Enfrentando desafios e transformações para vir a ser mãe e profissional / Facing the challenges and the transformations to become mother and professional

RESUMO

O estudo foi realizado com alunas do curso de graduação em enfermagem que viveram a experiência de ter um filho durante sua trajetória acadêmica universitária. Teve como objetivos: buscar compreender como a aluna define a experiência vivida no período pós-parto; as transformações percebidas ao longo desse período; as ações que desenvolvem na vivência de ter um filho; desenvolver um modelo teórico representativo dessa experiência. Utilizou-se como referencial teórico o Interacionismo Simbólico e como referencial metodológico, a Grounded Theory. As estratégias para obtenção dos dados foram a observação e a entrevista. Dos resultados, emergiram três fenômenos sequenciais que se articulam - Tornando-se grávida-aluna,Preparando-se para vir a ser mãe-aluna, Tornando-se mãe-aluna. Dos fenômenos, identificou-se a Categoria Central - ENFRENTANDO DESAFIOS E TRANSFORMAÇÕES PARA VIR A SER MÃE E PROFISSIONAL. A compreensão da experiência da aluna possibilitou reconhecer que as vivências que ocorrem no período pós-parto são percebidas, pela aluna, dentro do processo da maternidade, que se inicia quando a gravidez entra em sua vida. O modelo teórico mostra que a experiência de ter um filho é permeada pela vivência de transformações e conflitos de papéis provocada pela chegada da criança que se agudiza no período pós-parto

ABSTRACT

The study was carried out with nursing undergraduate students who had experience of having a baby while pursuing a degree. It had as objectives: to understand how the student characterizes the experience lived in the postpartum; thetransformations perceived throughout this period; the actions engaged during their experiences; to develop a representative theoretical model of the process. Symbolic Interactionism and Grounded Theory were adopted the study. The strategies usedin ddata collection were observation and interview. From the data analysis, three phenomena were identified becoming pregnant as a student; preparing to become mother as student; being mother-student. From these phenomena emerged the corecategory "FACING THE CHALLENGES AND THE TRANSFORMATIONS TO BECOME MOTHER AND PROFESSIONAL". The understanding of the student experiences made possible to recognize that the pospartum is part of a process initiated with the ascertainment of thepregnancy. The theoretical model shows that the experience of having a baby while a student is permeated with transformations and conflict of roles occasioned by arrival of the baby, worsened in the postpartum
