A contribuição da investigação de óbito materno para a saúde da mulher em idade fértil / The contribution of maternal death research to the health of women of childbearing age

RESUMO

A mortalidade materna é uma das graves violações aos direitos humanos das mulheres. Os óbitos maternos são evitáveis em 92% dos casos. Este trabalho tem como objetivo discutir o processo de investigação de óbito materno e contribuir para a melhoria da qualidade da saúde das mulheres em idade fértil (de 10 a 49 anos). De forma específica, pretende-se descrever o modelo de Declaração de Óbito no Brasil e sua importância na Vigilância Epidemiológica dos óbitos. Demonstrando, também, como a qualidade dessas informações pode contribuir para a realização da vigilância e, por fim, descrever o processo de investigação dos óbitos maternos. O método utilizado foi a revisão bibliográfica de literatura. Finaliza-se o trabalho com um roteiro para o monitoramento das gestantes de alto risco que contribuirá na prevenção dos óbitos maternos

ABSTRACT

Maternal mortality is one of the serious violations of women's human rights. Maternal deaths are preventable in 92% of cases. This study aims to discuss the maternal death investigation process and contribute to the improvement of the health quality of women of childbearing age (from 10 to 49 years). Specifically, it is intended to describe the model of Death Certificate in Brazil and its importance in Epidemiological Surveillance of deaths. It also demonstrates how the quality of this information can contribute to surveillance and, finally, to describe the process of investigation of maternal deaths. The method used was the bibliographical review of the literature. The work ends with a roadmap for the monitoring of high-risk pregnant women, which will contribute to the prevention of maternal deaths
