Abstract Objective. To analyze AAQ-II psychometric properties on the Ecuadorian people. Method. In this study, the psychometric properties of the Acceptance and Action Questionnaire-II (AAQ-II) were evaluated in an Ecuadorian population. A total of 450 people between 18 and 53 years of age, 46.7% of whom were women, participated. Results. The confirmatory factor analysis found a three-dimensional structure: memory avoidance, emotional avoidance, and lack of self-control. An analysis of invariance between men and women revealed that the scale is invariant by sex. The scale was found to have good internal consistency (α = .90). The validity of the AAQ-II as a tool to assess experiential avoidance in an Ecuadorian adult population is discussed.

A paper reporting the psychometric properties of the Spanish Fear of COVID-19 Scale (FCV-19S) among Colombian physicians was recently published in the International Journal of Mental Health and Addiction. Although we welcome the translation and validation of our seven-item scale, this commentary outlines some major concerns we have with the study especially the removal of two items in developing a five-item FCV-19S. Based on these concerns, we strongly recommend that healthcare providers and researchers should use the five-item FCV-19S with caution.
Estes responderam à EARS e a questões sociodemográficas. (AU)

Infection by HIV/AIDS or other STIs and unplanned pregnancies are sexual health problems of considerable impact around the world. Condoms are the only method that prevents all those risks, and attitudes toward the use of condoms are among the best predictors of their consistent use. The purpose of the present study was to translate, adapt, and validate a Spanish-language version of the Multidimensional Condom Attitudes Scale (MCAS) using a sample of young people from Colombia. A total of 1441 young people between the ages of 18 and 26 years responded to a web-based survey conducted between January 2018 and February 2018. The dimensionality of the scale was explored and confirmed to replicate the original five-factor structure (alphas ranged from .65 to .86). Criterion validity was adequate. Women had more positive attitudes toward identity stigma associated with condom use, while men had more positive attitudes toward reliability and effectiveness of condoms and were less embarrassed with condom negotiation and use. The Spanish-language MCAS is suitable for measuring condom-related attitudes among Colombian youth. Future research is needed to validate the Spanish version of the MCAS with other Spanish-speaking populations.

BACKGROUND: The aim of this study is to examine psychometric properties of the Turkish version of the fear of missing out scale (FoMOs) on three different study groups. METHOD: We conducted the construct validity of the Turkish FoMOs with confirmatory factor analysis, measurement invariance (study I; n = 354), and concurrent validity (study II; n = 371). We also evaluated the reliability of the Turkish FoMOs (study III; n = 61) using test-retest and Cronbach alpha reliability. RESULTS: In study I, the confirmatory factor analysis revealed that the one-dimensional structure of the Turkish version of the FoMOs was verified. The results of measurement analysis depending on the sample of study I demonstrated that configural and metric invariances were established across Facebook and other social media users. The Cronbach alpha values calculated from the samples of study I (α = .79) and study II (α = .78) indicated that internal consistency of the scale was at the acceptable level. Lastly, test-retest reliability of the scale was found as .86 from the study III. CONCLUSION: Overall findings indicated that the psychometric properties of the Turkish version of FoMO scale were satisfactory to measure the FoMO in a wide range of ages in the Turkish context.

The present study aims to present the Cognitive Interview as a useful pre-test tool for adapting the Denison Organizational Culture Survey (DOCS) to the Costa Rican business context, it was pre viously adapted in Valencia, Spain by Bonavia, Prado & Barberá (2009). The DOCS scale was origi nally developed in English by Denison (1984), Denison & Mishra (1995) and Fey & Denison (2003). The Cognitive Interview was applied to a sample of 15 individuals with supervisory or managerial positions in organizations with 25 or more employees. Based on the results of the interviews the scale was adjusted to local parlance. It was then applied in two samples, with similar characteristics, but belonging two different populations: a) 314 students drawn from 445 active students enrolled in Master's Programs (MBA and Project Management) at the Costa Rican Institute of Technology, whose prerequisite for admission stipulates experience in professional positions, preferably supervisory and managerial, and; b) 368 managers drawn from a sampling frame of 1743 companies from various business associations. Eight types of confirmatory factor analyses were performed using EQS 6.3 software in order to explore the dimensionality of the adapted scale and to debug the final version. The Cognitive Interview was confirmed as a valuable tool in this process and the final scale (de nominated DOCSCR-V2) demonstrated adequate functioning in the Costa Rican organizational context.
RESUMO
This article presents the adaptation and psychometric evaluation of the Turkish version of Harmony in Life Scale (Turkish-HiL). The present paper investigates (study 1; N 1 = 253) confirmatory factor analysis, measurement invariance; (study 2; N 2 = 231) concurrent validity; (study 3; N 3 = 260) convergent and known-group validities; (study 4; N t - t = 50) test-retest, Cronbach alpha, and composite reliabilities of the Turkish-HiL. In study 1, based on a confirmatory factor analysis, results confirmed that unidimensional-factor structure. The results suggested that the model demonstrated a configural and metric invariance across the gender groups. In study 2, Turkish-HiL significantly correlated with measures of satisfaction with life, subjective happiness, positive affect, and negative affect. In study 3, Turkish-HiL was predicted positively by flourishing, conversely, negatively predicted by depression, anxiety, and stress. Finally, in study 4, alpha, composite and test-retest reliabilities are acceptable. Overall, the scale presented here may prove useful for satisfactorily assessing, in Turkish, the harmony in life of the university students.

In a context with limited attention to mental health and prevalent sexual prejudice, valid measurements are a key first step to understanding the psychological suffering of sexual minority populations. We adapted the Patient Health Questionnaire as a depressive symptom severity measure for Vietnamese sexual minority women, ensuring its cultural relevance and suitability for internet-based research. Psychometric evaluation found that the scale is mostly unidimensional and has good convergent validity, good external construct validity, and excellent reliability. The sample's high endorsement of scale items emphasizes the need to study minority stress and mental health in this population.

This study presents the Colombian adaptation of the Buss and Perry's Aggression Questionnaire for preadolescents and adolescents. The test was administered to a sample of 535 children (269 boys and 266 girls) with an age range of 8-16 years old, belonging to three schools of Bucaramanga. Confirmatory factor analysis showed a good fit to the four-factor model and reliability was satisfactory. The reliability was good for overall scale (α = 0.82) and physical aggression scale (α = 0.75) while it was sufficient or poor for the other scales depending upon the age group, not being suitable for ages under 12 years-old. Referring to sex effects, we found them only for physical aggression. Finally, this study places particular emphasis on the importance of linguistic and cultural aspects in test adaptation, even when both cultures share the same language.

Over years several methods have been proposed to assess empathy, being the self-evaluate scales the most employed method. Among these scales, we highlight Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI), by Davis (1983) which assess cognitive and affective components of empathy. The main aims of this work were to translate and adapt IRI to using in Brazil, checking its psychometrics properties, and to assess the construct dimensionality of empathy using Exploratory and Confirmatory Factor Analysis. Results showed that: 1) the translated and adapted IRI version was valid to Brazilian context, 2) The Fantasy dimension is central to explain empathy and 3) A four-factor model explains better empathy than the one and two-factor models. This last finding lends support to the Davis and Hoffmans thesis that a multidimensional view could explain better the construct of empathy.
