RESUMO

The present study aimed to review the current status and development of international standards in the domain of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) diagnosis. Moreover, the roles and relevant work of different organizations in developing such standards were explored, and the difficulties and challenges encountered were analyzed. The study further elaborated on the approaches to establish a complete set of international standards on TCM diagnosis. It also provided a promising solution for the development of international standards on TCM diagnosis.

RESUMO

The integration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in Western health systems and research requires a rational communicable theory, scientific proof of efficacy and safety, and quality control measures. The existence of clear definitions and the diagnosis standardization are critical factors to establish the patient's vegetative functional status accurately and, therefore, systematically apply TCM therapeutics such as the stimulation of reflex skin areas known as acupoints. This science-based conceptualization entails using validated methods, or even developing new systems able to parameterize the diagnosis and assess TCM related effects by objective measurements. Traditionally, tongue and pulse diagnosis and the functional evaluation of action points by pressure sensitivity and physical examination may be regarded as essential diagnostic tools. Parameterizing these techniques is a future key point in the objectification of TCM diagnosis, such as by electronic digital image analysis, mechanical pulse diagnostic systems, or the systematic evaluation of acupoints' electrophysiology. This review aims to demonstrate and critically analyze some achievements and limitations in the clinical application of device-assisted TCM diagnosis systems to evaluate functional physiological patterns. Despite some limitations, tongue, pulse, and electrophysiological diagnosis devices have been reported as a useful tool while establishing a person's functional status.

RESUMO

In December 2019, a new type of coronavirus pneumonia emerged and spread rapidly, but there is no specific antiviral vaccine or drug. At present, traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) prevention and treatment programs have been introduced in many places in China. This paper systematically reviews and summarizes the etiology and pathogenesis of novel coronavirus pneumonia 2019 (COVID-19), the prevention programs for different populations in different regions and the treatment programs by stages. We analyzed the TCM prevention and treatment programs of COVID-19 in various regions and the clinical characteristics of the first-line patients. It is verified that the disease belongs to the category of "wet poison epidemic" according to TCM, and the disease is located in the lung and the spleen. The core pathogenesis of the disease is "dampness, heat, poison, blood stasis and deficiency" because of the rage of the disease. According to the relevant plan, TCM prevention should adopt different prescriptions according to the constitution of different populations and pay attention to comprehensive prevention according to different climates, regions and populations. Treatment should focus on eliminating filth and resolving turbidity, with clearing dampness as the key point. The corresponding treatment plan should be made according to the development of the disease, and the treatment should be divided into five stages (observation stage, initial stage, middle stage, severe stage and convalescence stage) according to the rules of syndrome development. Through the systematic analysis of the progress of TCM applied in various regions during the epidemic period, this paper hopes to provide useful help and guidance for the prevention and control of the epidemic and rational application and further research on the clinical treatment with TCM.

RESUMO

The occurrence, development and outcome of most diseases are a complex process. It is the advantage of traditional Chinese medicine to establish complex interventions that are consistent with the characteristics of disease development. The specific steps are as follows: quantitative research on literature research, establishment of interview framework; focus on interviews, specificization of interview outlines; semi-structured interviews, preliminary construction of complex intervention programs; evaluation of efficacy of complex interventions. The introduction of semi-structured interviews and other qualitative research methods into the modernization of traditional Chinese medicine, combined with quantitative methods such as text analysis and data mining, is also helpful in formulating the standard of diagnosis and treatment system with Chinese characteristics.

RESUMO

[Objective] To explore the location of Renying and Qikou pulses, and its clinical role. [Method] Through studying the relevant contents of the Renying Qikou pulse in <Huangdi Neijing>, and accessing to the relevant information, combining in with the clinical experience of the author, to analyze the location and clinical function of the pulse. [Result] There are plenty of Renying and Qikou pulse in<Huangdi Neijing>,but most of scholars think that the Renying is located in the neck since ancient times, which is difficult to use in clinical practice. The author thinks that the Renying is located in a point ahead of the left Guan Pulse, and Qikou is located in a point ahead of the right, and introduces the method to judge size, through the author 's literature reviews and clinical experience, for the efficient diagnosis and treatment. [Conclusion]The Renying Qikou pulse is one of the most main contents in<Huangdi Neijing>, which has rich information. The pulse has an effect that can not be ignored for modern Chinese medicine clinic, especially for the acupuncture and moxibustion.

RESUMO

Objective To study the classification and diagnosis of TCM syndromes of rheumatoid arthritis in the active stage by using variable clustering analysis. Methods Clinical data of 237 cases of rheumatoid arthritis in active stage, including symptoms, signs and manifestation of tongue and pulse, were recorded and dealt with cluster analysis. Results TCM syndromes in the patients were classified into four types, including pathogenic factor and depression in collaterals, intermingled phlegm and blood stasis, blokage due to damp-heat, blood stasis and qi deficiency, and main diagnostic points were determined for different syndromes initially. Conclusion The variable clustering analysis combined with expert’s opinion is helpful to study the classification of TCM syndromes and main diagnositic points of rheumatoid arthritis in active stage.

RESUMO

To investigate the establishment and evaluation of TCM diagnosis and treatment protocols of post infectious cough based on its status and problems. It will make the TCM syndrome standardization easy to popularize, and realize the optimization and simplification of TCM treatment protocols, establishment of western medicine diagnostic criteria beseem different hospital, and selection of scientific and accepted outcome measurements,to improve level of TCM diagnosis and treatment of post infectious cough and quality of its clinical research.
