enzyme activity remains the main challenge in current research. Precise control of the chemical composition, size, shape, and surface modification of nanomaterials is the main development direction for the future.

Medical polyurethanes have emerged as a leading choice for biomedical applications owing to their exceptional biocompatibility and good physical and mechanical properties. Catalysts play a crucial role as additives in the synthesis of medical polyurethanes, enhancing synthesis efficiency and material properties. However, the catalysts used may affect the biocompatibility of polyurethanes and pose potential harm to human health. This review encapsulates the latest findings regarding the catalysts employed in the synthesis of medical polyurethane materials and their biotoxicity. Initially, we reviewed the prevalent types of catalysts used in the synthesis of medical polyurethane materials and described their distinctive characteristics. Subsequently, our focus shifted to exploring the potential biotoxicity associated with these catalysts. Finally, we provided a forward-looking perspective and recommendations for the future trajectory of catalyst selection in the synthesis of medical polyurethane materials. By acquiring a more profound understanding of the properties and biotoxicity of catalysts used in the synthesis of medical polyurethane materials, and by uncovering existing issues and challenges, we can better guide the design of medical polyurethane materials. This, in turn, enables us to chart the course for future development and ultimately enhance the biocompatibility and safety profiles of medical polyurethane materials. Such advancements will promote the continued development and application of medical polyurethane materials in clinical settings.

BACKGROUND: One of the main illnesses in the globe that causes impairment and death in people is stroke. In the globe today, it ranks as the second leading cause of death and the leading cause of death in China. OBJECTIVE: This paper analyses into the critical role of risk perception in developing individual awareness of stroke risk and encouraging proactive preventive health behaviors, essential for effective primary stroke prevention strategies and reduced stroke incidence. It discusses the concept of risk perception, the content and dimensions of global stroke assessment tools, and their application status, aiming to provide insights for their development and intervention research. METHODS: Risk perception encompasses subjective assessments of stroke likelihood and severity, influenced by personal experiences, knowledge of risk factors, beliefs about prevention effectiveness, and emotional responses. Global stroke assessment tools, like the Framingham Stroke Risk Score and CHA2DS2-VASc Score, evaluate stroke risk based on factors such as age, gender, blood pressure, and cholesterol levels. In order to improve risk perception and proactive health management and lower the burden of strokes, the paper assesses the advantages and disadvantages of these tools and makes recommendations for improving accessibility, customizing interventions, running educational campaigns, promoting multidisciplinary collaboration, and integrating technology. RESULTS: By combining the research tools of stroke risk perception, it is found that the evaluation tools are mostly single-dimensional evaluation tools centered on the two dimensions of onset possibility and susceptibility. CONCLUSION: Some scholars have developed multi-dimensional evaluation tools, but the evaluation population is relatively limited, and the evaluation system lacks comprehensiveness and systematization.

Heart failure (HF) has a severe impact on public health development due to high morbidity and mortality and is associated with imbalances in cardiac immunoregulation. Macrophages, a major cell population involved in cardiac immune response and inflammation, are highly heterogeneous and polarized into M1 and M2 types depending on the microenvironment. M1 macrophage releases inflammatory factors and chemokines to activate the immune response and remove harmful substances, while M2 macrophage releases anti-inflammatory factors to inhibit the overactive immune response and promote tissue repair. M1 and M2 restrict each other to maintain cardiac homeostasis. The dynamic balance of M1 and M2 is closely related to the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) yin-yang theory, and the imbalance of yin and yang will result in a pathological state of the organism. Studies have confirmed that TCM produces positive effects on HF by regulating macrophage polarization. This review describes the critical role of macrophage polarization in inflammation, fibrosis, angiogenesis and electrophysiology in the course of HF, as well as the potential mechanism of TCM regulation of macrophage polarization in preventing and treating HF, thereby providing new ideas for clinical treatment and scientific research design of HF.

Plant-parasitic nematode research in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region faces significant challenges rooted in a need for proper assembly, diversity, and a unified and purpose-driven framework. This led to exacerbating their detrimental effects on crop production. This systematic review addresses the current situation and challenges that require targeted interventions to sustainably manage plant-parasitic nematodes and reduce their detrimental impact on agriculture production in the MENA region. We analyzed the nematode-related research conducted within the region over the past three decades to assess available resources and promote diverse research approaches beyond basic morphology-focused surveys. We show that crops are attacked by a diverse spectrum of plant-parasitic nematodes that exceed the global economic threshold limits. In particular, Meloidogyne species exceed the threshold limit by 8 - 14-fold, with a 100% frequency of occurrence in the collected soil samples, posing a catastrophic threat to crop production and the economy. We highlight detrimental agriculture practices in the MENA region, such as transferring soil from established fields to barren land, which enhances the dissemination of plant-parasitic nematodes, disrupting soil ecology and causing significant agricultural challenges in newly cultivated areas. Looking into the behavior of farmers, raising awareness must be accompanied by available solutions, as more practical alternatives are needed to gain the confidence of the farmers. We propose integrating microbial-based products and soil development practices in hygienic farming as resilient and sustainable solutions for nematode management. Increased emphasis is required to diversify the nematode-related research areas to bridge the gaps and facilitate the transition from fundamental knowledge to practical solutions. A cohesive network of nematologists and collaboration with national and international entities is crucial for exchanging knowledge related to legislation against invasive species.

Endocrine tumors like thyroid carcinoma are becoming more frequent. No clinically informative predictors were found. Thus, effective gene networks and representative biomarkers can illuminate thyroid cancer prevention molecular mechanisms. TBC1D4 is an activating protein molecule that plays an important role in regulating cell metabolism and signal transduction. The aim of this study was to investigate the expression characteristics of TBC1D4 activating protein molecules and identify key module genes that prevent thyroid cancer progression. GSE65144 data were downloaded from GEO. "limma" in R found DEGs with a false discovery rate < 0.05 and a log2 fold change <1. WGCNA builds gene co-expression networks, screens key modules, and filters hub genes. Overlapping genes become hub genes. Hub genes underwent GO and KEGG pathway enrichment analysis. We used Lasso to extract hub gene expression results' distinctive genes. Key genes. GEPIA database determined expression and survival impact. A total of 3220 DEGs. Thyroid cancer was mostly associated with darkred, darkturquoise, and green modules. Venn screened 639 hub genes. Cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction was the primary KEGG enrichment. Hub genes were 14. Finally, ARHGAP6, TBC1D4, and TC2N were important genes. Through gene screening and functional enrichment analysis, we identified a group of genes related to TBC1D4 activating protein and constructed the corresponding protein interaction network.

Background and Objective: Hormone receptor-positive/human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative (HR+/HER2-) breast cancer (BC) is the most prevalent subtype of all BCs. The primary treatment modality is endocrine therapy (ET). Traditional adjuvant ET for early-stage breast cancer (EBC) has undergone extensive exploration and is relatively well-established. However, patients at high risk of recurrence may still experience early relapse, necessitating consideration of intensified adjuvant ET to reduce recurrence risk. The objective of this narrative review is to examine various strategies for intensifying adjuvant ET in EBC, thoroughly analyze key clinical studies, and summarize the most effective treatment approaches supported by current evidence-based medicine. Furthermore, it addresses unresolved challenges that necessitate further refinement and investigation. Methods: As of March 2024, a comprehensive literature search, compilation, and analysis were conducted across PubMed, Baidu Scholar, ClinicalTrials.gov, and relevant academic conferences. Key Content and Findings: There are numerous methods to intensify adjuvant ET: (I) combining ovarian function suppression (OFS) to reduce estrogen levels in the body and induce a state of artificial menopause to enhance the efficacy of ET; (II) individual extension of the duration of ET based on patients' varying risks of recurrence, with high-risk patients covering two peak recurrence periods; (III) the addition of cyclin-dependent kinase 4/6 inhibitor (CDK4/6i) can significantly extend invasive disease-free survival and reduce the risk of recurrence, serving as the main intensive treatment for high-risk patients; (IV) combination with bone-modifying drugs (BMD) can significantly reduce rates of bone metastasis and slightly enhance prognosis but is not commonly used in adjuvant settings; (V) combined with poly(adenosine diphosphate-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitors, current studies only show a trend towards benefit in HR+ patients with germline BRCA1/2 mutations; more data are still needed to support its clinical benefit. This narrative review examines various strategies for intensifying adjuvant ET in EBC, critically evaluates key clinical studies, and summarizes the most effective treatment approaches supported by current evidence-based medicine. Furthermore, it addresses unresolved challenges that necessitate further refinement and investigation. Conclusions: In the context where traditional adjuvant ET is relatively well-established, the emergence of novel ET has notably addressed issues of endocrine resistance more effectively. Various intensified adjuvant ET has shown potential in further reducing recurrence risk among high-risk patients. However, additional research and time are essential to determine the optimal approaches for intensified adjuvant ET.

Monitoring treatment progress through progress feedback is recognized for its efficacy and demonstrated value. However, its integration and utilization within treatments still need to be improved. Insufficient understanding exists regarding the factors within geriatric mental healthcare influencing the adoption of progress feedback. This study aimed to explore the determinants impacting the utilization of progress feedback within outpatient geriatric mental healthcare, specifically focusing on age-related perspectives and patient group characteristics. This qualitative investigation employed semi-structured interviews involving clinicians (N = 14) selected from four outpatient geriatric teams. The findings revealed both inhibiting and facilitating perspectives concerning progress feedback. Clinicians preferred user-friendly, specific, and tailored measures. Challenges included organizational support, integration in work processes, training, and the digital progress feedback system. Age-related perspectives such as older adults' diverse issues, limited digital skills, and cognitive problems hindered implementation, particularly in the oldest generation of older patients. In outpatient geriatric mental healthcare, many factors and attitudes influencing progress feedback align with those observed in adult psychiatry literature. Moreover, this study highlights specific age-related factors that impede the adoption and implementation of progress feedback, shedding light on the specific barriers within this context.

Background: Knee replacement surgery can significantly improve the quality of life of patients with severe knee osteoarthritis. Equitable access to knee replacement surgery is important to ensure that everyone, regardless of their socioeconomic status or geographical location, have fair and timely access. Objectives: The aim of our study was to (1) describe the health equity profile and quality of life of patients awaiting knee replacement at a single academic hospital in South Africa and to (2) describe the association between these health equity factors and the waiting time. Method: A cross-sectional survey and retrospective record review of patients awaiting knee replacement was conducted using the PROGRESS-Plus health equity framework. Chi-square statistics were used to calculate association between health equity factors and the waiting time. Results: Three-hundred and two (N = 302) patients (77% female; mean age 67 years) participated, of whom one in three patients waited 5 years or longer for surgery. Elderly patients (> 70 years) and patients from lower socio-economic background were less likely to have equitable access to surgery. Conclusion: The current screening protocol for knee replacement surgery in the public health care sector does not provide equitable access to surgery. A more holistic screening approach alongside selective surgical prioritisation and rehabilitation could reduce the waiting list and facilitate equitable access to care. Clinical implications: Health equity factors such as socioeconomic status, age, and other patient characteristics such as life roles and employability should be taken into consideration when screening patients for elective knee replacement waiting lists.

INTRODUCTION: In psychotherapy, having a reliable tracking tool is vital for effective treatment. We have validated the Danish version of the 'Overall Depression Severity and Impairment Scale' (ODSIS), which is used in the Unified Protocol for Emotional Disorders (UP) and other cognitive behavioural therapies. This five-item self-rating scale is expected to correspond closely to the gold-standard Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II), but also to self-rating scales addressing daily functioning and well-being. METHODS: Internal consistency is assessed using Cronbach's alpha and McDonald's omega. Criterion validity is explored through Pearson's correlation coefficient with BDI-II, the Work and Social Adjustment Scale (WSAS), the Five-Item World Health Organization Well-Being Index (WHO-5) and scatter plots, and an optimal cut-off score is determined using a receiver operating characteristic curve. The study included 340 respondents: 234 from a recent clinical trial, 56 psychiatric patients from inpatient/outpatient units and 50 healthy volunteers. RESULTS: ODSIS demonstrates strong internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha: 0.887-0.956, McDonald's omega: 0.888-0.957). Correlations with BDI-II, WSAS and WHO-5 highlight its strong criterion validity (BDI-II: 0.847, WSAS: 0.751, WHO-5: 0.771). The optimal cut-off score (> 7.5) for detecting depression shows great sensitivity (0.862) and specificity (0.731). CONCLUSION: The Danish version of ODSIS proves to be a reliable instrument for quantification of a combination of depression level and functional impairment from the symptoms. Its high correlation with established BDI-II makes it a brief and handy tool for repeated measurement in clinical and research settings.

BACKGROUND: The purpose of the present study was to retrospectively compare the clinical and radiological outcomes of arthroscopic suture anchor fixation and open screw fixation for acute large anterior glenoid rim fractures. METHODS: This study enrolled patients with acute large anterior glenoid rim fractures treated with arthroscopic suture anchor fixation (group A) or open screw fixation (group O) from January 2013 to June 2020 with a minimum follow-up of>2 years. The Subjective Shoulder Value (SSV), American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) score, Rowe score, Constant score, range of motion (ROM), recurrent instability rate, and complications were recorded as clinical results. The quality of the postoperative reduction, reconstructed glenoid sizes, rate of fracture healing, and progression of osteoarthritis (OA) were evaluated as radiological outcomes. RESULTS: This retrospective study included 66 patients, including 37 in Group A and 29 in Group O with a mean follow-up of 46.9 (range, 24.3-94.2) months and a mean patient age of 46.8 (range, 21-69) years. No significant differences were found in the clinical outcomes between the two groups. A significant ROM limitation in all planes was found in both groups and group O showed more limitations in external rotation at the side (ERs) (18° vs. 10°, P = 0.002). The reduction quality was better in group O (P < 0.001). However, there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of reconstructed glenoid size (101.6% ± 4.6% vs. 100.6% ± 7.1%, P = 0.460) and the rate of OA progression (26.9% vs. 20%, P = 0.525). CONCLUSION: Arthroscopic suture anchor fixation and open screw fixation achieved similar clinical outcomes, reconstructed glenoid sizes, and OA progression in patients with acute large anterior glenoid rim fractures. Arthroscopic suture fixation showed a poorer quality of reduction but less ERs limitations.
