RESUMEN
Se trata de una revisión de 954 estapedectomías, elegidas al azar de un conjunto de 2064 pacientes con diagnóstico de otoesclerosis, cuyas cirugias se realizaron entre los años 1960-1980. El estudio arrojo una prevalencia femenina del 61,53 por ciento. El 69,59 por ciento de ambos sexos consultó entre los 30 y 60 años de edad. Sobre el 954 estapedectomías se evidenciaron resultados funcionales satisfactorios en el 86,58 por ciento, pobres en 11,74 por ciento y cofosis post-operatorias en el 1,67 por ciento.
ABSTRACT
954 patients out of a population of 2064 with diagnosis, of Otosclerosis were checked. Their first visit was made between 1960 and 1980. This study show a prevalence in women of 61.53 per cent. 69.59 per cent of the whlw population were aged 30 to 60. 954 stapedectomies were checked satisfactory results were in 86.58 per cent 11,74 per cent didn't improve audition and only 1.67 per cent result in a complete failure.
