RESUMO

The processing of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is a unique traditional pharmaceutical technology in China, which is the most important feature that distinguishes Chinese medicine from natural medicine and plant medicine. Since the record in Huangdi Neijing (Inner Canon of the Yellow Emperor), till now, the processing of TCM has experienced more than 2000 years of inheritance, innovation, and development, which is a combination of TCM theory and clinical practice, and plays an extremely important position in the field of TCM. In recent years, as a clinical prescription of TCM, Chinese herbal pieces have played a significant role in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 and exhibited their unique value, and therefore they have become the highlight of China's clinical treatment protocol and provided Chinese experience and wisdom for the international community in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic. This paper outlines the research progress in the processing of representative TCM in recent years, reviews the mechanism of the related effects of TCM materials after processing, such as changing the drug efficacy and reducing the toxicity, puts forward the integration and application of a variety of new technologies and methods, so as to reveal the modern scientific mystery of the processing technology of TCM.

RESUMO

This paper discusses the rational use of traditional Chinese medicine based on chemical composition, body state and biological effect. The essence and connotations of traditional Chinese medicine are explained by modern scientific theory and technical means, and the mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of diseases is defined in modern medicine language, which is conducive to promoting rational and safe clinical use of drugs. Based on the chemical composition of traditional Chinese medicine, the selected genuine medicinal materials were collected and processed in a standardized way, and then used in the combination with other traditional Chinese medicines, with the aim to improve the efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine in clinical indications, increase the advantages, eliminate the disadvantages, and adapt to flexible and safe clinical drug demands. Based on the body state elements, clinical diagnosis and treatment shall be patient-centered, and doctors shall distinguish the differences of pathogenesis, symptoms and diseases, and consider the drug contraindications of special groups. According to the " dose-effect-toxicity" relationship, doctors shall select the appropriate dosage form, control the drug dosage, balance the benefits and risks of drugs, and carry out appropriate medical treatment. Based on the biological effect elements and the regulatory mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine on the target and pathway of disease, traditional Chinese medicine shall strengthen the precise positioning, provide accurate treatment; evaluate the safety of traditional Chinese medicine combination, explore the adverse reaction mechanism, strengthen the clinical safety monitoring of traditional Chinese medicine, and guide the clinical rational use of drugs, in the expectation of ensuring the safe use of traditional Chinese medicine and maximize the clinical efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine.

RESUMO

GP11 had been reported to have effectively anti-tumor activity by improving the immune function in our previous study. To avoid drawbacks of the 5-Fu, GP11 in combination with 5-Fu was investigated in this study. The results demonstrated that such synergism displayed enhance the anti-tumor activity of 5-Fu. Additionally, a strength effect was also observed in regulating immune function of GP11 and 5-Fu simultaneous administration, such as enhancing serum interleukin-2 (IL-2) and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) secretion, and increasing immune organs weights. Moreover, GP11 could improve the haematological and biochemical parameters deterioration, superoxide dismutase (SOD) activities reduction and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels enhancement in non-immune organs induced by 5-Fu. All these results illustrated that GP11 exhibited attenuated and synergized effect on 5-Fu by improving the immune function. It could be developed as an auxiliary preparation for chemotherapeutic drugs.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE To investigate the inhibitory effect of eight lignan compounds of Fructus Schisandrae chinensis in vitro on carboxylesterase 2 (CES2) and to estimate the herb-drug interaction (HDI) risks of strong CES2 inhibitors selected from the above compounds. METHODS Fluorescein diacetate (FD) was employed as a specific fluorescent probe of CES2. The residual activity of CES2 was detected in human liver microsomes after the intervention with deoxyschizandrin, schisanhenol, schisantherin E, schisandrol A, schisandrol B, gomisin J, gomisin G, and gomisin O at 37℃ for 10 min, respectively. 1% DMSO served as control. Residual activity of CES2 was assessed with metabolite production of FD detected by fluorescent intensity, combined with IC50 values of the above compounds to predict HDI risks between lignans and CES2-metabolizing drugs. RESULTS Compared with control group, the activity of CES2 was significantly inhibited by deoxyschizandrin and schisanhenol (P<0.01), with IC50 values of 8.06 μmol · L- 1 and 8.91 μmol · L- 1, respectively. The other six lignans compounds exhibited mild inhibitory effect on CES2. HDI risk prediction of deoxyschizandrin or schisanhenol indicated that exposure of CES2-metabolizing drugs might increase 11.24 and 0.40 times, respectively. CONCLUSION Deoxyschizandrin and schisanhenol exhibit strong inhibitory effects against CES2 in vitro so that potential HDI risks should be taken into account during administration of drugs containing Fructus Schisandrae chinensis.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the synergism and attenuation effects of Pini Pollen on cyclophosphamide chemotherapy in model mice. Methods The models of mouse were induced with S180 tumor and cyclophosphamide. The tumor inhibiting rates, hematology, Liver function, giant cell phagocytosis, hemolysin level and indexes of thymus and spleen were determined to evaluate the synergism and attenuation effects of Pini Pollen(150,300,600 mg/kg) on cyclophosphamide chemotherapy. Results Compared with cyclophosphamide chemotherapy group, the tumor inhibiting rates, white blood cell number, giant cell phagocytosis, hemolysin level and indexes of thymus and spleen were increased, at the same time liver function damage were alleviated significantly in cyclophosphamide plus Pini Pollen groups. Conclusions Pini Pollen has a remarkable synergism and attenuation effects on cyclophosphamide chemotherapy through its immune adjustment functions.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the synergism and attenuation effects of Scapharca Subcrenata Extraction on NP chemotherapy in model mice. Methods The models of nude mice were induced with A549 cell line xenograft. The tumor inhibiting rates, body weight, food intake, hematology and blood biochemistry index were determined to evaluate the synergism and attenuation effects of Scapharca Subcrenata Extraction (125、250、500 mg/kg, i.g) on NP chemotherapy. Results Compared with NP chemotherapy group, the tumor inhibiting rates, body weight, food intake, white blood cell number were increased and glutamate pyruvate transaminase, glutamic oxalacetic transaminase and urea nitrogen were decreased markedly in NP chemotherapy plus Scapharca Subcrenata Extraction groups. Conclusion Scapharca Subcrenata Extraction has a remarkable synergism and attenuation effects on NP chemotherapy.
