RESUMO
Objetivo:
Descrever o comportamento sexual e fatores associados em caminhoneiros de rota longa.Método:
Estudo de natureza quantitativa, descritiva, realizado por meio de inquérito epidemiológico, no município de Teresina. A população foi composta por uma amostra de 384 caminhoneiros de rota longa, submetidos à entrevista mediante o consentimento, respeitando os preceitos éticos da Resolução 466/2012.Resultados:
A totalidade da amostra (n=377) era do sexo masculino (100%), sendo que 61,8% cursaram apenas o ensino fundamental e 79,6% eram casados. Um expressivo percentual (64,5%) referiu multiparceria, sendo que 45,8%nunca fizeram uso de preservativo. Apenas a faixa etária e a religião foram estatisticamente associadas à média de parceiros sexuais (p<0,001, IC95% = 5,8-12,9 e p<0,001, IC95% = 1,5-11,2) respectivamente.Conclusões:
Verificou-se que a população investigada está exposta a condições que a torna susceptível às infecções sexualmente transmissíveis, sendo necessário o desenvolvimento de programas de atenção integral à saúde dos caminhoneiros.ABSTRACT
Objective:
To describe sexual behavior and associated factors in long distance truck drivers.Method:
Study quantitative, descriptive, conducted through epidemiological survey in the city of Teresina. The population consisted of a sample of 384 long distance truck drivers submitted to an interview with the consent, respecting the ethical principles of Resolution 466/2012.Results:
The entire sample was male (100%), and61.8% only attended elementary school and 79.6% were married. A significant percentage (64.5%) reportedmultiple partnerships, and 45.8% never uses condoms. Only age and religion were statistically associated withaverage sexual partners (p <0.001, 95% CI = 5.8-12.9 and p <0.001, 95% CI 1.5-11.2), respectively.Conclusions:
It was found that the population studied was exposed to conditions that make it susceptible tosexually transmitted infections, which required the development of comprehensive care programs to thehealth of truck drivers.
