Viver saudável: Significado para os moradores de rua do município de Santa Maria - RS / Healthy living: meaning for the homeless in Santa Maria-RS

RESUMO

Objetivo Conhecer o significado do viver saudável para os moradores de rua do Município de Santa Maria, RS. Método: Pesquisa qualitativo-exploratória. Resultados: Foram entrevistados vinte indivíduos, do sexo masculino, no período de fevereiro a junho de 2009. Os participantes foram selecionados aleatoriamente, tendo-se, como critérios de inclusão, ser morador de rua, com ou sem permanência temporária no albergue. Os dados foram analisados à luz da hermenêutica, visto ser este um referencial que possibilita entender em profundidade o texto, o discurso dos entrevistados, emergindo três categorias. Considerações finais Enquanto, para alguns moradores, viver na rua significa “liberdade”, para outros o albergue significa privar-se do consumo de álcool e outras drogas ilícitas, promovendo, dessa forma, um viver saudável.

ABSTRACT

Objective: to search meaning of healthy living for street dweller of Santa Maria, RS. Method: qualitative and explorative research. Results: twenty male individuals were interviewed, in the period of February to June of 2009. The participators were selected casually, with the one criterion of inclusion being street dweller, with or without temporary permanence in the hostel. Data were analyzed under the light of hermeneutic interpretation, because this referential allows understanding with profoundness the text, the discourse of the participators, when emerge three categories. Final considerations while for same street dwellers to live in the street means liberty, for others the hostel means to abstain themselves of alcohol ingestion and of others illicit drugs, promoting so a healthy living.

RESUMEN

Objetivo: conocer el significado del vivir saludable para los que viven en las calles del Municipio de Santa María, RS. Método: encuesta cualitativa y exploratoria. Resultados: fueran entrevistados veinte individuos masculinos, en el periodo de febrero a junio de 2009. Los participantes fueran seleccionados aleatoriamente, teniéndose como criterio de inclusión ser morador de la calle, con o sin permanencia en el albergue. Los resultados fueran analizados a la luce de la hermenéutica, ya que este es un referencial que posibilita entender en profundidad el texto, el discurso de los entrevistados, los cuales llevan a tres categorías. Consideraciones finales en cuanto para algunos de los moradores vivir en la calle significa la libertad, para otros quiere decir abstenerse delconsumo de alcohol y de otras drogas ilícitas, promoviendo así un vivir saludable.
