A method of local influencing with the extremely high frequency electromagnetic irradiation on the points of acupuncture was used in the complex treatment of 44 patients with obliterative diseases of the vessels of the lower extremities at the age of 34-75 years. Obliterative atherosclerosis was diagnosed in 15 of them, obliterative endarteritis --in 29. A high effectiveness of the method even in late stages of vascular pathology was noted. No complications were observed.

Based upon the investigation of the hemogram, biochemical indices of blood and certain instrumental methods of research in patients with a critical form of obliterating diseases of lower extremity vessels, whose treatment included UVI of auto-blood, the authors have shown pronounced clinical efficiency of the method of treatment resulting in the improvement of theological properties of blood, microcirculation in tissues, less pain syndrome and rapid healing of trophic ulcers against the background of better condition of the patient. The method allowed the time of staying at the hospital to be substantially shortened.

The authors analyze the results of clinical application of intravenous He-Ne laser irradiation of the blood in patients with obliterating diseases of the limb vessels. Starting from 1984, this method was employed in the treatment of 133 patients, of these 102 ones with atherosclerosis obliterans of the lower limb vessels, 17 with endarteritis obliterans, and 14 with Raynaud's syndrome. Intravenous laser therapy proved to the most effective in atherosclerotic involvement of the vessels, when positive result was achieved in 77.5 percent of patients. The length of remission was up to 6 months. the method of treatment is described.

Knott's autotransfusion of UV-irradiated blood was performed in 163 inoperable patients, including 141 patients with obliterating atherosclerosis and 22 patients with endarteritis. Good clinical effect was produced that was particularly apparent in patients with obliterating atherosclerosis. Assessment of the effects of autotransfusion of US-irradiated blood on microcirculation, peripheral circulation, hemostasis and humoral immunity in the two samples confirmed the method's efficiency.
