RESUMO

PURPOSE: A single treatment planning system (TPS) model for matched linacs provides flexible clinical workflows from patient treatment to intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) quality assurance (QA) measurement. Since general guidelines for building a single TPS model and its validation for matched linacs are not well established, we present our RayStation photon TPS modeling strategy for matched Elekta VersaHD linacs. METHOD: The four linacs installed from 2013 to 2020 were matched in terms of Percent Depth Dose (PDD), profile, output factor and wedge factors for 6-MV, 10-MV, 15-MV, and 6-MV-FFF, and maintained following TG-142 recommendations until RayStation commissioning. The RayStation single model was built to represent all four linacs within the tolerance limits recommended by MPPG-5.a. The comprehensive validation tests were performed for one linac following MPPG-5.a and TG-119 guidelines, and spot checks for the other three. Our TPS modeling/validation method was evaluated by re-analyzing the previous 103 patient-specific IMRT/volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) QA measurements with the calculated planar doses by the single model in comparison with the analysis results using four individual Pinnacle TPS models. RESULTS: For all energies, our single model PDDs were within 1% agreement of the four-linac commissioning measurements. The MPPG-5.a validation tests from 5.1 through 7.5 and all TG-119 measurements passed within the recommended tolerance limits. The IMRT QA results (mean ± standard deviation) for RayStation single model versus Pinnacle individual models were 98.9% ± 1.3% and 98.0% ± 1.4% for 6-MV, 99.9% ± 0.1% and 99.1% ± 1.9% for 10-MV, and 98.2% ± 1.3% and 97.9% ± 1.8% for 6-MV-FFF, respectively. CONCLUSION: We successfully built and validated a single photon beam model in RayStation for four Elekta Linacs. The proposed new validation methods were proven to be both efficient and effective.

RESUMO

BACKGROUNDS: When comparing the delivery of all beams per fraction (ABPF) to single beam per fraction (SBPF), it is observed that SBPF not only helps meet the FLASH dose threshold but also mitigates the uncertainty with beam switching in the FLASH effect. However, SBPF might lead to a higher biological equivalent dose in 2 Gy (EQD2) for normal tissues. PURPOSE: This study aims to develop an EQD2-based integrated optimization framework (EQD2-IOF), encompassing robust dose, delivery efficiency, and beam orientation optimization (BOO) for Bragg peak FLASH plans using the SBPF treatment schedule. The EQD2-IOF aims to enhance both dose sparing and the FLASH effect. METHODS: A superconducting gantry was employed for fast energy switching within 27 ms, while universal range shifters were utilized to improve beam current in the implementation of FLASH plans with five Bragg peak beams. To enhance dose delivery efficiency while maintaining plan quality, a simultaneous dose and spot map optimization (SDSMO) algorithm for single field optimization was incorporated into a Bayesian optimization-based auto-planning algorithm. Subsequently, a BOO algorithm based on Tabu search was developed to select beam angle combinations (BACs) for 10 lung cases. To simultaneously consider dose sparing and FLASH effect, a quantitative model based on dose-dependent dose modification factor (DMF) was used to calculate FLASH-enhanced dose distribution. The EQD2-IOF plan was compared to the plan optimized without SDSMO using BAC selected by a medical physicist (Manual plan) in the SBPF treatment schedule. Meanwhile, the mean EQD2 in the normal tissue was evaluated for the EQD2-IOF plan in both SBPF and ABPF treatment schedules. RESULTS: No significant difference was found in D2% and D98% of the target between EQD2-IOF plans and Manual Plans. When using a minimum DMF of 0.67 and a dose threshold of 4 Gy, EQD2-IOF plans showed a significant reduction in FLASH-enhanced EQD2mean of the ipsilateral lung and normal tissue by 10.5% and 11.5%, respectively, compared to Manual plans. For normal tissues that received a dose greater than 70% of the prescription dose, using a minimum DMF of 0.7 for FLASH sparing compensated for the increase in EQD2mean resulting from replacing ABPF with SBPF schedules. CONCLUSIONS: The EQD2-IOF can automatically optimize SBPF FLASH-RT plans to achieve optimal sparing of normal tissues. With an energy switching time of 27 ms, the loss of fractionate repairing using SBPF schedules in high-dose regions can be compensated for by the FLASH effect. However, when an energy switching time of 500 ms is utilized, the SBPF schedule needs careful consideration, as the FLASH effect diminishes with longer irradiation time.

RESUMO

In microfluidics, water droplets are often used as independent biochemical microreactor units, enabling the implementation of massively parallel screening assays where only a few of the reacting water droplets yield a positive result. However, sampling the product of these few successful reactions is an unsolved challenge. One possible solution is to use acoustic tweezers, which are lab-free, easily miniaturized, and biocompatible manipulation tools, and existing acoustic tweezers manipulating particles or cells, and water droplet manipulation in oil with an acoustic tweezer is absent. The first challenge in attempting to recover a few water droplets from a large batch is the selective manipulation of water droplets in an oil system. In this paper, we trap and manipulate single water droplets in oil using integrated single-beam (focused beam/vortex beam) acoustic tweezers for the first time. We find that water droplets with a diameter smaller than half a wavelength are trapped by acoustic vortices, while larger ones are better captured by focused acoustic beams. It is the first step to extract the target water droplet microreactors (positive ones) in an oil system and analyze their content. Compared to previous techniques, such as fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS), our technique is sparse, meaning that the sampling time is proportional to the number of droplets required and very insensitive to the total number of microreactors, making it well suited for large-scale screening assays.

RESUMO

The development of high-precision satellites has increased the demand for ultraprecision three-degrees-of-freedom (3-DOF) angle measurements for detecting structural deformation. The required instrument should simultaneously measure pitch, yaw, and roll angles using a single reference point. This paper proposes a 3-DOF angle measurement method based on the wavefront interference principle, and a mathematical model and its decoupling algorithm were built. Then, an angle-sensing probe with an extremely simple structure was designed and constructed. Finally, a series of experiments were performed to verify the method's feasibility. The experiment results showed that the roll, pitch, and yaw measurement resolution of the probe was better than 10, 1, and 1 µrad, respectively, providing a high-performance 3-DOF angle measurement with a single probe. The short-term stabilities of roll, pitch, and yaw were better than 22, 1.7, and 2.0 µrad, respectively.

RESUMO

The Russian sector of the arctic shelf is the longest in the world. Quite a lot of places of massive discharge of bubble methane from the seabed into the water column and further into the atmosphere were found there. This natural phenomenon requires an extensive complex of geological, biological, geophysical, and chemical studies. This article is devoted to aspects of the use of a complex of marine geophysical equipment applied in the Russian sector of the arctic shelf for the detection and study of areas of the water and sedimentary strata with increased saturation with natural gases, as well as a description of some of the results obtained. This complex contains a single-beam scientific high-frequency echo sounder and multibeam system, a sub-bottom profiler, ocean-bottom seismographs, and equipment for continuous seismoacoustic profiling and electrical exploration. The experience of using the above equipment and the examples of the results obtained in the Laptev Sea have shown that these marine geophysical methods are effective and of particular importance for solving most problems related to the detection, mapping, quantification, and monitoring of underwater gas release from the bottom sediments of the shelf zone of the arctic seas, as well as the study of upper and deeper geological roots of gas emission and their relationship with tectonic processes. Geophysical surveys have a significant performance advantage compared to any contact methods. The large-scale application of a wide range of marine geophysical methods is essential for a comprehensive study of the geohazards of vast shelf zones, which have significant potential for economic use.

RESUMO

Storm surges are natural events that influence the dispersion of sediment along coasts, leading to sudden morphological changes in the seabed. From this perspective, we focused our study on the analysis of measurements from a mobile X-band radar system to survey the sea state and the changes in the seabed depth during storm surges. This analysis was supported by additional information from Sentinel 2 satellite images, the Gorgona wave buoy, the San Giovanni alla Vena hydrometric station, and an echosounder survey. The survey period was from 26 to 28 February and 3 March 2020. During these days, the simultaneous occurrence of a storm surge and flooding of the Arno River was monitored. The analysis of the marine X-band radar mobile images determined the formation and dismantling of seabed shapes. An elongated shoal and a bar-like shape are visible on the right side of the Arno River in the radar image of 26 February and at the Arno mouth on that of 28 February, respectively. The radar image of 3 March shows, near the mouth of the Arno, a delta shape probably due to the deposition of sediment favoured by the interaction between the river flow and storm waves. X-band coastal radar is a detection system that improves the effectiveness and reliability of coastal monitoring because it has a high temporal and spatial resolution. It can be considered a valuable warning system to monitor the sea-bed depth changes in strategic sites, such as harbour areas, during sea storms. Moreover, this system, together with a satellite observing system, is a valid tool for shedding light on the environmental drivers that reshape coastal areas.

RESUMO

The single-beam bathymetric light detection and ranging (LiDAR) system 1 (SBLS-1), which is equipped with a 532-nm-band laser projector and two concentric-circle receivers for shallow- and deep-water echo signals, is a lightweight and convenient prototype instrument with low energy consumption. In this study, a novel LiDAR bathymetric method is utilized to achieve single-beam and dual-channel bathymetric characteristics, and an adaptive extraction method is proposed based on the cumulative standard deviation of the peak and trough, which is mainly used to extract the signal segment and eliminate system and random noise. To adapt the dual-channel bathymetric mechanism, an automatic channel-selection method was used at various water depths. A minimum half-wavelength Gaussian iterative decomposition is proposed to improve the detection accuracy of the surface- and bottom-water waveform components and ensure bathymetric accuracy and reliability. Based on a comparison between the experimental results and in situ data, it was found that the SBLS-1 obtained a bathymetric accuracy and RMSE of 0.27 m and 0.23 m at the Weifang and Qingdao test fields. This indicates that the SBLS-1 was bathymetrically capable of acquiring a reliable, high-efficiency waveform dataset. Hence, the novel LiDAR bathymetric method can effectively achieve high-accuracy near-shore bathymetry.

RESUMO

Microbubbles are widely used in medical ultrasound imaging and drug delivery. Many studies have attempted to quantify the collapse pressure of microbubbles using methods that vary depending on the type and population of bubbles and the frequency band of the ultrasound. However, accurate measurement of collapse pressure is difficult as a result of non-acoustic pressure factors generated by physical and chemical reactions such as dissolution, cavitation, and interaction between bubbles. In this study, we developed a method for accurately measuring collapse pressure using only ultrasound pulse acoustic pressure. Under the proposed method, the collapse pressure of a single hollow glass microsphere (HGM) is measured using a high-frequency (20-40 MHz) single-beam acoustic tweezer (SBAT), thereby eliminating the influence of additional factors. Based on these measurements, the collapse pressure is derived as a function of the HGM size using the microspheres' true density. We also developed a method for estimating high-frequency acoustic pressure, whose measurement using current hydrophone equipment is complicated by limitations in the size of the active aperture. By recording the transmit voltage at the moment of collapse and referencing it against the corresponding pressure, it is possible to estimate the acoustic pressure at the given transmit condition. These results of this study suggest a method for quantifying high-frequency acoustic pressure, provide a potential reference for the characterization of bubble collapse pressure, and demonstrate the potential use of acoustic tweezers as a tool for measuring the elastic properties of particles/cells.

RESUMO

One of the most important challenges in the design of the piezoelectric energy harvester is its narrow bandwidth. Most of the input vibration sources are exposed to frequency variation during their operation. The piezoelectric energy harvester's narrow bandwidth makes it difficult for the harvester to track the variations of the input vibration source frequency. Thus, the harvester's output power and overall performance is expected to decline from the designed value. This current study aims to solve the problem of the piezoelectric energy harvester's narrow bandwidth. The main objective is to achieve bandwidth broadening which is carried out by segmenting the piezoelectric material of the energy harvester into n segments; where n could be more than one. Three arrays with two, four, and six beams are shaped with two piezoelectric segments. The effect of changing the length of the piezoelectric material segment on the resonant frequency, output power, and bandwidth, as well as the frequency response is investigated. The proposed piezoelectric energy harvesters were implemented utilizing a finite element method (FEM) simulation in a MATLAB environment. The results show that increasing the number of array beams increases the output power and bandwidth. For the three-beam arrays, at n equals 2, 6 mW output power and a 9 Hz bandwidth were obtained. Moreover, the bandwidth of such arrays covered around 5% deviation from its resonant frequency. All structures were designed to operate as a steel wheel safety sensor which could be used in train tracks.

RESUMO

Recent studies have shown the possibility to manipulate small elastic spheres in 3D with a single-sided beam. Acoustical tweezers are very appealing because they provide a fine spatial control of the motion of a single particle in space. Their main limitations are due to the weak restoring axial force and improving this force is still a challenge. We show theoretically that the spherical vortex beams can trap large particles and enhance the axial force. Indeed, the special features of these unusual beams look like the bottle beams in optics. Nevertheless, their spatial complexity presupposes that they can be produced with sufficient precision. Therefore, attention is paid to the synthesis of the spherical vortices. A method based on the inverse filter method is proposed. It allows to synthesize them with a very good precision since the theoretical force is recovered experimentally with an error smaller than 10%. Then, the spherical vortices are used to trap polyethylene beads with radii between 500 and 590µm. Experiments show that the radial trap is working while no beads have been trapped in the axial direction. This failure is analyzed in detail and is shown to be mainly due to sensitivity to the properties of the materials which influences the resonance modes of the elastic sphere. This study paves the way to the optimization of acoustical tweezers for the manipulation of large objects.

RESUMO

Seagrass beds are recognized as pivotal and among the most vulnerable coastal marine ecosystems globally. The eelgrass Zostera marina L. is the most widely distributed seagrass species and dominates the temperate northern hemisphere. However, an alarming decline in seagrass has been occurring worldwide due to multiple stressors. Seagrass meadow degradation is particularly serious in the Bohai Sea, in temperate China; however, large areas (> 500 ha) of seagrass meadows and population recruitment have rarely been reported in this area. In the present study, we report on a large eelgrass bed in a eutrophic bay of the Bohai Sea. Sonar and field survey methods were used to investigate the distribution of seagrass and its population recruitment. We also analyzed the major threats to this large seagrass bed. Results showed that a large Z. marina bed with an area of 694.36 ha occurred in this area of the Bohai Sea, with a peripheral area of ~25 km2. Seagrass canopy height and plant coverage had a significant correlation with water depth. Asexual reproduction principally occurred in autumn and played a dominant role in population recruitment in vegetated areas, where no seedlings successfully colonized. In contrast, a considerable number of seedlings survived in the seagrass meadow gaps, and thus played a critical role in the recruitment in these areas. The maximum reproductive shoot densities were about 100 and 70 shoots m-2 at sampling site (S)-1 and S-2 in 2018, respectively, which was about two times more than in 2019 (50 and 20 reproductive shoots m-2 at S-1 and S-2, respectively). The potential seed output per unit area in 2019 was about 1020 seeds m-2 at S-1 and 830 seeds m-2 at S-2, and the seed output in the study area was at a low level compared with global values. Overall, high spring and summer water temperature appeared to induce sexual reproduction of Z. marina in the study area, including reproductive effort, reproductive investment, and seedling development. Furthermore, eelgrass height, aboveground biomass, and density were significantly related to water temperature. Among the potential threatening factors to seagrass in this area, the activities of clam harvesting were intense with daily clam catches >2000 kg, leading to patchy seagrass meadows, especially in the fringe areas. The seagrass bed was also threatened by marine pollution (nutrient loading) and land reclamation. Therefore, the protection and restoration of this seagrass bed are strongly recommended. Our study will provide fundamental information for the conservation and management strategies of large eelgrass beds in the Bohai Sea.

RESUMO

We experimentally demonstrate the nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) detection at 1.9 kHz using a detection system comprised of a high-sensitivity single-beam atomic magnetometer and a flux transformer. The single-beam atomic magnetometer has been commercialized by QuSpin for typical operation at low frequencies below 200 Hz with a bandwidth of 135 Hz [1]. However, this magnetometer operation can be extended to much higher frequencies about 2 kHz by applying optimal-bias magnetic fields. The sensitivity of the detection system with a demonstrated signal-to-noise ratio of about 50 for a 20 ml water sample, even without magnetic field shimming, is quite competitive with that in other ultra-low field NMR detection systems, such as the Magritek Terranova system or the system based on our home-built atomic magnetometer installed inside a magnetically shielded room [2]. This ultra-low field NMR approach can be applied to Earth-field NMR detection and imaging. We estimate that the detection system with a modified flux transformer can be sensitive to underground-water detection at depth of 1 meter and deeper, and to field mapping applications.

RESUMO

Single-beam acoustic tweezers (SBAT) is a widely used trapping technique to manipulate microscopic particles or cells. Recently, the characterization of a single cancer cell using high-frequency (>30 MHz) SBAT has been reported to determine its invasiveness and metastatic potential. Investigation of cell elasticity and invasiveness is based on the deformability of cells under SBAT's radiation forces, and in general, more physically deformed cells exhibit higher levels of invasiveness and therefore higher metastatic potential. However, previous imaging analysis to determine substantial differences in cell deformation, where the SBAT is turned ON or OFF, relies on the subjective observation that may vary and requires follow-up evaluations from experts. In this study, we propose an automatic and reliable cancer cell classification method based on SBAT and a convolutional neural network (CNN), which provides objective and accurate quantitative measurement results. We used a custom-designed 50 MHz SBAT transducer to obtain a series of images of deformed human breast cancer cells. CNN-based classification methods with data augmentation applied to collected images determined and validated the metastatic potential of cancer cells. As a result, with the selected optimizers, precision, and recall of the model were found to be greater than 0.95, which highly validates the classification performance of our integrated method. CNN-guided cancer cell deformation analysis using SBAT may be a promising alternative to current histological image analysis, and this pretrained model will significantly reduce the evaluation time for a larger population of cells.

RESUMO

Seagrass meadows are declining at alarming rates globally due to both anthropogenic activities and natural threats. Seagrasses play key ecological roles in coastal ecosystems as primary producers and providers of habitat and environmental structure. Therefore, mapping seagrass beds is indispensable for the effective monitoring and management of coastal vegetated habitats. In contrast to direct sampling techniques and optical remote sensing, active hydroacoustic techniques are relatively inexpensive and efficient for the detection of seagrass. We used a single beam echosounder to detect the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of the eelgrass Zostera marina L. in an important overwintering habitat for the whooper swan Cygnus cygnus (Swan-Lake lagoon), northern China. We also distinguished echograms of the macroalgae Chaetomorpha linum K. and outlined its threat to seagrass. We also propose a method for calculating the accuracy of interpolation analyses. Results showed that: (1) The distribution of seagrass in Swan Lake varies with seasons, with maximum distribution area in summer. The maximum distribution area of seagrass beds in Swan Lake was 199.09 ha-231.67 ha, accounting for 41.48%-48.26% of the area of Swan Lake; (2) C. linum is a growing threat for seagrass beds of Swan-lake, with distribution area as high as 129.28 ha in May 2018. The invasion and competition by C. linum against seagrass beds could be one of the reasons for the decline in seagrass beds in Swan-Lake; (3) Topo to Raster has the highest interpolation accuracy and is the most conservative among three interpolation methods. Topo to Raster was the most suitable interpolation method for the sonar detection of seagrass beds. The findings may facilitate the application of sonar technology in seagrass monitoring and provide data for the formulation of appropriate seagrass bed management and restoration strategies and policies.

RESUMO

We present the bathymetric dataset of a single beam sounding. Surveys were conducted in 25 expeditions of the Atlantic branch of Shirshov Institute of Oceanology RAS in the Russian EEZ area of the southeastern part of the Baltic Sea in the period from 2004 to 2018. Acoustic data were acquired by echo sounders Simrad EA-400SP and Furuno FS-700. The raw sounding data were filtered and corrected by sound velocity values. The dataset is presented as spreadsheets (*.xslx) and GIS point-class shapes (*.shp). The digital elevation model (DEM) of 1: 500 000 scale has been constructed for the entire Russian EEZ on base of the original array of sounding profiles and an open sources bathymetry [1]. DEM is presented by XYZ-grid (*.txt) and GeoTIFF raster (*.tif).

RESUMO

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the dosimetric variation among six non-beam-matched Varian linacs using different techniques for the same plans. Six non-beam-matched Varian machines, comprising two Clinac iX, two 600 C/D (Unique), and two True Beam Tx photon 6 MV X-ray devices were acquired. Sixty patients with of head and neck (H&N; 30) and pelvic (30) treatment sites were chosen. For all 60 patients, three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3DCRT), intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), and volumetric-modulated radiotherapy (VMAT) plans were generated for the Clinac iX-1 device; all plans were migrated to the remaining machines, using the eclipse treatment planning system without any modification. The dosimetric variation among the six machines for each target volume and organ at risk was recorded and analyzed. In H&N cases, the maximum variation among the six machines with 3DCRT, IMRT, and VMAT was 2.57%, 2.6%, and 2.6%, respectively. In pelvic cases, the maximum variation among the six machines with 3DCRT, IMRT, and VMAT was 2.2%, 1.95%, and 2.05%, respectively. Our overall results show that dosimetric variation, while interchanging the plans among the six machines at phantom and patient levels, remains within the limits of clinical acceptability. The noted variation was not correlated with any of these treatment techniques: 3DCRT, IMRT, or VMAT.

RESUMO

Objective To evaluate the dose variation of target coverage and organs at risk ( OARs) among four planning strategies using spot-scanning carbon-ion radiotherapy for non-small cell lung cancer ( NSCLC) . Methods Ten NSCLC patients utilizing gating motion control were selected to receive dose calculation over multiple acquired 4DCT images. Four optimizing strategies consisted of intensity-modulated carbon-ion therapy ( IMCT-NoAS ) , IMCT combined with internal gross tumor volume ( IGTV ) assigned muscle ( IMCT-ASM ) , single beam optimization ( SBO ) ( SBO-NoAS ) and SBO combined with IGTV assigned muscle (SBO-ASM).The initial plan was re-calculated after the 4DCT data were reviewed and then compared with the initial plan in the dosimetry. Results For re-calculation plans with two reviewing CTs,all four strategies yielded similar planning target volume ( PTV ) coverage. Merely IMCT-NoAS strategy presented with relatively significant variations in dose distribution. Dose variation for OARs between initial and re-calculated plans:for all four strategies,V20 of ipsilateral lung was increased by approximately 2. 0 Gy (relative biological effective dose,RBE),V30 of heart was increased by approximately 1. 0 Gy (RBE) for both IGTV assigned muscle strategies, whereas decreased by approximately 0. 2 Gy ( RBE) for both IGTV non-assigned muscle strategies. The maximum dose of spinal cord was changed by 2. 5 Gy ( RBE ) . Conclusions Carbon-ion radiotherapy is sensitive to the anatomic motion within the tumors along the beam path. When the tumor motion along the head-foot (H-F) direction exceeds 8 mm,SBO-ASM strategy provides better dose coverage of target. Strategies with IGTV assignment may result in dose overshoot to a position deeper than the initial planning dose distribution.

RESUMO

Efforts on quantitative measurements of the interactive forces of red blood cells (RBC) have been pursued for many years in hopes of a better understanding of hemodynamics and blood rheology. In this paper, we report an approach based on an ultra-high frequency (410 MHz) single beam acoustic tweezer (SBAT) for quantitative measurements of inter-RBC forces at a single cell level. The trapping forces produced by this ultra-high frequency (UHF) SBAT can be quantitatively estimated with a micropipette. Since the focal beam diameter of the 410 MHz ultrasonic transducer used in this SBAT was only 6.5 micrometer (µm), which was smaller than that of a RBC (~7.5 µm), it was made possible to directly apply the beam to a single RBC and measure inter-RBC forces against the pre-calibrated acoustic trapping forces as another example of potential cellular applications of the SBAT. The magnitude of these forces was found to be 391.0 ± 86.4 pN. Finally, it is worth noting that unlike several other methods, this method does not require the measuring device to be in contact with the cells.

RESUMO

Single-beam acoustic tweezers (SBATs) represent a new technology for particle and cell trapping. The advantages of SBATs are their deep penetration into tissues, reduction of tissue damage and ease of application to in vivo studies. The use of these tools for applications in drug delivery in vivo must meet the following conditions: large penetration depth, strong trapping force and tissue safety. A reasonable penetration depth for SBATs in the development of in vivo applications was established in a previous study conducted in water with zero velocity. However, capturing objects in flowing fluid can provide more meaningful results. In this study, we investigated the capability of SBATs to trap red blood cells (RBCs) and polystyrene microspheres in flowing RBC suspensions. Two different types of RBC suspension were prepared in this work: an RBC phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) suspension and an RBC plasma suspension. The results indicated that SBATs successfully trapped RBCs and polystyrene microspheres in a flowing RBC PBS suspension with an average steady velocity of 1.6 cm/s in a 2-mm-diameter polyimide. Furthermore, SBATs were found able to trap RBCs in a flowing RBC PBS suspension at speeds as high as 7.9 cm/s in a polyimide tube, which is higher than the velocity in capillaries (0.03 cm/s) and approaches the velocity in arterioles and venules. Moreover, the results also indicated that polystyrene microspheres can be trapped in an RBC plasma suspension, where aggregation is observed. RESUMO

Objective To introduce the treatment efficacy of using allograft muscle ligament anatomical to rebuild anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) of knee joint under the arthroscopy. Methods Sixty-two cases patients with ACL rupture in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction under arthroscopy.Allograft ligaments were used as graft,a bone tunnel was established in the proximal tibia and distal femur, and the graft was fixed by the extrusion screw. After the operation, the knee joint was fixed for 12 weeks, and the subjective evaluation was carried out according to the Lysholm and Larson knee score standards;in order to assess the stability of the ligament and the functional recovery of the knee joint, objective evaluation was carried out according to Lachman test in patients. Results The preoperative average Lysholm scale was (43.1±2.1) points, the final average score of 2 years after the reconstruction of the ligament was (91.0+2.3) points, there was significant difference (t=3.460,P=0.001).The preoperative average Larson scale was (41.0±2.9) points, the final average score of 2 years after the reconstruction of the ligament was (90.1±3.5) points, there was significant difference (t=3.232,P=0.001).Lachman test results were negative in 62 patients at the end of the review. No serious postoperative complications occurred,no knee infection, deep vein thrombosis and stiffness. All the patients can be completely straight 1 year after operation, knees up to 120 degrees. All patients were satisfied with the function at the end of the follow-up,no joint instability,no re-rupture occurred during the follow-up period. Conclusion Using the allogeneic single beam anatomy of anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction under arthroscopy can obtain satisfactory clinical efficacy.
