Cuidados prestados pela equipe de enfermagem no atendimento aos eventos adversos pós-vacinais / Care provided by the nursing team in care ofpost-vaccination adverse events

RESUMO

Objetivo: identificar os cuidados prestados pela equipe de enfermagem no atendimento aos eventos adversos pós-vacinais (EAPV). Metodologia: pesquisa qualitativa, descritiva e exploratória realizada entre março e maio de 2014, em oito unidades básicas de saúde do município de Pelotas/RS, com quinze profissionais de enfermagem mediante entrevistas semiestruturadas. Resultados: evidenciou-se que os cuidados prestados centram-se nas orientações referentes às vacinas que serão administradas. Também é orientado quanto ao uso de compressas frias para alívio das reações locais, do banho e do uso de medicamentos para diminuição da temperatura corporal. Conclusão: considera-se que os profissionais prestam os cuidados essenciais no atendimento ao EAPV, porém apresentam dificuldades em compreender os processos fisiológicos de elevação da temperatura corporal indicando medidas farmacológicas desnecessárias.

ABSTRACT

Objective: it was aimed to identify the care provided by the nursing team in the care of post-vaccination adverse events (PVAE). Methodology: this is a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory research performed between March and May 2014, in eight basic health units in the municipality of Pelotas/RS, with fifteen nursing professionals, through semi-structured interviews. Results: showed that the care provided is focused on the guidelines concerning the vaccines that will be administered. They also provide guidance as to the use of cold compresses to relieve local reactions, as well as bath and use of medications to decrease body temperature. Conclusion: it is considered that professionals provide the essential care actions in the care for the PVAE, but show difficulties to understand the physiological processes of elevation of the body temperature, thus indicating unnecessary pharmacological measures.
