RESUMEN
En una muestra de mujeres trabajadoras en Puerto Rico, se analizó entre la imagen corporal y la calidad de vida laboral. Se les administró la versión en español del Body Esteem Scale for Adolescents and Adults (BESAA) (µ=.89) y la Escala de Calidad de Vida Laboral (µ=.96) a 100 mujeres entre las edades de 21 a 50 años. Los resultados confirmaron que existe relación entre la estima corporal y la calidad de vida laboral resaltando su importancia para una mejor efectividad organizacional (r=.360, n=100, p≤.05). Tanto la estima corporal como la calidad de vida laboral como factores multidimensionales se integran destacando la satisfacción consigo mismas y su influencia en el ambiente de trabajo.
ABSTRACT
The relationship between the body image and quality of life at work analyzed in a sample of hard-working women in Puerto Rico. A hundred of women, among 21 and 50 years old, were measured with the Spanish version of Body Esteem Scale for Adolescents and Adults (BESAA) (∞=.89) and the Work related Quality of Life Scale (∞=.96). Results confirmed that there is a relation between body esteem and quality of life at work, highlighting their importance to a better organizational affectivity (r= .360, n = 100, p≤ .0.5). Body esteem as well as quality of life at work, as multidimensional factors, integrate each other by emphasizing their own satisfaction and their influence in the work environment.
