RESUMO

The paper introduces the thinking of the diagnosis and treatment with high-dense silver needle therapy for lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) based on the theory of six-meridian differentiation. According to the severity of LSS and the depth of illness location, LSS is differentiated as six syndromes/patterns, including taiyang disorder, yangming disorder, shaoyang disorder, shaoyin disorder, jueyin disorder and taiyin disorder. The high-dense silver needle therapy is used. The main points include the bilateral Jiaji points (EX-B 2) from L1 to L5 and the acupoints of the bladder meridian of foot-taiyang (1.5 cun lateral to each side of L1 to L5); and the supplementary points are selected from the affected meridians. According to the disorders of six meridians, the length of moxa stick is adjusted in warm acupuncture, targeting the tender sites of soft tissue damage. In order to obtain the satisfactory effects, the appropriate physical exercise is applicable rather than absolutely limiting the movement of affected vertebrae during the treatment.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the distribution characteristics of hirsutism and the law of meridian differentiation in polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). METHODS: For the patients of PCOS, the modified Ferriman-Gallwey score (mF-G score) was adopted to evaluate the hirsutism distribution. The clementine data mining software was used to analyze the distribution region of hirsutism and the correlation with meridian. RESULTS: A total of 141 patients of PCOS participated in the study. The most common regions of hirsutism were in the upper lip (50.35%) and the lower abdomen (34.04%). The higher frequencies of hirsutism at two regions were at the upper lip and lower abdomen (24.82%), the upper lip and chest (12.06%) and the upper lip and thigh (11.35%). In the analysis on the correlation of the upper lip, lower abdomen and chest with other regions, hirsutism was more common in the nearby regions. In reference to the running course of meridian, the frequencies of hirsutism from high to low were the conception vessel (63.12%), the thoroughfare vessel (61.70%), the liver meridian of foot-jueyin (58.16%) and the stomach meridian of foot-yangming (57.45%). According to Miraculous Pivot: Yinyang Twenty-Five Persons, the high incidence of hirsutism (59.57%) resulted from the change of qi and blood in yangming meridian. . CONCLUSION: Blood plays the important role in the growth of body hair. Regarding the yinyang attribution, the incidence of hirsutism at the yin regions is higher than the yang regions. The occurrence of hirsutism is closely related to qi and blood changes in meridians. The conception vessel, the thoroughfare vessel, the liver meridian of foot-jueyin and yangming meridian act highly on the disease.

RESUMO

There are various contents about diagnosis and treatment of low back pain in Neijing (Inner Canon of Yellow Emperor), which are closely related to meridians and collaterals, forming a complete theoretical system of meridian differentiation for low back pain. Its theory and application are interpreted in this paper from five main aspects, including 18 meridians and collaterals densely distributing in the tendons and bones of the waist, the pathogenesis of low back pain lying in the disorders of the meridian qi and blood, the nature of low back pain being reflected by the color and shape of meridians and collaterals, the disordered meridians of low back pain being first identified based on syndrome differentiation, the acupuncture prescription being selected according to meridian differentiation. The purpose of this paper is to guide clinical practice, explore the advantages and characteristics of meridian differentiation, and provide theoretical reference and evidence for promoting the standardization of TCM.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To observe the difference of clinical effects of acupoints selected based on meridian differen-tiation and conventional method for cervical spondylosis radiculopathy(CSR) treated with acupuncture and moxibustion. METHODS: Sixty patients with CSR were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group,30 cases in each one. Ashi points of the injured meridians in the neck, namely six-he points, were selected in the observation group, matched with luo-connecting points of the injured meridians on the same side and the interiorly-exteriorly correlated meridians on the opposite side. Conventional acupuncture was used on Fengchi(GB 20),Jiaji(EX-B 2) of the neck,Tianzhu(BL 10),Jianjing(GB 21),Houxi(SI 3),Hegu(LI 4) and Waiguan(TE 5) on the affected side in the control group. Treatment was given once every other day, three times a week and total 12 times in the two groups. Twenty subscales for CSR and visual analogue scale(VAS) were observed before and after treatment, and total effects were evaluated after treatment. RESULTS: The effective rate of the observation group was 93.3%(28/30),which was better than 66.7%(20/30) of the control group(P<0.05). The scores of 20 subscales and VAS after treatment were all improved compared with those before treatment in the two groups(all P<0.01),with more apparent change in the observation group(both P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The effect of acupuncture and moxibustion based on meridian differentiation is obvious, and superior to that of conventional acupoints selection.

RESUMO

ObjectiveTo investigate the efficacy of meridian differentiation-based point selection plus qi-guiding acupuncture in treating lumbar intervertebral disc herniation.MethodFive hundred and forty-nine patients with lumbar intervertebral disc herniation were randomly allocated, using a random number table, to two groups. The treatment group of 280 patients received qi-guiding acupuncture at points selected according to meridian differentiation and the control group, electroacupuncture at points selected according to meridian differentiation.ResultThe total efficacy rate was 87.5% in the treatment group and 86.6% in the control group; there was no statistically significantdifference between the two groups (P>0.05). The cure rate was 51.8% in the treatment group and41.6% in the control group; there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). ConclusionThe total efficacy rate of qi-guiding acupuncture at points selected according to meridian differentiation for lumbar intervertebral disc herniation is similar to that of electroacupuncture at points selected according to meridian differentiation, but the cure rate of the former is higher thanthat of the latter.
