Insights into the molecular mechanisms, structure-activity relationships and application prospects of polysaccharides by regulating Nrf2-mediated antioxidant response.

The occurrence and development of many diseases are closely related to oxidative stress. In this context, accumulating evidence suggests that Nrf2, as the master switch of cellular antioxidant signaling, plays a central role in controlling the expression of antioxidant genes. The core molecular mechanism of polysaccharides treatment of oxidative stress-induced diseases is to activate Keap1/Nrf2/ARE signaling pathway, promote nuclear translocation of Nrf2, and up-regulate the expression of antioxidant enzymes. However, recent studies have shown that other signaling pathways in which polysaccharides exert antioxidant effects, such as PI3K/Akt/GSK3ß, JNK/Nrf2 and NF-κB, have complex crosstalk with Keap1/Nrf2/ARE, may have direct effects on the nuclear translocation of Nrf2. This suggests a new strategy for designing polysaccharides as modulators of Nrf2-dependent pathways to target the antioxidant response. Therefore, in this work, we investigate the crosstalk between Keap1/Nrf2/ARE and other antioxidant signaling pathways of polysaccharides by regulating Nrf2-mediated antioxidant response. For the first time, the structural-activity relationship of polysaccharides, including molecular weight, monosaccharide composition, and glycosidic linkage, is systematically elucidated using principal component analysis and cluster analysis. This review also summarizes the application of antioxidant polysaccharides in food, animal production, cosmetics and biomaterials. The paper has significant reference value for screening antioxidant polysaccharides targeting Nrf2.

Online spectral unmixing in gamma-ray spectrometry.

We introduced in a previous paper a time-dependent full-spectrum analysis algorithm speeding up the estimation of the activity of the radionuclides present in a sample. In this paper, we present a new version of the algorithm allowing online estimation. It uses only on a buffer of few segments while keeping the time information by using a time dependent regularization, thus reducing the size of the data matrices and the length of the processing of each iteration. The algorithm is optimized and tested on both simulated and measured spectra of aerosol samples.

Uncertainty Estimation for Quantitative Agarose Gel Electrophoresis of Nucleic Acids.

This paper considers the evaluation of uncertainty of quantitative gel electrophoresis. To date, such uncertainty estimation presented in the literature are based on the multiple measurements performed for assessing the intra- and interlaboratory reproducibility using standard samples. This paper shows how to estimate the uncertainty in cases where we cannot study scattering components of the results. The first point is dedicated to a case where we have standard samples (the direct expressions are shown). The second point considers the situation when standard samples are absent (the algorithm for estimating the lower bound for uncertainty is discussed). The role of the data processing algorithm is demonstrated.

Analysis of gamma-ray spectra with spectral unmixing, Part II: Recalibration for the quantitative analysis of HPGe measurements.

In the context of radioactivity measurements, the quantitative analysis of a gamma-ray spectrum depends on the analysis algorithm. To that end, we recently introduced a Poisson statistics-based spectral unmixing approach. However, it also relies on a proper instrument recalibration as well as on an uncertainty estimation, for which no solution has been proposed so far. The goal of this article is twofold: i) we first present a novel method to correct for the instrument calibration of an HPGe detection system, which is tailored to spectral unmixing algorithms, and ii) we apply this new approach to the quantitative analysis of real data as well as on the evaluation of the uncertainty. Along with the characteristic limits determination investigated, this paper introduces the first full metrological analysis sequence of aerosol filter measurements based on spectral unmixing, which allows to quantify both the radionuclides' activities and their associated uncertainties.

[Analysis of CiteSpace knowledge map for Cichorium intybus].

To analyze the study advance of Cichorium intybus, a kind of medicinal food, this study systematically retrieved Chinese and English literatures of C.intybus-related studies based on CNKI and the Web of Science database platforms by literature metrological research method and CiteSpace 5.5.R2 software, and visualized the literatures. A total of 1 247 Chinese literatures and 1 488 English literatures were included. Author analysis showed that HAN Yongfen in Guizhou Grass Industry Research Institute and W VAN DEN ENDE in Belgium Catholic University of Leuven had the most publications in Chinese and English C.intybus literatures respectively. ZHANG Bing's team was the core study team of C. intybus in China. Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and Belgium Catholic University of Leuven had the largest number of Chinese and English Cichorium literatures. There was a few cooperation between Chinese study institutions and close cooperation between foreign research institutions. Keywords analysis showed that C.intybus studies mainly focused on breeding and growth performance, composition analysis and content determination, nutritional value and medicinal value, in which C.intybus composition and its role in reducing uric acid were the hotspots of current studies. This study found that C.intybus has a high economic value and medicinal value, and its food nutrition and medicinal activity will be the main directions of future studies.

[Systematic review and analysis on the appropriate diseases in clinical treatment with Fu's subcutaneous needling therapy].

The clinical research articles relevant with Fu's subcutaneous needling therapy (FSN) were retrieved from CNKI, WANFANG, CBM and PubMed databases till January 2018 since the establishment of database. According to the general international criteria of disease classification, the diseases involved in the articles were classified and summarized. In terms of the clinical application and research of FSN, the questions were extracted and commented through expert's consultation. As a result, 412 articles were included. The statistical results of disease spectrum indicated that FSN was adopted in 65 kinds of diseases in 11 systems. Of these diseases, the relevant somatic pain disorders in the musculoskeletal system were the most appropriate. Professor FU Zhong-hua explained that the clinical physicians of FSN should select the muscle-related disorders as the clinical research subject and treat them with normalized manipulation of FSN. The research on FSN is still at the preliminary stage. It needs more high-quality clinical and basic researches to provide the evidences for the therapeutic effects of FSN.

Under the perspective of international discourse power, the construction of the national communication platform, the cultivation of academic centers and research fields, and the interaction with international research forces will enhance the quality of Chinese acupuncture research, and these will become an important task in enhancing the international discourse power of Chinese acupuncture.

Analysis of paper publishing conditions by postgraduate background staff in an upper first-class hospital in Guangxi Province during 2010-2014 / 中华医学科研管理杂志

Objective Based on the analysis of papers published by postgraduate background staff from an upper first-class hospital in Guangxi during 2010-2014,claimed that the medical scientific research administrators should pay more attention and give more support to such staff.Methods Literature metrology method was used to describe and analyze the hospital staff,postgraduate staff resource composition and published papers from the annual growth rate,per capita,constituent ratio,quantitative analysis of core authors group.Results In the latest five years,the hospital postgraduate staff had published 169 papers,143 papers were published in statistical source journals or SCI;the amount of paper publication increased annually,the average of per author published paper was 0.39;but the quality still has a lot space for improvement.Conclusions Although the amount of paper publication by postgraduate background staff increased annually,the average paper number published per author showed the features of great fluctuation,the quality of those papers should be improved.The core authors were formed,but the quantity of this author group needs to be increased,as well as the scientific quality of those core authors.

Metrological analysis of literatures from 1987 to 2008 on breast reconstruction in China / 中华内分泌外科杂志

Objective Metrological literature analysis of breast reconstruction from 1987 to 2008 in China,in order to illuminate the process of breast reconstruction's development and to predicts the mian tendency of breast reconstruction in the future.Methods Papers about breast reconstruction from 1987 to 2008 on Chinese Medical Current Content (CMCC) and Chinese Bio-medical Literature Database (CBMdisc) were Metrologically analyzed according to journal,institute,surgeon method,optimal time,content and so on.Results In all 247 collected,the first place in order of first jourual,institute,author,area,surgeon methods,optimal time were as follow:Chinese Journal of Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery (15 papers),China Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College (46 papers),Qi Fazhi (9 papers),Beijin(56 papers),latissimus dorsi perforator flap breast reconstruction,and transverse rectus abdom in is myocutaneous flap breast reconstruction,immediate reconstruction.Conclusions This paper which outlines some features of papers published in China on breast reconstruction in rencent 21 years provides a credible resource for further study.The immediate latissimus dorsi perforator flap breast reconstruction would be the main trend of it's further development.

Tridimensional metrological analysis of Baogan Jiedu Granule on liver cell ultrastructure of model mice with acute liver injury induced by tetracycline / 西安交通大学学报(医学版)

Objective To explore the effect of Baogan Jiedu Granule on liver cell ultrastructure of model mice with acute liver injury induced by tetracycline.Methods Totally 60 mice were randomly divided into tetracycline model group,large-dosage,medium-dosage and small-dosage groups of Baogan Jiedu Granule,Ganlixin group and control group.Each group was respectively perfused with corresponding drug for 5 days and tetracycline was perfused once to make the model.The tissues were observed by electron microscope,and the liver cell ultrastructure was measured and analyzed by three-dimensional metrology.Results The amount of mitochondria Vv,heterochromatin Vv,mitochondria ?m,endoplasmic reticulum ?m and Golgi's apparatus ?m all obviously decreased in model group,while that of euchromatin Vv and lipid droplet Vv increased.Baogan Jiedu Granule could remarkably increase the amount of indexes referred above,and decrease the amount of euchromatin Vv and lipid droplet Vv.Conclusion Baogan Jiedu Granule can significantly ameliorate the pathologic change of liver cell ultrastructure,thus having a good hepatoprotective effect.
