RESUMO

PURPOSE: To analyze the effect of adjuvant rehabilitation training after calf contouring with botulinum toxin type A (BTX-A) injection. METHODS: Clinical data of 48 female beauty seekers who underwent calf contouring at the Plastic Surgery Laser Center of Guangdong Second People's Hospital from January 2021 to June 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. Among them, 24 cases received routine care from January 2021 to December 2021 and were included in a control group, and 24 cases received rehabilitation care with auxiliary rehabilitation training from January 2022 to June 2022 that were in an observation group. The subjects were followed up for 24 weeks to observe the curative effect, and the injection efficacy was compared between the two groups. The maximum calf circumference (MCC) and gastrocnemius muscle thickness (GMT) were comparatively analyzed before and 2, 4, 12, and 24 weeks after treatment. The incidence of adverse reactions and satisfaction rate were also compared. RESULTS: Both groups showed reduced calf circumferences after injection, with soft and uniform calf curves. No inter-group statistical significance was identified in terms of curative effects. Reduced MCC and GMT were observed in both groups at 2, 4, 12, and 24 weeks after treatment, with lower values in the observation group than in the control group at week 2, 4, and 12. The observation group also showed markedly fewer adverse reactions and higher satisfaction rate than the control group. CONCLUSIONS: BTX-A injection is effective in calf contouring and can significantly reduce the MCC and GMT. In addition, post-injection rehabilitation training can significantly reduce the occurrence of adverse reactions and improve patient satisfaction.

RESUMO

Background: Dietary intake constitutes a fundamental support in hospitalized patients to reduce morbimortality, risk of complications, and hospital stay. Objective: We compared dietary intake, stress, anxiety, and satisfaction with the nutrition service in patients with and without COVID-19; we also analyzed the correlation between the variables mentioned. Methods: A cross-sectional, comparative, and correlational study was carried out. A total of 215 patients were selected by non-probability convenience sampling (97 with COVID-19 and 118 without COVID-19). Results: Patients with COVID-19 presented a higher percentage of "all the dish served" consumption (63.9%), as well as a higher percentage of "high" anxiety (18.6%) and "very high" satisfaction (28.9%) compared to their counterparts without COVID-19. The stress variable was predominantly moderate in both groups (57.7% vs 55.9%). Statistically significant and indirect correlation was found between satisfaction and stress level (rho = -0.289; p<0.01) in patients without COVID-19; similarly, between intake and stress level (rho =-.254; p<0.05) in patients with COVID-19. Both groups presented a statistically significant and direct correlation between anxiety and stress level (rho =0.432 without COVID-19, rho = 0.525 with COVID-19; p<0.01). Conclusion: The findings suggest a multidisciplinary intervention, in which the improvement of mental health in the study population is contemplated and to coadunate the negative effects on the perception of the quality of care of the nutrition service and on dietary intake.

RESUMO

The current form of teacher education and training has gradually shifted to distance training, but the most prominent performance of the participants in network training is the lack of motivation and enthusiasm for participation, and the participants participate in the training with the mentality of coping with the assessment, and the training effect is naturally not very good. At this point, the concept of gamification learning has become popular. Gamification applies game thinking and mechanics to non-game areas to guide user interaction and use. Based on Professor Kevin Werbach's gamification design framework, this study developed a case study of gamification for online teacher training, implemented in a professional development program for primary and secondary school teachers in Zhejiang Province, China. A self-administered questionnaire was then surveyed in three teaching classes, and the results found that: Firstly The participants' satisfaction in response to the gamification case was at a moderate to high level (M > 4.0, Tot = 5.0); Secondly, demographic factors did not significantly influence this (p > 0.05); Thirdly, among the gamification design influencing factors, presentation and feedback were the most influential (b = 0.536,p = 0.000), goals and rules (b = 0.167, p = 0.012), communication and interaction (b = 0.155, p = 0.029), and personalization (b = 0.154, p = 0.020) in decreasing order; Fourthly, The effect of case implementation significantly impacted participants' intention to sustain participation (b = 0.874, p = 0.000). Finally, we distilled the study's shortcomings and the prospects for future research.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To demonstrate the value of Internet of things (IoT)-based diagnosis-treatment model in improving medical service quality during the novel coronavirus pneumonia (COVID-19) outbreak. METHODS: In this retrospective analysis, 483 patients with chronic diseases treated between January 2020 and March 2021 were selected and grouped as follows based on different intervention methods: a research group (the Res group) with 229 patients that were given IoT-based diagnosis and treatment, and a control group (the Con group) with 254 patients that were treated with routine diagnosis and treatment. The qualified rate of medical records, the missing rate of medical records, and the incidence of doctor-patient disputes were compared between the two groups. In addition, investigations were made regarding patients' daily living ability, psychological state, health behavior, self-care ability, quality of life, as well as treatment satisfaction. RESULTS: There was no difference in the qualified rate of medical records between the Res group and the Con group (P>0.05), but the missing rate of medical records and the incidence of doctor-patient disputes were lower in the Res group (both P<0.05). An obviously improved living ability was observed in both groups after the treatment (both P<0.05), with no statistical significance between groups (P>0.05). Besides, the Res group presented lower scores of SAS and SDS but higher scores of SRAHP, ES-CA and SF-36 than the Con group after treatment (all P<0.05). Finally, according to the satisfaction survey, more patients in the Res group were very satisfied but fewer cases were dissatisfied with the medical service they received as compared with the Con group (both P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The IoT-based diagnosis-treatment model can effectively improve the quality of medical services and patients' self-care ability, which is extremely important and promising for addressing the current medical limitations during the COVID-19 epidemic.

RESUMO

ObjectiveTo verify and promote the HIV antibody urine test in a demonstration zone for HIV prevention and control in Xinjiang, and to assess the sensitivity and specificity of the test and the willingness of the volunteers, providing a basis for evaluating and determining whether it was suitable for large-scale use in the region. MethodsStratified cluster sampling was used to select the respondents in a place in Xinjiang for questionnaire survey and sample collecting. Questionnaire results were statistically described, and multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to explore the influencing factors of willingness to use HIV-1 urine test. The results of blood ELISA antibody detection method were used as a reference to calculate the specificity, sensitivity and Kappa value of urinary HIV-1 antibody in the total population and different populations. ResultsA total of 2 504 volunteers were recruited for the urine self-testing. The sensitivity of HIV-1 antibody urine test in the total population was 94.73% (54/57), the specificity was 100% (2 447), the positive predictive value was 100% (54/54), and the negative predictive value was 99.88% (2 447/2 450). The specificity of each population group was 100% when comparing different populations. The test sensitivity was 100% in pregnant women, prostitutes and drug users, 50% (1/2) in MSM subjects, with a Kappa value of 0.796. The test sensitivity was 80% (8/10) in the volunteers, with a Kappa value of 0.878. In the satisfaction survey, 73.1% population was more likely to receive urinary rapid test than the blood fast test, 93.8% of the population was willing to recommend the rapid urinary detection to other people. More than 70% of the population was satisfied with the rapid urinary detection. The multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that age, degree of education, occupation, marital status, payment method of medical expenses, and income level were the influence factors of the purchase of urine fast reagent for the self-testing (P<0.05). ConclusionUrinary HIV-1 antibody detection method has good reliability and public satisfaction. It is suitable for large-scale use in Xinjiang.

RESUMO

The field of rapid urbanization has recently paid more attention to the relationship between tourism development and liveable city construction. Previous studies have mainly focused on the experiences of tourists in tourist cities and seldom paid attention to the perceptions of local residents. Based on survey data of nearly 10,000 permanent residents in 40 key tourist cities in China, this study uses a multilevel model to quantitatively analyse the natural environment characteristics, sociocultural environment characteristics and comprehensive attraction of tourism in different tourist cities to explore their impact on urban liveability satisfaction. Results show that the developed tourist cities do not exactly correspond to the cities with a high liveability evaluation. The objective evaluation of both the natural environment and the sociocultural environment has an important influence on the liveability of cities, but the influence of the natural environment is stronger than that of the sociocultural environment. An intermediary effect exists in the subjective evaluation of the natural environment and environments for liveability perception. Simultaneously, residents' liveability satisfaction varies according to their age, education level, annual household income and other social and economic conditions. These findings provide insights for developing countries to further improve residents' living quality and urban construction under the condition of the rapid development of tourism.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: With implementation of Chinese universal healthcare, the performance of urban and rural residents' healthcare and the degree of satisfaction with publicly financed health services have become a hot issue in assessing health reforms in China. An evaluation model of health services in community and evaluation indexes of health-system performance have been put forward in related researches. This study examines variation in satisfaction with publicly financed health services among urban and rural residents in five Chinese cities and assesses their determinants. METHODS: The data are derived from a survey of 1198 urban and rural residents from five nationally representative regions concerning their perceptions of satisfaction with China's publicly financed health services. The respondents assessed their degree of satisfaction with publicly financed health services on a 5-point Likert scale. It is a kind of questionaire scale that features the answers for 1-5 points labeled very unsatisfied, unsatisfied, neither unsatisfied nor satisfied, satisfied and very satisfied linking to each factor or variable, where a score of 1 reflects the lowest degree of satisfaction and a score of 5 represents the highest degree. The logistic regression methods are used to identify the variables into its determining components. RESULTS: The overall satisfaction degree representing satisfaction of all factors (variables) is 3.02, which is at the middle level of a 1-5 Likert scale, inferring respondents' neutral attitude to publicly financed health services. According to the correlation test, the factors with characteristic root greater than 0.5 are chosen to take the factor analysis and 12 extracted factors can explain 77.97% of original 18 variables' total variance. Regression analysis based on the survey data finds that health records, vaccinations, pediatric care, elder care, and mental health management are the main factors accounting for degree of satisfaction with publicly financed health services for both urban and rural residents. CONCLUSIONS: What can be done to increase the degree of satisfaction with health services needs to be considered based on our findings. Regression analysis based on the survey data finds that health records, vaccinations, pediatric care, elder care, and mental health management are the main factors accounting for degree of satisfaction with publicly financed health services for both urban and rural residents. Therefore, with improvements in health records, timely vaccination, elder care for women or elder, pediatric care and major psychosis management, degree of satisfaction with publicly financed health services are likely to grow.

RESUMO

Objective: Gender differences in the usage of supplements by working adults and their awareness of them.
Methods: Full-time employees of Company A in the Tokai region of Japan and their spouses were given cross-sectional questionnaires (response rate: 61.3%), and 658 responses from full-time employees and their spouses were analyzed.
Results: Supplements were used by 23.7% of the participants. They were used by significantly more women than men, and women also had a greater tendency to seek advice regarding supplement use (advice sought by: women, 44.9%; men, 24.1%; p=0.01). Advice was only rarely sought from professionals. The greatest number of respondents stated that they were unsure whether they were satisfied with their supplement use.
Conclusions: Few participants sought out professional advice when taking supplements and many participants appeared to continue using supplements without noticing any improvement. This suggests both the need for further training of professionals to give more appropriate advice regarding necessary supplement use as well as the need to encourage education aimed at creating eating behavior that does not rely simply on supplements.
